"FRIENDS AND FANS, ALIENS AND DROIDS, CREATURES OF ALL SPECIES IN THE BUILDING TONIGHT! ARE. YOU. READY?!"

Spotlights roamed over the crowd, and fans cheered louder wherever the beams landed on them.

"I SAID ARE YOU READYYYYY?! Because what you are about to witness has been SEVEN LONG WEEKS in the making! Rivalries! Betrayals! Someone allegedly stole someone else's spice! And TONIGHT, we settle it in the only way this arena knows how... COMBAT!"

The stage lights flickered, and the crowd roared as one, every person caught in the same electric tension.

Calyx roared right along with them, chewing on overpriced porg bites while his eyes drifted to the walkways every so often. The seat beside him was still empty. And it wasn't supposed to be empy. By now, he'd expected whatever runner the Dead Shens had sent to collect his intel on Kanjiklub activity.

He hadn't managed to fully slip Windrun's reach here on Coruscant. But if this was all it took - just naming names, supply routes, infiltrators, storage sites - and she'd finally forget he existed afterward? Well, he'd taken that deal without second thought.

He wasn't even that fond of Kanjiklub's local branch anyway.

Besides, the match was a nice bonus. He'd picked the venue on purpose. There was no better place for a shady handoff than right out in the open. It was always better to disappear into a crowd of a thousand faces than stand out as the one suspicious pair in a back alley. That, and he'd always had a soft spot for watching one guy pummel another.

Still, he wondered why the runner hadn't shown. Who showed up late to something like this?

Not that he could ask around. The only description he had was the seat number the Dead Shens had booked.

He popped another porg bite into his mouth. Shame. He thought. Guess we'll have to arrange another meeting. His mind already went to the next couple of matches that had been announced.

He smiled.

Then roared as the massive gamorrean entered the ring.
