PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • 'Patrolman,' 'Standard Duty,' and 'Heavy Duty' presets.
  • Locality protocol - databank storage for local laws and authority.
  • Integrated comlink allows access and communications with other units under the same authority.
STRENGTHS
  • Security Droid: The Cylai-type is designed to be an advanced security droid, with preprogrammed assets that allow it to perform a multitude of roles. Three different presets - 'Patrolman,' 'Standard Duty,' and 'Heavy Duty' -- are ascribed with different weapons and modifications that allow them to perform best in different security roles. In addition to that, a 'locality protocol' can be established to conform to a local station or area's laws, as to best shape the Cylai to the specific type of security needed.
WEAKNESSES
  • Weapon Assets: The droid's weapon programming is limited to its preset, which in it of itself is very restrictive. The droid performs best with the specific model of its preset, and will find functionality decreased if forced to use a weapon that it is not programmed to use. In addition, the weapons that the droid is programmed to use do not include heavy weapons or weapons against heavily-armored targets, landing the Cylai-type squarely as a security droid instead of infantry.
DESCRIPTION
The TVX-16S Cylai-type Security Droid is Roble Manufacturing's first-ever mass-produced model of combat droid, its previous models being a specialized bodyguard and training droids. The Cylai-type features a number of new technologies to debut with the release of the droid, including among others the RMD-C12 Orvis Advanced Optical Sensor and MXC-T20 Halvoy Integrated Comlink. The Orvis gives the droid advanced optical capabilities, those that surpass droids of common make. The Halvoy allows for increased coordination and streamlined communication with other units and the security droid's command sensors. In addition, the Cylai's advanced Feyr droid brain, while not a new model, is able to allow ti to perform its function with ample efficiency and productivity.

The Cylai is designed to be a combat droid, and thus it's various presets -- the 'Patrolman,' 'Standard Duty,' and 'Heavy Duty,' -- enable the Cylai to equip different models of blasters of different calibers and effectiveness. The inclusion of multiple presets allows customers to shape the Cylai to fit their unique security needs, and not to 'overblow' it if necessary. In that same sense, the Cylai features a set of programming dubbed the 'locality protocol,' where customers can input local laws and other priorities into their Cylai models to best fit the customer's needs. All in all, the Cylai is an extremely capable and wide-ranged model of security droid, which will no doubt be vital in securing areas and assets to come.
