Strengths:
  • Medical- The Triage class Carrier is a large medical ship capable of handling any medical emergency that arises. It has state of the art surgical units and ICUs. It comes equipped with multiple bacta tank suites as well. It even has areas dedicated to highly contagious diseases, which includes fully equipped research labs for it. There are research labs in other parts of the ship as well to handle testing all kinds of problems. All of it combines to make it better suited in many situations to handle medical emergencies than a regular hospital could.
Weaknesses:
  • Combat- The Triage class Carrier is a dedicated civilian ship. This dedication to medical emergencies left no room for armaments of any kind. This is coupled with it only coming equipped with 1 deflector shield to handle fire from enemy vessels and a basic durasteel hull for a weak defense. The other 2 shields equipped on it are dedicated completely to handling environmental conditions and offer nearly no benefit to combat. While the larger hangar could contain starfighters, but that space is likely to be filled with shuttles to transport patients. This leaves it with very limited options for combat outside of dedicated escorts.
Description: The need for medical ships is never ending with the extensive violence around the galaxy. With such a niche in place, it only makes sense that Ashhearth Industries would try to profit from it. Not being a new field, the designers took all their experience in the field and went to work. It didn't take them long to come up with what ultimately became the Triage class Carrier.

The Triage class Carrier is built with the basic design of a durasteel hull surrounding an alusteel frame. Between is the starship parts and electrical components that make up the ship. Three shields were built into the ship: a deflector shield and ion shield for handling environmental hazards and a second deflector shield for handling sudden combat. Decontamination rooms were built into the forks of every hallway and entrance to every room of the ship. To go with this advanced ventilation systems, filtration systems, and medical waste disposal rooms were put in to handle environmental safety onboard the ship. Escape pods and a distress beacon were the last things put into the basic design in case of emergencies.

With the basic structure in place, the ship was given many other features to go with it. These included systems standard for all ships such as a communication system and advanced sensors. It was also given a HIMS system to help it avoid interdictor fields pulling it out of hyperspace. The main focus however was put into the extensive medical bays, living quarters, and environmental storage. The medical bays are all advanced and range from basic examination rooms to ICUs to surgical units. Rooms filled with bacta tanks also make up some of the medical bays. The environmental storage always any and all types of medical supplies to be stored properly. The ship was even given an extended hangar bay to allow a larger number of shuttles to be housed on board the ship to retrieve patients.
