Development Thread: Running Loose in Paradise(acquisition of phrik)
Manufacturer: Travot Ravenna / Jedi Order
Model: N/A
Affiliation: Travot Ravenna
Modularity: No
Production: Unique
Material: Phrik, Shell spider silk, spun-plast, spacer's leather, armorweave, electrical components
Classification: Multipurpose medium armor (anti-energy focus)
Weight: 2 kilograms
Quality: 7

Special Features:

-Reversible: The first face of the tabard makes it appear to be a ornate dress piece with a gold and green checker pattern for formal occasions. The second face of the tabard is a plain creme color, making it appear to be very similar to the tabard worn by Obi-Wan Kenobi during Episodes II & III, which is how Travot normally wears it during everyday activities.

-Big Shock: The tabard incorporates Corellian Personal Defense Big Shock lacing woven into the outer layers of both of the tabard's faces to act as a nasty surprise for anyone who likes to get too physical.

Strengths:
-Energy sponge: Travot's Tabard is primarily designed to protect against energy attacks such as lightsabers, blasters, force lightning, etc, primarily from the inherent properties found in its materials, but in also in part because of is base conceptual design derived from link armor.

-Lightweight: The armor is fairly lightweight in part because of the materials used such as phrik, and in part because it only protects a limited portion of the body.

Weaknesses:
-Limited area of protection: The Tabard really only protects the torso and part of his upper legs, but even then, it does not fully cover those body parts. The V-neck shape provides an exposed target area from the upper portions of his neck to just below the sternum, and it opens up again before it reaches his upper leg. Likewise, like most tabards, it does not cover much of either flank of the body. the armpit down to right before the belt is completely exposed.

Description: Travot Ravenna's Tabard is a rethinking and merging of two pieces of traditional piece of Jedi clothing: the tabard and the now ancient and rarely used link armor. The core of Travot's tabard is based on link armor even though its in the shape of a traditional jedi tabard. There are two layers of finely wrought interlocked links separated by a thin sheet of armorweave so that each layer do not rub up against each other. Each link is composed of phrik and coated in insulating spunplast. Like the original link armor, this layer primarily provides protection against energy attacks, though it provides some protection against melee weapons and low-velocity kinetic weapons (it will likely do very little against modern slugthrowers and similar high-velocity attacks). These link armor layers are then covered by shell spider silk acquired through trading during his adventures on his tramp freighter, the Plainswalker.

Neither of these two spider silk faces on the tabard were originally destined for him however. The first was simply uncolored scrap material in a variety of colors. Travot bleached these scraps and sewed them together to get his rustic, common wear layer that appears to be a creme color. The other layer was originally an armor vest destined for a nobleman of http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/House_Cadriaan[/FONT]]House Cadriaan, but the man died in a lightfoil duel before it could be delivered. The symbols on this face of the tabard are actually from House Cadriaan, which sometimes puts the man in an awkward position. Because of this, he typically does not wear this face of the tabard near the Core Worlds or among people who might recognize the symbols embroidered across it.

Partially woven into these outside layers is Big Shock lacing. Each face is supplied on a separate circuit connected to a different powercell. Each face's Big Shock lacing is activated by a trigger mechanism through the Force not unlike that of his lanvorak. Because of the small size of the power cells integrated into the tabard, each one only has enough charge for two uses.

Finally, this tabard is secured by a Phrik-based metal belt covered in black Spacer's Leather. It doesn't do anything special, but ensures that the ends of tabard don't flap around like a pair of wings while the jedi is moving around in combat.
