I've always thought that our best approach should be ideological as well as forceful: we need to present ourselves as a Empire that has the good of it's subjects at mind, and exists to enforce law and order. Absolutely abolish slavery, extend the Sith belief in meritocracy to all areas of the Empire (which includes for non-FS members) and establish the rule of law, so there are less random killings and more reason. We can't be an 'Empire' if the only reason our citizens allow us to rule is because we'd sterilise their planets if they didn't accept our governance. We have to think more long-term, so in that much, I agree.
As far as the 'name' goes, I wouldn't go with a naming convention based on any central location, because that may well change in the future - if we captured Coruscant, for example, would we still base the Empire at Dromund Kaas, or on Korriban? Likely not. I'd go for something a little less 'Empire' and a bit more 'Imperial' - there's the Remnant, but why not 'Imperial New Order', or something along those lines? Makes all the impression of 'Empire' without saying 'we are going to subjugate your sorry little selves'.
