Because of this, the saber holds great sentimental value to Travot. He views it as a reminder of the man's legacy, and frequently feels more calm and collected with it in his hands.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]Description: [/SIZE][SIZE=9pt]When Travot Ravenna first joined the Jedi Order, he used the lightsaber of his first master, the now deceased Marcus Wurth. This blue-bladed saber had a large bell-shaped emitter and always felt a little too heavy for his liking. He decided to tinker and modify it during his spare time as he gathered materials and learned more about the lightsaber's construction. Several months of tinkering later, almost half of the lightsaber is entirely new. The saber's hilt remains conceptually the same: a simple straight hilt large enough to be used two-handed as needed, but still small enough to be easily manipulated one-handed.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]Travot started by adding a second focusing crystal, a relatively common mephite crystal he found on Ilum during an expedition there under the supervision of Sor-Jan and Tyl Ro. This crystal was installed to work with the new dual-phase components. Rather than making it a larger blade, when the dual-phase switch is activated, the saber's blue blade shrinks down to two-thirds of its size and becomes a turquoise color. Travot typically uses this setting when he's in more of close-quarters situation where he's worried about potentially damaging the environment or others around him such as when he's in the tight confines of small ship. Like other dual-phase lightsabers, he can also modify the blades width, in this case by the small dial located near its blade emitter. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]His next set of modifications changed the elements of the hilt, primarily for ergonomic reasons. Travot stripped away much of the heavy trimantium casing to lighten the hilt, and covered the area he removed it from with spunplast, to both insulate the hilt from his hand and to provide a better grip. Travot also reshaped the beam emitter, making it efficiently compact and more flush with the rest of the hilt. Because of the age and wear and tear on the saber, he recoated the emitter with phobium.[/SIZE]
