Description:

The TR-20 is the latest multi-role fighter to roll off the Incom production lines. Currently only a few dozen have been manufactured and only Rogue Squadron have been trained for flight.

The TR-20 is sleeker than the usual X-Wing profile with dark gunmetal-grey plating. This is actually to reduce the sensor cross section of the ship. Whilst this is not a true stealth feature, when the S-foils are locked together and the low-emission engines are run below forty percent output the vessel is quite difficult to detect. This can enable Rogue Squadron to close on an enemy fleet without giving an advanced warning. As soon as S-foils are moved to attack position, or engines are ramped up for combat manoeuvres this vessel is nearly as clear as a T-70 on scanners.

The four engines are slightly different to the usual configuration. Each is able to switch output forwards. Whilst this is limited to around forty percent of typical output the ion thrust can be switched back and forth within a tenth of a second. This gives the TR-20 exceptional manoeuvrability and the ability to accelerate straight backwards should this be required.

As a multi-role fighter it can be loaded with two primary ordnance types. Brilliant Missiles, whilst expensive, have exceptional homing capabilities for dogfights. Larger Baradium Missiles give true punch against capital targets. A squadron outfitted for heavy assault is more than capable of bringing down a destroyer.

Each fighter has an advanced comms and tactical combat interface. Haptic feedback pads, multi-directional headsets and holographic projections across the HUD all combine to keep pilots the exact information they need, when they need it. This is customisable by the pilot, but haptic pads are usually used to alert the pilot to incoming threats that are out of the line of sight whilst the multi-directional headset will project the voice of fellow pilots in the direction they are located relative to the pilot. This also helps the pilot sort several simultaneous channels, such as squadron, wing and command together. Each fighter is also locked to members of Rogue Squadron as well as technicians aboard their base. If too many attempts are made to access flight systems without the correct passphrase and biometric security the computer will self-wipe, rendering the vessel unable to fly.
