Troubled Homecoming

Grandmaster's Office
Following the discovery of Korriban City in ruins.
It seemed as though his path was determined to bring him back once more in the very heart of Silver Jedi space, to the capital itself. It had been several months since he walked the halls of the Temple, meditated in the Gardens and enjoyed the general tranquility of the atmosphere surrounding the heart of the Silvers.

There would be no serenity for the young Valkyri at the moment, his mind was far too troubled by what he found on Korriban. The still smoldering city cast down by orbital bombardment by an "ally" of the Silvers. He could not believe that [member=Thurion Heavenshield], Grandmaster of the Silver Jedi -- His prince, would condone such an act. He didn't want to believe it, but what he discovered on Korriban could not be denied, he had seen the city with his own eyes. He had found the bones and memories of those that had been lost in the firestorm from space.

He had once believed the Silver Jedi to be noble and righteous in their quest for peace, but the bombardment had shown him different. Rumors were rampant through the galaxy, but he did not want to believe rumors. He wanted to hear the truth from the Prince himself, Valkyri-to-Valkyri. That was the honorable way.

So, it was that he found himself planetside on Voss, making his way through the temple -- the air rigid with tension and the serenity that it once held, forgotten due to recent events. He nodded politely to the various Jedi that he came passed by on his way to the Grandmasters office. He briefly wondered if the Lady [member=Coci Heavenshield] would be with the Grandmaster, it had been some time since he had seen either of them and he was certain with the events of late that the two would have the answers to calm his mind once more.

He passed through the threshold of the lift that would take him to the hallway leading to the Grandmasters office and inhaled deeply. He allowed his presence to flare through the God's sense to announce his presence to the Grandmaster, and the Lady Heavenshield if she happened to be with him.

Feel free to join in Coci, if you read this.

Following the events on Korriban, the Grandmaster's return to Voss was one wrought with guilt and a sense of defeat. The guilt stemmed from his inability to participate in the fighting going on in the sector, and the defeat from having his forces pull out to minimize further casualties.

Rather than being on the ground with his men, Thurion had stayed aboard his brother's ship to deliver his firstborn. But not even the birth of his nephew could help alleviate his broken spirit upon receiving word of what had happened; thousands of innocent men, women and children now dead and buried beneath the ruins of their own home.

This was not the Jedi way.

This was not what he'd signed up for when taking on the mantle of Grandmaster. This was not what he believed in. This was not what Master Asha had taught him growing up.

Now found within his office with the intention to spend some time alone with his thoughts, Thurion had poured himself a glass of blue milk when he sensed the arrival of one he'd only met in passing some time ago. Before the young Valkyri could knock or announce his presence audibly, the door to his office swung open seemingly on its own. "Please enter, [member="Máni"]," voiced Thurion before sipping on his blue milk. His face would appear a decade older than last they spoke, brought on by the stressful situation.

The walk to the Grandmaster's office had been a silent one, his mind turned deeply into itself, searching for the questions that would alleviate his confusion and calm the turbulence that he felt within his core. The attack on Korriban city shattered his previous thoughts on the Silver Jedi - no longer did he believe everything was as black and white as he wished it would be. The actions of the denizens of the galaxy did not operate on his belief system, and rarely were things as black and white as they seemed. That was why he wanted answers from the source, he didn't want to believe the rumors, he much preferred the truth and fact over what was whispered in the darkest corners of civilisation.

[member=Thurion Heavenshield] could give him those answers, though he was not certain whether he had the right to ask that of him or not. He was no longer a pupil of the Silver Jedi, he was an independent - a wanderer in a vast galaxy filled with uncertainty - much of which resided within himself. He didn't know what he wanted to be, where he wanted to go, what he wanted to do. He was practically a vessel of uncertainty and indecision. He hoped that his meeting with the Prince would ease his mind and solve some of the uncertainty that plagued his mind. Regardless of the outcome of the meeting, he would have an idea of what to believe and what he wanted to do.

It was to no surprise that as he approached the door to the Grandmaster's Office, it opened of its own accord, in direct correlation with Thurion voicing his acknowledgment of his presence in the vicinity of the office. He passed through the threshold unhindered and looked his Prince in the eyes, careful to note the troubled thoughts written in his features. The Valkyri boy paused in front of his Prince and bowed ever so slightly before beginning with a formal greeting, " Lord Heavenshield, I am glad to find you well. "

His icy eyes never left the Grandmaster as he took a seat directly across from him, his face carefully masking any emotion that he may have been feeling at the moment. It was likely that the turbulence of his thoughts could be felt by the Grandmaster, but upon seeing the older man having his own troubles, he wasn't so sure that he wished to add further to them. He came with the intention of getting answers, but he was not sure that Thurion would be willing, or ready, to give them.
