Today's Youth [Tarazet]

Garang
Dantooine, Outer Rim

While still on Dantooine, Thurion decided to visit some of the many vistas found on the agricultural planet. Its grassy fields, vast achres, and far-stretching lakes made for a serene and utterly stunning feast for the eyes. First on his list was to explore its capital where he was bound to find the majority of the population, and were people dwelled, culture followed and flourished. The Oathkeeper found its own hangar at the space port, and while he would take a look around the city his trusty astromech droid, R2-T2 ("Teetoo" for short), would see to the maintenance of his ship.

Donning his usual black leather jacket and clipping his lightsaber to his belt, he stepped out of the hangar and into the hustle-bustle of the capital of Garang. One of the many things he found enjoyable when visiting new places was to watch the people living there, to get an understanding of how life worked and guess what their occupation was. Much of the people he encountered were humans, or humanoid, but there were also many other different species wandering the well-kept streets and going about their buisness.

He decided to pay a visit to the local marketplace, to indulge in the local food and flavour.

She had been on Dantooine for three weeks and in that time she had already traveled through the whole planet. Every field, every lake and every mountain had been visited and explored with the utmost detail, her focus had been concentrated in not leaving even the most remote of places unseen. Her perseverance was admirable, one year of exhausting days followed almost every time by sleepless nights had gone by and the silver haired young teenager still hadn't abandoned her enterprise. Hope was the only light left for her, the only thing that guided her with no promise that she would find her brother, but the odds of one to a million that she would come upon him despite the uncountable amount of beings that inhabited the galaxy.

The last week of her stay on the planet had left her lacking any spare energy and the little she had, which she needed to satisfy her natural needs such as obtaining food and water, she was willing to dedicate to exploring, once more, the capital of Corellia, Garang. Her pace was slower than usual and the tiredness that her body carried was more than evident in he young facial features that held a look of strength and maturity that contrasted with her age. Something told her that she would not find the man she was looking for there, but giving up hope would have meant giving up completely.

Around midday she had already explored the main streets, her next destination was the local marketplace that would most likely by crowded with humans and aliens, selling or buying all sorts of organic things. The amount of sentients that where in the market were far more than enough to make her uncomfortable but she would ignore it and search for her brother, even if the crowd made it more difficult to see. Tarazet was walking, her head slightly turning as her eyes analyzed everything around her, she was utterly concentrated in her task. She thought she had seen a gray head when she suddenly bumped into someone and due to her small build and light weight, that had been reduced even more this light year, she fell to the ground, landing on her buttocks. No harm was done either to her or to the blonde haired man she had bumped into, nevertheless, a cylindrical object fell from the waist of the man and with reflexes that where too fast for any ordinary being to do so, she quickly extended her arm and grabbed the unknown object in mid hair before it hit the ground, "I apologize, I was not paying attention." She spoke, her expression was serious but calm, somehow relaxing. Something felt different about this man, as though some sort of power or light was unfolded around him but she did not know what it was.

He'd only managed to get a brief glimpse of the marketplace before a young girl walked into him absentmindedly. He flinched at the sudden and unexpected impact, and in doing so the lightsaber he'd clipped to his belt had come loose and was destined to hit the ground like she had, yet she had managed to catch it. "By the Force, forgive me!" he apologised. "I didn't see you, there! Here, let me help you up, my dear..." He extended a hand for her to grab onto so that he could help her on her feet, should she wish to.

Taking a quick look around, no-one had seemed to noticed the two bumping into eachother so literally. He presented his open palm for her to give him back the hilt she'd caught mid-air. Once she did, he fastened it back onto his belt, making sure it would stay there this time. "You've got good reflexes, kid", he complimented moments before noticing a hint of that all-too-familiar feeling. Whether the girl knew it or not, the Force was with her.

"I'm sorry, I should introduce myself. My name is Thurion." He bowed his head her way, then glanced over at one of the many stalls selling various snacks. "Let me get you something for the trouble. It's the least I can do."

The Echani looked up, her silver gaze meeting the Jedi's eyes. By the way he moved and his expressions she was able to know he was being honest but she couldn't help but being cautious with people.

