Training Sin (Kära Vi'dreya, Thyrian Ashborn)

Sin skipped happily through the corridors of the ship. He was wearing his favourite outfit, his hair clean and neatly brushed down; all in all, he was almost completely unrecognisable as the thin, scruffy little boy who had lived in the streets of Coruscant only a short time ago. His eyes gleamed with excitement as he made his way towards the ship's training room as Kara had instructed him. As far as Sin was concerned, this was the first step towards the power that had been promised to him, and a step closer to finally being able to get revenge on his family... That was what really mattered. That and owning the Galaxy, of course. But his revenge had to come first and no one, not even Kara and Thyrian, would be able to stop him achieving achieving that exactly when he wanted it. Sin was determined of that.

Stopping as he eventually found the correct room, he hesitated slightly and bit his bottom lip. Almost immediately, he shook his head and growled at himself, forcing him to snap out of it before taking a deep breath and striding up to the door, smiling slightly as it opened. Sin slowly wandered inside, looking around the room curiously, his eyes hungrily taking in every detail.

In the training room Kara waited, her hands clasped at her back as she monitored the door, two large shadows at her back; one was Thyrian, of whom Sin had met, the other Skydd, one of her two droids. The room itself was bare, walls and floor all the same chrome which lined the exterior of the ship, the ceiling covered in block-lights which could be adjusted to mimic specific light intensities. It had not been too long since she sent for the boy that he turned up, which was a good start to his training; it meant he was somewhat reliable even as a child. "Good evening, Sin," she said, although whether the boy had any idea of the time of day was beyond her - it was difficult to gauge the passing of the hours when you are travelling upon a ship through space. With a gesture of her hand she urged him to the centre of the room.

"You are already somewhat potent with your Telekinetic abilities, whether you realise it or not, so today we will be building upon that. But know that practise cannot come without theory; What do you know of the Force, Sin?" It was a difficult thing to answer at the best of times, for who truly knew what the Force was? One could only really speculate, but it would be interesting to know what he had heard prior to her picking him up, if indeed there was anything at all to be said by him.

Sin moved quickly into tthe centre of the room, wrinkling his nose slightly as he thought. "The...Force?" He had heard people on Coruscant mention it, but had never paid much attention. Nonetheless, he slowly stammered through what he thought he could remember of it, determined to make a good impression. "The Force is...I-it's a thing...and only certain people have it... And there's Light and Dark. The Jedi...they use the Force to try and do good...?" He looked up at the trio in front of him, clasping his hands together behind his back as he wondered if he'd described it correctly and sufficiently enough.

The Ashborn stood quietly, observing the young boy. On the outside he looked as innocent as can be, but he knew that within him lay dormant a need for vengeance, a thirst for power. He could feel it festering inside the boy, aching to come out and take over. Much like himself, in that regard, yet Thyrian had never felt the need for power as many Sith do. Maybe it had something to do with having been subjugated by his master, but that alone wouldn't eliminate the very foundation of the Sith as a whole. No, it was something else. Introspection aside, this was a time for the young Sin to become aware of the power hidden inside of him, to unlock it and mold it into his own to use. The transformation from blissfully unaware to sudden realisation was something the Ashborn had little experience in; he had had his power since his creation, and already knew how to use it, though not how to control it properly. That was what his master had assisted him in; learning how to control and focus his powers to suit the situation. The boy now standing before him was to be submerged into the deep abyss that was the Force, and unleashing the secrets within. And so the Ashborn stood quietly and watched...

Raising a hand in thought, to touch the tip of her chin, the woman contemplated Sin's words. Truth be told what more could she expect from a child raised upon Coruscant? But it would not do, no... She had to twist his beliefs in her favour if she were to ever make progress with him. "Sort of, only the Jedi have it all wrong" with a sly grin, which was disguised as a kindly smile, the Knight stepped closer to the boy and settled a hand in his hair. "Do you remember what I told you about the Jedi, Sin? They're not good, not at all, they just pretend to be." Crouching down to his height she settled her hands to either side of his body, on his upper arms. "They are not natural, they keep themselves from feeling that which nature, and the Force, intended. They feel no passions, no love, no hatred or anger, they are not like you, no..."

No, she could feel the emotion welling up in this little one, ready to be released, and who was she to deny him? "The Force is not something to be seen nor touched, although it can be felt as can the outcome of its usage. It is there for us to use, to be fuelled by our emotions, our passions, to be harnessed as we please. The Bogan is the true use of the Force, there is no light nor dark, Sin, only the Bogan. The Jedi make a mockery of it, but we show it for what it truly is. Even you," with that she tipped up his chin and stared right into his eyes, "when you moved the droid, that was your emotions calling to you. That was the Bogan. Do you understand, Sin?"

Sin looked into Kara's eyes and nodded slowly, mentally storing away the information. "When I did that to the Droid, I was angry. I can only move things when I get excited or upset." He tipped his head to the side, looking at Kara curiously. "So...if I let myself feel those things...I can move things whenever I want?"

