DESCRIPTION

The once-mighty First Order has fallen. Their burgeoning Empire fell prey to the predations of a voracious, and persistent foe that lingered on the edge of the known universe. Systems that were once bastions of mighty Imperial resolve were put to the torch, and their citizens were enslaved - or worse - used as biological fuel for their reptilian war machine. In many ways, it was tragic. Creatures of misguided order and justice who reached too far and were unable to see the tendrils of festering rot that gnawed at their heart. As they began to crumble, and their leaders fled from the destiny that the Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium had ascribed for them - the Golden Company moved in; seeking to collect on an old debt before they faded into the annals of history.

Thus, those Gilded Mercenaries laid waste to the Ison Corridor - slaughtering both First-Imperial and Ssi-Ruu Soldiers alike.

When the deed was complete, and the Sun Guard stood victorious, there were pockets of survivors who broke their meagre chains of indoctrination and sought begrudging salvation in the embrace of their conquerors. They were given a choice beforehand. They were told that service to the Golden Company ensured that they would live - that they would be reforged anew and given a new purpose amongst the uncaring stars. Or, if they refused the honour, they would be put to death - slain by the sword they claimed to live by. Many died that day; with their corpses growing cold on silent moons that were scoured and ravaged to satiate the voracious hunger of one’s greed.

Those that joined the cause were given positions of honour within the Gilded Confraternity’s ranks but found themselves ill-adjusted to the armour they now wore. Systems that were bound to the First Order’s network no longer function, and any attempt to alter their programs were met with catastrophic failure. Therefore something needed to be done, to capitalize on the incredible boon that the Mercenaries found themselves now in command of. So, in cooperation with the technicians at Republic Engineering Corporation, the Golden Company set about devising a little piece of familiarity for their new Legions - but with a more acceptable colour scheme.

Through the combined intellect of the Coruscanti technical architects and the Thyrsian Enclave, they managed to unlock the secrets that were woven into the heart of the FO-02 Stormtrooper armour. When that technological seal was broken, their minds began breaking down the fundamentals, in the hopes of making something better. What they intended to make was to be the spiritual successor to the original First-Imperial warplate; upgrading the suit far beyond the capabilities of the pilfered predecessor. With that information, and manifested desire in hand, the twinned team of technicians set to work towards crafting yet another advanced masterpiece that would take the galaxy by storm.

The Advanced Shocktrooper; Series One features a design that not only mocks the grinning rictus of the First Order’s elite, but houses some of the most advanced technological systems in the known galaxy. The multi-layered construction began with a polarized sheet of glasteel that was impregnated with delicate circuitry that formed a partial sphere around the operator’s face; allowing them to visually interpret the data that their suit, and supplementary systems actively - and passively - collected. In addition to the technological capabilities of the visor, its settings were capable of altering from transparent to opaque - either automatically to dampen the effects of disorientation, or to the user’s preference. The former was the default state, and the latter was easily changed at the operator’s discretion. A fact that was further enhanced by the Thyrsian military doctrine - which required the visor to be transparent whenever a subordinate addressed a Commanding Officer off the battlefield.

With that visor, came the interior suite of high-comfort and concussion padding, alongside a layer of thermal gel, that was meant to ensure the helmet would remain on the Operator’s head, and provide a measure of protection against the possibility of kinetic impact.

Woven around, and effectively encasing the Operator’s helmet in sensitive electronics; chief among them being the Combat MicroComputer, that not only operated a majority of the suit’s systems - but housed a limited intelligence within its circuits too. This program was outfitted with processors that allowed the digital construct to learn through experience, much like an artificial child, and could - theoretically - provide its Operator with predictive projections in real-time, and during combat, solely based on accumulated information. In addition to this limited variation on artificial intelligence, the helmet was also equipped with an advanced facial recognition system; which would be programmed to activate and operate with both the wearer’s eyes and voice via blink and vocal commands, respectively.

As an expansion onto the properties that were already present in the previous generation of Stormtrooper helmets, the Shocktrooper variant was capable of fully-retracting it’s facial plating; revealing the glasteel visor and the Operator beneath.

Without mentioning the additional systems woven into the helmet, the third and fourth layers of the headpieces’ composition became the primary methods of external defence against the myriad dangers present on the battlefield. Above the sensitive electronics was a shell of anti-ion mesh that was to act as a faraday cage for the equipment beneath, which was further reinforced by a thin layer of reinforced duraplast and various insulating materials. In addition to the protective properties of the third layer, the helmet was outfitted with a primary and, ultimately redundant system of atmospheric pressurization - that sought to keep the Operator alive should they find themselves embraced by the nothingness of the void.

The final layer was the betaplast composite shell, which was further enhanced by the addition of duravlex plating, and the laser-reflective properties of the aptly named laser-reflective armour coating Thorugh the blend of those three metallic substances, those that found themselves wearing the Shocktrooper armour would be almost invincible when paired against the various small arms that populated the galaxy. In addition to the properties of the betaplast and its supplemental coating, the duravlex plating offered significant resistance(s) to the elements and the offered limited protection against lightsabres. While it wasn’t perfect, and still held the possibility of succumbing to extreme elemental damage, the capability to turn aside a glancing blow from a lightsabre was too good to pass up.

While the various systems impregnated into the combat headgear were impressive, it was the body armour's undersuit that was the highlight of the armours’ structural composition. The Thyrsian Enclave had been experimenting with various means of technologically enhancing the strength of their soldiers. When they achieved success in recovering and replicating the data that surrounded the ancient technology named Rybcoarse; their first chance at field testing arose during the preliminary construction of the Shocktrooper armour. Not wanting to proceed without further testing, the combined intellectual might of the Coruscanti and Thyrsian people fabricated several undersuits for a fireteam to utilize in the field.

After several hours of pitting these newly christened Auxilia Shocktroopers against various denizens of an arena, their combative trials resulted in remarkable success. Their operational strength was tripled by the bio-engineered compound and the synthetically-enhanced musculature of the Rybcoarse. It was even reported that these Shocktroopers were able to stand toe-to-toe with Trandoshans, or even Wookiees, as equals in close-quarters combat. With those successes in hand, one could only imagine how dangerous these soldiers would become when fully clad in their aureate warplate; which would be built in a similar manner to their helmets. Layered in armour, and reinforced by thermal gel concussion padding that would safeguard them from harm; albeit at an expense of their mobility when struck by successive salvos.

Although the Shocktrooper armour was designed to operate as a bulwark against the many horrors of the universe, the Thyrsian culture demanded that the suit be outfitted with a multitude of weapons; that would supplement the arsenal they were expected to bear in battle. With two retractable knuckle-plate vibroblades, the Operator was able to wade into the thick of combat without the worry of being totally disarmed. In addition to these potent close-quarter weapons, the Shocktrooper was equipped with two poleyn-mounted dart launchers; that could be loaded with a mix of paralytic toxins, or miniaturized explosives.

Much like their Thyrsian Overlords, these Shocktroops would become a walking armoury and even held the potential to rival the Mandalorians themselves.