Once she had returned the metallic cylinder to its owner her gaze shifted, looking at the hand that was offered to her, she doubted at first but accepted the help rather timidly and stood up, letting go of his hand as soon as she was on her feet. She listened to the man presenting himself and knew that it was her turn. She kept silent for some seconds in which she thought what to say. Normally she would tell others her name was 'Acsada', but that strange feeling that she thought everyone had, told her that lying to him was not a viable option. Seeing as how Tarazet did not have any training in the usage of the Force, she was like an open book to him despite being force-sensitive, "My name is Tarazet...Tarazet Acsada" The young teenager answered, lowering her head and bowing slightly, it was not as deep as a bow but a lower gesture than a common greeting would require.

The man called Thurion then offered to buy her a snack. After he told her that, her concentration switched to herself and she realized how tired and hungry she was. The Echani was in no position to neglect the proposition, her body wouldn't last long before it reached exhaustion and right now she lacked any money with which she could afford food. Nevertheless, she did not accept the offer openly, "I-i do not wish to delay you, sir" She said, he didn't seem to be in a hurry but Tarazet didn't want to be a burden to no one, specially to someone who seemed to have good-intentions.

Thurion smiled at the girl as she introduced herself. "Nice to meet you, Miss Acsada. Sorry our first meeting had to include us literally bumping into eachother", he chuckled. He looked her over from top to toe, and was immediately struck by her silvery eyes and hair to match them. She looked slim and nimble, and she couldn't be older than 16. Force knows he sometimes wished he could turn back time a decade or two.

"No, no - it's fine! I have no appointments here on Dantooine; this is merely a friendly visit to the capital. Now please, I would be delighted to buy you something to eat. By the looks of you, you could do with something sweet." He then gestured for her to follow him to one of the merchant stalls, and after a bit of friendly banter between him and the merchant he let her pick and choose her favourites.

The two soon found a more quiet spot away from the traffic of the marketplace, on a bench carved from stone overlooking the vast lake. Munching on their snacks, he then turned to the youngster. "You know what I am, do you not?" he asked her, already knowing the answer.

Tarazet was behaving rather strangely, normally she would feel mistrustful around someone she did not know but now se was being timid. She felt absolutely vulnerable but not endangered and she wanted to know what was that set him apart from the rest, why she felt he was different from the other beings she had encountered up to now. The Echani teenager also examined Thurion, he had a strange hair color, or at least that's what she thought, "Nice to meet you too, Mister." She said, less shyly than before but not with full confidence and with a respectful tone.

After properly finishing the introductions, the golden haired man quickly dismissed her poor excuse and proved her assumption to be right, he did not had any matters to attend to and therefore, left her with no other reasons to neglect his kind offer. Tarazet's silver gaze was posed on the man when he mentioned sweets, for she had realized that a long time had passed since she had had any. Once he started walking she hesitated, the doubt was discarded after Thurion gave a few steps; she started following, walking to his right but slightly behind him. They went to one of the stalls and when Thurion finished his conversation with the merchant she chose some snacks, not as many as one would have expected, actually it was quite a reduced amount. When they where walking away from the market stall she looked at him and thanked, "Thank you very much" Her tone was relaxed and soft, a small, almost invisible smile on her lips, she was really grateful but did not have any other way of expressing it than saying thank you, she would have preferred to offer something back, some sort of gift but she had nothing of value. After some minutes of walking they found a quiet place, she could not see anyone near the area. Her eyes examined the carved stone bench that rested in front of the lake and where she sat with Thurion, its carvings where beautiful. She ate some of her snacks but despite being hungry she did not eat quickly. Suddenly the blonde haired man asked her a question to which she took a minute to answer..."What are you?"... She though. Tarazet did not know the answer to his question and so told him, "N-no" The Echani said as her gaze shifted from him to the lake, trying to decipher the answer once more but failing. Her eyes turned to him again. She was curious and so decided to ask, "Wh-what are you?" She inquired, doubting at first but finally gaining confidence.

"Oh... I'm sorry, I thought it was obvious", he awkwardly confessed. While not dressed in the traditional Jedi fashion, he still wore his lightsaber openly for all to see. Very few would bother him because of it, he'd found out. Apparently, this girl had never seen one until now, even as she picked it off the ground to hand it to him. He cleared his throat before speaking. "I am what they call a 'Jedi', a student of the Force and protector of all inncent people. I... don't know if you've heard of the Jedi Order before." He took another bite of his snack, savouring the sweet taste of it as he watched for her reaction.

(OOC: Sorry for the long wait! :()
