TSE needs to attract/retain Force insensitives

I've always thought that our best approach should be ideological as well as forceful: we need to present ourselves as a Empire that has the good of it's subjects at mind, and exists to enforce law and order. Absolutely abolish slavery, extend the Sith belief in meritocracy to all areas of the Empire (which includes for non-FS members) and establish the rule of law, so there are less random killings and more reason. We can't be an 'Empire' if the only reason our citizens allow us to rule is because we'd sterilise their planets if they didn't accept our governance. We have to think more long-term, so in that much, I agree.

As far as the 'name' goes, I wouldn't go with a naming convention based on any central location, because that may well change in the future - if we captured Coruscant, for example, would we still base the Empire at Dromund Kaas, or on Korriban? Likely not. I'd go for something a little less 'Empire' and a bit more 'Imperial' - there's the Remnant, but why not 'Imperial New Order', or something along those lines? Makes all the impression of 'Empire' without saying 'we are going to subjugate your sorry little selves'.
What topic was it where you said the Sith, in theory, were altruistic as they believed that strength was the determining factor in evolution? We could create a sort of 'mantra' of the Sith that made it clear IC we were saying that.

That was the Jedi vs Sith thread, and that's still very much what I believe - there's the idea that the strongest are fit to rule, but only to do so because that serves to create order and stability. If the Alpha of the pack is strong and capable, the pack itself is strong, and will have the ability to grow stronger. If it's weak, the pack either dies out completely or fights amongst itself due to a lack of discipline imposed by the leader. That's the way the Sith rule, and that's our guiding principle there, I think.

Alas, the in-fighting that seems to be faction tradition tends to prevent that particular ideology being put into place. It's an absence of unity based on mutual distrust.

I don't think we'll ever get all of that infighting and distrust out, but we could work to minimize it, and put in an official "Throne Challenge" etiquette, so if someone thinks they can rule they have a fair shot and are less likely to try and run a coup.

EDIT:Hell, we could make the Emperor/press roll termed, and have a sort of contest every few IC years to see if the current ruler was still the strongest.

Oh, it's more that the Emperor's point person for the entire Imperial strategy, and the success or failures of it's members fall squarely on your head, which can be very tedious when there's so much potential either way. Plus the person sitting on the throne is ultimately a target for every power-hungry egomaniac out there, and you're always going to put up with people wanting to test themselves against you, or even those out-right wanting the job.

All of which sounds ridiculously tedious when there's real work to be done ;)

I'll be honest, I don't want to ever have to lead a faction. I wouldn't want to RPJ either. And you decided to be both.

One thing I'm not sure some people ever got (or knew) was that I was asked to come run the faction. I love it, and the powergamer in me enjoys being Dark Lord of the Sith, but yeah - it's not, per se, something I sought out.

I mean Ashin has done a wonderful job, but it's not a Job I'd want to do.

And I personally could tell Moridin was looking for a successor, but it's still a ton of work. Even if I was qualified I don't think I'd take it if asked.

It's highly unlikely we would capture Coruscant. In that event, because it's the name of a SYSTEM and not a specific planet it would still make sense to have a geographical region name. Furthermore, who says we wouldn't rule from our current planet if we capture Coruscant? You would want to stay wherever you were strongest. At the heart of the Empire. Which is currently the Sith Worlds. And if we captured Coruscant, then clearly their defenses sucked and we'd be foolish to set up base there thinking the same couldn't be done to us. But that's a bit off topic. In any case, all these ideas are fascinating. But what are we actually going to do about them?

We'd probably want a name without Sith in it, since that was the whole point of this discussion in the first place. Too many Sith. Too few mortals- er, normal people.
