The Galaxy Tree is, as mentioned, a location predicated on the belief in the freedoms of the people, to the extent of no violation of a persons being (IE, anything that causes undo harm to an individual is a crime, but people are free to gamble, drink, do drugs, or whatever). It is also predicated on the defense of those people from the varied oppression of galactic governments, as all of them find a way to put undo hardship on their people, be it through war, taxation, slavery, etc. The Galaxy Tree provides a safe haven for all, and does not allow the carrying of weaponry except by security personnel in order to preserve said freedom. Weapons are kept in a secure location and will be dolled out in a time of crisis, such as invasion.
Overall we are a business. We make money by selling goods to these people, but we do offer them safety and shelter in return, and most of them repay us by working for us. It's a cycle of self-managed regulation. Yes, we do make money off of them, but we do care for the well-being of the people of the galaxy, which is the entire reason the station exists in the first place. Transil is what you could refer to as the CEO of the place. It was his brainchild and subsequently his hard work to earn the support of members of the galactic community that saw the station built in the first place. This is not something he will gloat over as he refers to the place as the achievement of true harmony that all galactic kind desires, but which is constantly stripped from them by their peers.
What I need is a Chief of Security, a Director of Public Relations, a Director of Resource Management, and a Director of Acquisitions. You may decide between yourselves which role you want, or feel free to offer other ideas for roles, as well. I'm flexible.