She could not help but chuckle as she ruffled his hair. "It's much more refined than that, little one." Standing back to her full height she pondered on how to explain it. "You can do it whenever you please, with training. Which is what we are here for, is it not?" With a gesture of her hand Kara called forth one of the few items the room bore, a small training lightsaber, a hilt which had been modified so it was lower in intensity than your standard lightsaber, resulting in burns and stings but little else, it was not a deadly weapon. He would not be claiming this as his own for some time to come, but it was an item he would be able to practise honing his telekinetic skills on. "Sit, and focus. Draw upon the emotions deep within you, I know they are there - think about your old family, Sin, think about what they did, and rather than letting the emotions rule you, rather than allowing them to dictate what happens, I want you to take control of them. Use them and focus on moving this lightsaber hilt. Like you did with the droid." Then she lowered the Lightsaber she had levitated through the Force, bringing it down to settle at his feet while she stepped back to watch and wait on the results.

Sin sat on the floor and crossed his legs, folding his arms across his knees as he stared intently at the weapon. He frowned slightly in concentration, thinking of his old family. Soon, the familiar anger began to bubble up inside him and Sin bit his lower lip in his effort to harness the anger and control it. Hesitantly, he unfolded his arms and reached out a hand to the Lightsaber, holding his hand just above the hilt. He made sure to keep the images of his parents at the front of his mind, allowing the endless waves of anger to flood through him. Taking a deep breath, he flicked his wrist slightly and the Lightsaber was sent spinning away from him, crashing into the wall. Sin immediately froze and slowly looked up at the trio, wincing nervously.

She made a very subtle "tssk"-ing sound, shaking her head slowly as she stepped forwards towards him. Extending out a hand she called the lightsaber back to his front, and gestured for him to try again. "Focus, Sin... The Force is yours to command, do not let it command you." While she had to encourage him he also had to know discipline, no matter how brief. Her slight disappointment shown was like that of a Mother - it wasn't meant to be harsh, it was there to be constructive, to push him further into encouragement so that he could perform at his best. Crouching down to his side she settled a hand upon his shoulder. "Close your eyes a moment, Sin, and focus. Be the calm in the centre of the storm that is your emotions, and control them, and the Force, through it." Remaining there at his side she hoped this might give him a better insight into what would be expected - in many ways it was a tall order, he was only ten and new to this, but you could only learn through doing.

Sin let out a heavy sigh and slumped slightly, running his fingers through his hair. This was obviously going to be harder than he had thought... Clenching his jaw, he closed his eyes tightly and tried to concentrate. The anger quickly built up again inside him - this time, anger at himself for failing - and once more he tried to harness it, and the Force. In his mind, he pictured little coloured strikes of energy running through him and again he reached out his hand towards the Lightsaber. He imagined the energy running down his arm to his outstretched hand and shooting from his fingertips, pulling the weapon towards him. Screwing his eyes shut in concentration, he focused all the internal power he could muster into lifting the Lightsaber up and into his hand. Suddenly, he felt the cool hilt of the weapon brush against his palm and he was immediately pulled back to reality ss he gasped and opened his eyes. He saw the Lightsaber hovering a few inches in the air before it dropped back against the ground with a loud clatter.

Having stood quietly and observing the process of young Sin learning the basics of utilising the Force, Thyrian was impressed at the evident anger building up inside of the boy; pure, raw hatred. It was something they both shared, though he hoped for the boy's sake he did not have an uncontrollably rage-filled inner being inside his little body. No, there should only ever have to be one Ashborn in this world. It would not, and should not, be considered a gift, but rather a curse. Without him wearing his suit, he would have incinerated everyone and everything inside the room by now - the three beings he found himself caring for the most, at that, and one of them was a droid. He will never experience touching another person without running the risk of causing serious injury to them, nor feel their touch upon him. It was the one thing tormenting him the most since his awakening.

When the hilt was dropped onto the floor a second time, after having been levitated by the will of young Sin for a few seconds, the Ashborn stepped forth. Slowly and calmly he paced towards the tiny one before kneeling down and picking up the hilt with his massive hand - compared to that of the young boy - and proceeded to levitate it across the room over to his master. Getting a close look at the boy in the process, his soulless, glowing eyes penetrated those of the boy. A silent moment followed, with the two looking upon eachother. "IT'S ALRIGHT, YOUNG ONE." He then grabbed hold of the little one with both hands in a steady grip, lifted him up into the air and settled him against his armoured chest, carrying the boy's weight with his one arm effortlessly. Standing back up with the child latched onto him, he turned and walked towards his master with little Sin along for the ride. "MASTER... THE LITTLE ONE NEEDS A BREAK. I BEG YOU, DO NOT BURDEN HIM TOO MUCH ALL AT ONCE." He did not know what had made him speak for the little one, but he felt that same strong protective need as he did upon meeting Kära herself over a decade ago.

Sin clung to Thyrian, gripping his armour tightly as he silently marvelled at how effortlessly Thyrian was able to carry him. He yawned softly and rubbed his eyes, worn out by his efforts. He had honestly never expected it to be so much hard work....
Settling as comfortably as he could against Thyrian's armour, Sin turned his eyes on Kara at bit his top lip nervously, certain she would feel disappointed in his feeble efforts.

