STANDARD FEATURES
Crew Quarters - Spaced evenly throughout the cruiser, the crew quarters are where most of the ship's crew resides. There are twenty of these crew quarters, each capable of fitting ten people in five double bunk beds. In between the beds, there are small storage compartments for receiving letters or holding important personal artifacts. The rooms are rectangular, with the long end being from the left to the right of the entry doors.

Officer Quarters - In the upper decks, there are six officer quarters. Each one houses four officers, except for the sixth one which houses only the captain and his first mate. The beds are slightly larger than the beds in the crew quarters, and are not bunks. Between the beds are expanded storage compartments. The officer quarters are the same size as the crew quarters and have the same rectangular layout.

The sixth officer quarter is located right next to the command bridge, and has two large beds for the captain and first mate, each on opposite corners of the room. In the remaining wall space are multiple storage compartments, as well as a weapons rack near the entrance door.

Mess Hall - In the very center of the cruiser, there is an oval-shaped, open space in where rations can be distributed. There are dozens of tables and even more chairs, capable of seating hundreds.

Bridge - At the rear of the Twinkie-class light cruiser, the command bridge protrudes slightly from the surrounding frame. Its viewports provide a 180 degree view of the ship's surroundings. In the center of the bridge is a comms array, surrounded by varying smaller systems for navigation and secondary communication. At the front of the bridge, a large revolving command chair provides the captain a comfortable place to control the ship.

ADVANCED SYSTEMS

Strengths:
  • Spongy on the outside - Twinkie-class cruisers have strong, well-developed shields capable of absorbing sustained fire. Their numerous point-defense weapons prevent most ships from becoming a threat at close range.
Weaknesses:
  • Creamy on the inside - Despite the Twinkie-class cruiser's powerful shielding capabilities, it is lightly armored, with some voatile ship components being located on the sides.
  • Filled with cream - Due to the numerous halls, targeting systems, and armor plating onboard, the hangars of Twinkie-class cruisers are relatively small.
Description: The Twinkie-class light cruiser is the first cruiser that Ne-Cal Military Engineering has ever made. Despite this, their product still turned out as they wanted, and began a line of larger capital ships for Ne-Cal.

The cruiser's naming comes from an obscure treat that Rick observed a member of his capital ship engineering team eat. At the same time, Rick was thinking of a new capital ship idea. He had come up with its purpose and dimensions, but not a name. The Twinkie was what caught his attention, and then the cruiser's name was christened.

Shortly afterward, the largest production team in Ne-Cal history began developing blueprints and schematics. Frames were shipped from NCME mining facilities and the market alike, and enough credits were invested to buy one of every other product Ne-Cal owned at the time. Tests were numerous, nearly daily, with mixed results. It took almost two years before the vessel was perfected.

And then, it was complete. Twinkie, the first of its kind, was christened in the skies above Mon Calamari before traveling to SJO space. Only two months later, Twinkie-II was christened after a more refined creation process. It was quickly sold off, and made a huge profit. After Twinkie-II's success, dozens of Twinkies were created, at an average rate of one per month. In fact, Twinkies became the second-highest produced Ne-Cal vessel after their original profit-maker, the Essex-class starfighter killer.

Better yet, the Twinkie-class cruiser became a stepping stone on which ever-growing ships could be built with ever-increasing material quality.
