Treasure Hunt: Shadowy Towns & Villainy Dens

ZJBTCYX.png
Treasure hunt time, folks. Been talking to Varanin and a couple of others, and we all agreed I got a ton of stuff, but don’t really use much of it.
So here’s a treasure hunt with a few goodies to win for those interested. The rules are identical to Varanin’s treasure hunts: wheaton’s law rules, don’t try to snatch a bunch of things in one post and just generally be reasonable.

I am not planning on DMing otherwise, so have some fun with it.

Nar Shaddaa, Shadowtown
Points of references: Map_Shaddaa,

After the One Sith’s defeat at Coruscant the balance shifted in the Galaxy. In response certain figures of importance fled Sith space, anticipating the One Sith to devolve into chaos and infighting.

One of these figures was a low-level Sith Lord with his entourage of scientists and engineers, rumors have it they stole a number of valuable holocrons from the Sphere of Ancient Knowledge on Prakith, formed by the late Carach when he was a Voice of the Dark Lord.

Knowing Carach by reputation, it is assumed these holocrons could contain anything from rare Sith Magic spells, to the hidden secrets of the One Sith itself, instructions on mentalism and more.

They deserted the Sith two weeks ago and recently resurfaced on Nar Shaddaa, where they made their home in the old Shadow Town. Him and his fortified it, hired local mercenaries to bolster their numbers against any number of intrusions. Intersections have turrets, there are guard towers and watch posts housing former sith troopers and mercenaries with expensive cybernetics.

This, understandably, upset a number of local crime lords who have banded together under the leadership of Jas’hutta the Hutt (don’t ask) and for the past two days have been preparing an assault on Shadow Town to root out the rogue Sith, which is starting any moment now.

Possible points of interests:

Watch Post Aleph: The first entry point into Shadow Town proper. The mercenaries defending the outpost are outfitted with propriety iBorg cybernetics. A particularly determined individual could reasonably salvage some of those cybernetics from the corpses, with some effort.

Intersection Cresh: The second layer of security is an intersection with a powerful turret, guarded by a couple of Sith Apprentices, some Sith Troopers. They are led by a Sith Knight wearing a specific coat. Also of interest, there are a few cages in their vicinity with some hungry and pissed off Terentatek - a possible liability or opportunity. Riffling through the pockets of the Sith might yield some additional objects. (Tag me and I will mention what you find.)

Crashed Transport: Close to the inner sanctum of Shadow Town is the burning wreckage of a troop transport that had managed to break through the fortifications. There are a few bodies with some possible goodies on them: one of them wears a partially busted-up razorhawk system, the dead twi’lek has a special eyepiece strapped onto his face. A sturdy chest nearby contains two electoray carbines and deactivated droid is leaning against said chest.

Inner Sanctum: A dead corpse riddled with bullets. Its still wearing its armor though it has some bullet holes in it now, also a particular ring on one of its fingers. Further exploration might uncover some interesting artifacts. (Tag me and I will mention what you find.)

Intersection Cresh

"Did you see that?"

"See what?"

"Something just crash landed, I think over there."

"Give me those."

Hala reached over and snatched the Binocs from her partner Draxel. The Rodian quivered in indignation and she grinned, shifting her wieght and pressing herself closer to the edge of the roof with her feet. They were posted up looking for folks to rob, more specifically a pair of speeders to jack, but this could work out too.

Depending on who else was there and what had crashed.

"I can't see anything farther than the smoke. We gotta get up closer."

"Can I have my binos back nerfherder?"

Hala shot Drexal a grin and tossed them into his scaly green hands, pulling her DL-44 from inside her jacket with one hand and pushing off from the dusty rooftop with the other. It would take them a bit to get past all the traffic on foot. And of course there was the local rebellions going on, so crimelords were pitting their forces against anyone unwittingly caught in the cross fire.

"We need to beat everyone there. Got any ideas?"

"Yep."

"Pray tell."

"So about those speeders, I think we might have just got lucky."

She squinted, pushing back a strand of brown hair with her black gloved hand and raised her pistol, peering through the scope. An there they were, two of what she only assumed was some Black Vulkars riding full speed down the avenue.

"Thinking what I'm thinking?" She asked.

A blaster shot rang out, sizzling a hole straight through the chest of the first rider. Hala had her answer and followed suit, winging the first one high left, then plugging the Gang member dead center in the head with her second shot....

Intersection Cresh, Nar Shadda, 1500 hours.

As crowds of civilians screamed and ran away from the chaos caused by the crash of a transport, one man in a hood walked calmly through them in the complete opposite direction. To any who looked for no more than a second, all they would see would be the hint of a black beard under the cloth hood, and maybe the flashing of a blaster on his side. Rylan Thatcher had been trying so hard to keep a low profile since he had returned to this part of the galaxy, so that he could further institute his new persona as an actual person, not just an alias to cover up his old name. However, he seemed to be drawn to parties such as this, where power struggles abounded and prizes were in store. Word had come to him that a particular Sith Lord had bagged a bunch of holocrons, and that various crime lords were staging a coup to take him down. Rylan had intended on using this as a distraction, but it seemed the crash had done that job perfectly well enough. Soon, the voice of a man could be heard not too far off, and he took care not to get himself spotted too easily.

"You there! Stop standing around, and go investigate! If there are any survivors in that wreck, they need to be dealt with as quickly as possible."

The voice came from a man of strong stature wearing a brown duster of sorts. As the subsequent soldier ran off to check the crash, Rylan could sense the force within him. He was defintely Sith, but not the one who was behind all of this. Either way, with his own knowledge of combative force techniques somewhat diminished, and his absent sword, he wasn't looking for a battle with a Sith at that given moment. Taking a moment to shroud himself from any force users nearby, he crept quietly along in the shadows, keeping to the walls and watching his back.