He had managed to lift the Lightsaber hilt, which proved he had gained more control over his telekinetic abilities than his former blasts had suggested. That was good, a step in the right direction, and it made her smile. When Ashborn raised the young boy up into his arms she took the lightsaber from within the air and directed it back to the small stand. "Very well, we shall take it one step at a time for now." Pushing him when he was still so new to these concepts wouldn't be wise, after all, so she inclined her head and extended her arms out, noting his worry. "Fear is for the weak, Sin, hold your head high and be proud of the progress you made today." Giving him the option to come to her, the young woman turned her gaze across to her Apprentice. Soon, she knew, he would be something other than that.

"Let us retire to the mess hall, it is late and you should eat before bed, son." Whether or not he came to her she wandered off from the training room, genuinely pleased with how this was going. Not because of his progress, although in part that was something to do with it, but because he was becoming dependant, craving her approval so to speak. He even clung onto Thyrian, which was a very good sign. They could use this to mould him, and when the time came he would no longer need them, yet he would still stand tall alongside them. Yes, things were falling into place. Soon his training regime would become much harder, however.

Bowing his head in gratitude to her lenience shown towards the young boy, the Ashborn turned his gaze down onto Sin resting against his head against his metallic shoulder. Such a tiny one, he was, especially compared to himself - all the more reason to care for him, he thought. It seemed Thyrian's emotionless exterior, both in and without his suit, held within it a great library of emotions without the means of expressing them properly. A gentle giant of sorts. As his master stepped towards the mess hall, he chose to follow her with young Sin clinging to him still. His weight was non-existant in the arms of the Ashborn, so he did not mind in the least. Carrying something so frail and delicate was a welcomed change of pace from the exhausting work he would normally carry out - be it an assassination or just simply carrying large, heavy objects. "If only the boy knew what I truly am..." he thought. "...I doubt he would be so willing to let me in so close."

Sin slowly relaxed as the giant carried him out of the training room and towards the mess hall. He liked travelling like this, he decided, a small smile appearing on his face. Being so high up made him feel...important. Yes, he could definitely get used to this. As they went, Sin found himself staring curiously at the armour that covered Thyrian. Vaguely, he wondered to himself what it was for; Thyrian was so huge that surely he could send any attacker flying before they even came close, and anyway it wasn't as though he would be attacked on the ship... With an innocent curiosity, Sin began trying - as subtly as he could - to look for cracks and joints in the armour that he could maybe look through to help him discover the mystery.

Noticing the investigative behaviour of the tiny one in his arms, the Ashborn wasn't worried that he'd find anything noteworthy; the suit was designed to protect those around him against his fiery nature, its purpose to cover every bit of him in armour. Should the boy managed to peel apart some of the plates or get a glimpse through one of the tight cracks, the dimly lit ship would not give away his appearance in either case. As such he allowed Sin to continue his investigation of the armour-clad man. Thyrian brought his metallic hand up to the boy's head and gently supported his head, allowing it to rest against his shoulder. This... caring, loving side of him was unexpected to say the least. At first it scared the Ashborn - his master demanded complete obedience and no signs of weakness. Did she consider love a weakness? He could not say, as it hadn't occurred before now. His fears were then quickly replaced by something else. It wasn't pride, nor was it inspiration. It was... hope. Hope that maybe he was not as monstrous as he previously thought, a senseless butcher-of-men and merciless destroyer-of-lives. This little boy had made him more human than he could ever hope to become. "Yes..." he thought. "...he will be a fine protegé, and carrier of the torch, after I'm long gone."

Once stepping inside the mess hall, he grabbed hold of the young one with both hands and slowly set him down in his chair. Their eyes met in the motion, and to Thyrian it was as if time stood still. Those young eyes penetrated his own, and brought the visions to life again, flashing before his eyes with vivid images. This... this was not the first time he had held a child in his arms. The visions faded after only a split-second, thankfully, and so he proceeded to place the boy in his chair at the table, which still had leftovers from their meal earlier. Deciding to leave the two to converse in peace, as he did not require food and did not wish to alert the boy to any suspicions. "MASTER, I TAKE MY LEAVE, WITH YOUR PERMISSION." With a bow of his head to the two of them he turned around and stepped outside, heading back to his private quarters aboard the Vhailor. This warranted introspection, meditation, and he found himself asking more questions, adding to his already long list with little answers expected in return.

"Permission granted" she simply said as she crouched down at the side of her 'son', gaze directed up at the Ashborn. Life will get harder for him, Thyrian, and you're going to have to take a step back from my teachings if you cannot bear to see him suffer. This she projected into the mind of her oldest Apprentice, just so that he was aware of the situation - not that he wasn't already. When he turned to leave she refocused upon Sin. "Finish up your dinner and then rest, we have a long day tomorrow." With that she rose up from the ground, fussed at his hair for a moment and turned on her heels, leaving him to his food. When she did so she wandered to his room to turn down his bed, bringing out a fresh set of night-wear for him. All of this was foreign territory for the woman, but it was the steps she was willing to take.
