Public Trouble on Tatooine

It may have been that Sarad had been so focused on the presence he'd felt in the force that he'd missed the shot that had struck the trains engine but as he stood across from @Aaron Tafo he'd feel the velocity of the train beginning to decrease. The Train wasn't stopping but it was certainly going slower and this seemed to give him pause. He may have been considering what Tafo had told him but he was here now.

Outside of the train the attack occurring seemed to be of little concern to him. The Train was still moving, slower than it was but it came with its own defenses and Karkosuchus was in control of those and whoever was outside would also need to contend with that.

"The Crystals don't matter to me."

…he'd have offered, officially he was here to assist in the protection of the train and its cargo but Sarad has his own reasons for coming to this world. He was brought here, just like he was brought everywhere else….

"We have some time."

…his left hand would outstretch them, manipulating the essence of the force that hung between them before manifesting it as a Force Push. Tafo need not worry about it. The Telekinetic force was powerful but it only targeted the crate that held the crystals. Smashing into it the burst of force would have thrown the crate, upending it as it was flung wildly through the train car until its contents spilled, scattering across the floor.

In the same breath Sarad's right hand had summoned the lightsaber from his belt, it snapped into his waiting palm before igniting into a blade of white phosphorescence due to the barab ingot. An intense heat radiated from blade creating subtle distortions around it.

He raised the lightsaber, angling his left side towards Aaran Tafo Aaran Tafo while his right arm rose, elbow cocked back behind the shoulder and the lightsaber aimed towards Tafo's torso just below the shoulder. The Duster he wore was loose against his frame revealing a hint of the armor beneath it intermingled with his attire....

“Now would be a good time to start shooting,” she yelled over the snarling wind and squealing engines.

“Welp, here I go,” Sid shrugged.

Sid was more than prepared to begin shooting. After all, it was sort of his thing. He drew one of his pistols faster than the eye could see, his mechanical photoreceptor eye honing in on one of the laser cannons. As the cannon turned towards them, Sid fired off a single shot. It was all he would need. The bolt flew down the chamber of the cannon. For a moment, silence, followed by an explosion as the cannon went up in flames. One down.

“I can take out the rest,” Sid told Juno, “but I’ll need a better angle. Think yeh could do that, Mando?”

Train was picking up speed, as the cyborg pointed out. That much Siv could see with his own eyes, on top of his helmet's HUD providing a tactical feed that included the estimated velocity of the train. Kandosii was quick thinking, through, and threw what looked to be some sort of emp charge at the train's propulsion systems to slow it down. It didn't stop it -- unfortunately -- but the Mandalorians were beginning to pick up speed relative to their target.

Suddenly, laser cannons emerged from the side of the hovertrain, having been hidden in concealed panels. They swiveled, acquired their targets, and fired. Siv's swerve was too slow, and the laser blasted the speeder bike out from under him, launching the Karjr into the air. Fortunately for him, his jetpack was equipped; a second later, and his uncontrolled launch was stabilized as his thrusters came to life and began to propel him through the air, straight towards the train. A turret began to swivel upwards as it processed the new target, but Siv was quicker, firing a wrist rocket that exploded against the side of the hovertrain, turning the laser turret into slag.

Whipping to the side, he came to a rough landing on the top of the train. Rolling, he wobbled as he rose to his feet as the train swayed uncontrollably, and instantly the magno-locks in his soles activated, preventing him from losing his balance and toppling over the side. He drew his blaster pistol with one hand, advancing slowly to the hatch that lay on top in the middle of the hovertrain car.

Oh joy. This one was insisting on a fight. A sigh escaped him as the crate was upended, crystals flying every which way around the compartment. Aaran idly wondered if this one planned to pick them all up later? Because someone would have to pick them all up and store them away.

Honestly it was very unprofessional, despite the fact that his opponent seemed to be reasonably skilled, Aaran never so much as shifted from his position, aside from his hand lashing out to catch the odd crystal that flew through the air by him. Storing it away in the satchel at his side.

"You know those Barab sabers can cause cancer right?" He was never quite sure who came up with the idea to stick a radioactive rock inside a lightsaber and then feed power through it. But he questioned the wisdom of such a design. Let him have a magic crystal any day. It was the far more reasonable option.

Above his head he heard the solid thump of someone impacting the roof. A slow smile spread across his lips.

"Perhaps you don't have as much time as you think." He mused, one finger pointing upwards towards the hatch, and with a pop, it flipped open, giving Siv Dragr Siv Dragr the opening they needed to infiltrate the train. Adding more players to the game would offer the Jedi more opportunities to achieve his goal. There was no chaos after all, but harmony. It was not random chance that brought them all together. There was a plan at work here.

He was curious what his place was in it. Perform an exorcism? Rescue the crystals? Find out who stole them in the first place? He had many questions but few answers. Instead all he could do was trust in the Force and play it by ear going forward.

He still had not ignited his own saber, there was still a distance between the two Force Sensitives, but whatever his reasons, he seemed to be waiting for his opponent to make the first move. Would they attack the Jedi? Or would they exit through the roof and pick a fight with someone who seemed to be far more willing to throw down.

The Lightsaber, aimed towards @Aaron Tafo crackled audibly while the Jedi Master made his quip concerning the adverse affects a weapon containing a barab ingot could have on the wielder though it didn't seem to concern Sarad...

"I've lived this long."

...he'd have remarked in return though his attention veered from the Jedi only momentarily when he felt subtle vibration of the train rocking, an explosion somewhere on the outside caused by the destruction of one of the turrets. Then the gesture of the Jedi which caused the hatch above them to 'pop' open...

"Perhaps not."

...which just meant that he would have to act sooner, faster. Pushing off of his rear foot Sarad came at Aaron. It didn't seem to matter to Sarad that the Jedi's eyes were covered, he treated him like he could see.

Snapping the lightsaber back he'd have whipped it from its position angled forward and aimed at Aaron until it came back behind his head and whirled around to come over the opposite shoulder diagonal blow aimed at the Jedi's rear. At first glance it would appear as though the move was designed to give Aaron room to pass without much difficulty but Sarad would allow his backswing to follow through as well.

As his left foot planted he swung around too, the maneuver coupled with the footwork essentially a move made to allow him to pass to the opposite side of Aaron ensuring that if someone did come down through the hatch the Jedi would be between the two of them. It would be much the same if they tossed something down.

In any event Sarad's feet would shift, he'd feel the crystals beneath him having left them to scatter across the floor of the traincar.
