Despite her strangely human heartbreak at the death of Galahad Io at the original Percival's hands, she was just as heartbroken over the death of the Original Percival himself, and in a twisted way is sincerely attempting to reach out with a gesture of mercy and kindness almost unfathomable to receive from a Brain Demon Cultist, suppressing most of the personalities of a fellow witch.
The Battalion committed countless violations of the Cult's traditions to create this item, and would be at risk of punishment herself were it ever to come out that she had made it. For that reason, she emphasized it's discovery would put all three of them at risk...yet whatever shred of Elaine Tear remaining in The Battalion compels the vicious Sith to take the risk, having become affected by a twisted Maternal instinct to ease the pain of a surrogate son.
