  • Accessibility: Tortuga is a well known station only in certain circles. It's location is a carefully guided secret by Pirate Captains and crews around the verse. You'll need a special clearance code and several other wonky pass phrases to get in without being spotted as the yellow bellied land lubber you are!

  • Description:From the outside it doesn't look like much. Passers by might mistake it for just a wreckage, until they receive a Mass Driver fusillade through their vessel. The original Tortuga was a tangled mass of scrapped Starships, and weird arm like structure going off in every direction from a weak power core. Since then over a decade has passed and it now resembles a floating fortress, albeit crumbling on the outside. It's perfect camo.
SECURITY

  • Rating: HIGH

  • Multiple Pirate Crews and Fleets

POINTS OF INTEREST

  • Dark Star Cantina: The Seediest Cantina around this sector of the Verse. Posters of Famous Cap's and Ships adorn the walls, lanterns hang low from the ceiling casting a dull yellow light on everything. All the otherwise rusty or dusty wooden and steel surfaces are covered and plastered with stickers from different Crews, and their logos. The main attraction? The bar of course, which is fully stocked with ill gotten goods.

  • Drunken Freighter Cantina: Where the mercs and the savages hang out. Mostly upper scale from the Darkstar, but still pretty rusty. Notably has a few back room's for business deals, and armed guards, thanks to so many fights and brawls. You can still find just about nay pilot you are looking for here though.

  • The Old Throne Room: Farther up int the station is the old Pirate Throne where Asari Morin once sat. Since the Council of Captains was elected it has not been utilized, but closed off and put on display as a sort of museum. Legend has it he hid some treasure or wealth in the floor boards, or even in the bones of the room. Who knows? Nowadays it just looks old and rusty, and his banners left duster marks where they used to hang.

  • The Old Power Core: Since switching to a new Solar Powered system the old power core of the station is dormant, but still primed to activate. It is leaky and casts off a bit of radiation. The core is hollowed out for the most part, and only the deepest darkest creepy crawlies live in that part. Legend has it Reavers may even inhabit it. Most crews steer clear.

  • Pirate Archives: Herein lays the Pirate Archives. Messy, unregulated and moth eaten. In this part of the station you can find old and new computers, salvaged with multiple parts that don't fit. Also you can find books shelf after bookshelf of old flimsy parchment roils, keeping the histories and legends of great Captains and crews alive since possibly before the Gulag Plague.

  • The Chop Yards: Where Ships dock for repairs, or to be scrapped. In the upper and lower part of the station. Not much to this place. Littered with tons and tone of parts and Outlaw mechanics.

  • The Dueling Pits: A large arena dome in the station where folks can go to settle their scores in public spectacle, if they aren't settled in a good ol' fashioned Cantina Murder first. Also Gladiatorial matches can be held here.

  • Slave Pens: A fact of Pirate life. Where the captured are sold, traded of kept.

  • Stockades: Where the worst of offenders go to stay, before they are hung publicly. A small dank cell block, that houses the most notorious traitors or grievous offenders of the Pirates Code.

  • Court: A large circular meetinghouse with a bar, and some nice old time deco's. Where most of the Council of Captains meetings occur. Very plush and lavishly decked out with spoils and plunder. Might even catch a Wookie Skin rug, or a Gold threaded silk sheet in there.

  • The Companions Guild: Self explanatory. Here one can find solace in the comforts of the flesh and the soul.

  • General Store: Where ya can buy stuff.

  • Quartermasters Yard: A large warehouse structured dome that houses ill gotten gains. You can buy Fuel, parts, and what have you here. You can also fence off just about anything, even if it is still in it's original packaging and freshly plundered. They'll repack it for a fee. Then turn around and sell it for triple the price!

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Tortuga is almost as old as the emergent Galaxy after the Gulag era. Created originally as a project by various Pirate crews, it was conceptualized and designed by the then Pirate King Asari Morin. He scrapped what was left of his fleet, retaining only his Flagship to complete the project.

Over time more pieces were added and the station grew. Crews have had meetings several times here, never amounting to much other than bloodshed and useless slaughter. A majority of the Galaxy is still largely unawares of Tortuga as well.

During that era, RC 212 and his Deathwatch frequented Tortuga often, as well as various other Pirates crews, notably Captain Ironwolf and his men. After a brief surge in Piracy Tortuga faded out of memories of most folk, particularity around the time the Black Suns dissolved.

It's weathered the Dark Harvest, as well as several other Galactic events with ease. Notably it was not a heavily affected location during the Netherworld Event either. Now with sosuch free space around it, and resurgence in folks yearning to be free, it has grown back into prominence. Multiple organizations and Remnants now call Tortuga their home. Some companies secretly invest in the station, to keep their eyes on the rest of the galaxy and get easy Privateer Contracts.

After the disappearance of the Pirate King, the Pirate Crews decided it'd be best to have a council of Captains to call the shots concerning matters on the station and elsewhere in the Pirate Community. They meet once a year and discuss the Codes and agreements that are in place. Still it is a loose regulatory system, only punishing those who give away the stations secrets or raise their banners against the common whole.

Over the years crews kept adding and adding, until now it resembles more of a floating fortress, surrounded by Fleets and Fighters, complete with Three Satellite Defense Platforms, rather than a spindly, lanky scrap heap in space.

Still the station lacks shields as it always has.

The Galaxy once again grows smaller by the day, but Tortuga remains a bastion for absolute free trade and living. It is now more diverse and prominent than ever.

NOTABLE PC'S

[member="Kylie Talor"] This is a really nice redo/update of the original Tortuga. Just a few notes...

1.) SECURITY: For Security the rating of "Very High" actually isn't an option. You'll have to chose one of these from below.

2.) Traffic: The "Traffic" section, usually right above Description, is missing.

Otherwise, it looks good! Please update and tag me when you're ready. Thank you!
