Strengths:
- Believed to be capable of destroying a planet at full power
- Relatively well defended for its size from starfighter and corvette attack
- Capable of orbital bombardment
- Incapable of actually destroying a planet at any power level
- Incapable of moving from the spot it is placed in
- Effectively useless for its 'intended role' once the "superweapon" is discovered to be fake
But one that she was able to replicate to the perfect detail was Trigon One.
The orbital weapons satellite had been developed by a criminal organization known as the Fromm Gang, and the blueprints for it had been sent to the Maw some time after the capture of the Fromm Gang by bounty hunters aligned to Jabba the Hutt. Simple enough to manufacture, and claimed to be capable of destroying a planet, Vanessa commissioned an exact replica of the weapon, Trigon Two, to be manufactured and tested on the dead world of Nathema. The planet was a void in the Force, after all - its destruction would not be missed. And if the tests went well, perhaps it would be worth mass-producing.
Of course, she knew it wouldn't work.
Studies of the Trigon One blueprints indicated that in every conceivable way, the weapon was a sham. It had potential as an orbital bombardment platform if equipped with the right weaponry, but it could barely penetrate the shields of a planetary base, let alone destroy a planet at full power as claims about it had been made. It was impossible to equip the small design of the weapons satellite with a weapon powerful enough to destroy a world, let alone a power source capable of powering such a weapon. The test article created a crater on Nathema, but it was capable of destroying buildings - not worlds. Still, the Trigon Two design was put into production after the test, with full knowledge that it would one day lose its purpose as a 'superweapon.' A Sith acolyte named Xavier Vi'dreya was put in charge of the program on Vanessa's behalf, told only that the satellites were deliberately being held back from full power.
Trigon Twos are based off the Trigon One weapons satellite designed by the Fromm Gang. Their main weapon is, as was equipped on the original, a powerful, exceedingly long range beam weapon, which could be maneuvered from an approximate 170 degree arc on the underside of the satellite. The original weapon was replaced by a DCMM-designed SBeam light beam cannon, modified to increase its range to allow for orbital bombardment, but otherwise having the same capabilities. Vanessa as well improved upon the Fromms' work, adding deflector shields, composite beam lasers, and flak guns for anti-fighter and anti-corvette defense. Maneuvering jets were as well installed on the satellite, allowing it to shift position - this allows it to bring its SBeam into play against smaller enemy warships.
On board a Trigon Two, conditions are spartan. These satellites are intended for limited continuous use and regular resupply if crewed, supplies lasting one week. As a result, there is space for approximately ten people in two cramped bunk bed-filled quarters on board the satellite, though it is more than capable of functioning autonomously without a crew. Trigon Twos can be remotely controlled by other Sith Empire ships, fed targeting data from the ship in question and effectively serving as a sort of heavy turret. Trigon Twos can be jumped from system to system, but must be towed by tractor beam-equipped ships to their intended location.
The existence of the Trigon Two is a well hidden fact within the Sith Empire, even within the Void Irregular Fleet where testing was commenced. More well hidden is the fact that the weapon is not the superweapon it was believed to be, though it is a capable defense platform and orbital bombardment platform in its own right. Upon the discovery by the Sith's enemies that the Trigon Two is in fact not the superweapon they initially believe it to be, all information regarding the project will be declassified and the extant examples will likely be disposed of through sales to the Commenor Systems Alliance, given their beam weaponry is sufficiently weak enough to be offered for export.
