[member="Zreame Ithrac Zeibitha"], was a species Tarek had never seen before, but before he could say anything Mira stepped forward and introduced herself to the woman.
"Oh my goodness your a Cernun, never seen one of you before. I'm propositioning some adventurous types to take me to through the Dune Sea, are you by chance interested? Id love to hear more about your species. I hear Cernun are blind at night, is that true..." Mira said excitedly, prattling on.
Tarek watched Mira get excited over meeting the newcomer and concluded that Mira was definitely some sort of scholar, noone else would find meeting an alien so exciting. Tarek shrugged, their lenghty trek through the desert would be perilous and any help would be welcome.
"I am going to purchase our Bantha's and our supplies, I will leave you two to your ... discussion" Tarek said as Mira continued to talk at the Cernun barely pausing to give a nod to Tarek.

Mira had not made good on promise of 10000 credits up front but she had given Tarek just enough to buy supplies. Part of the Twilek wondered if the scholar would be able to make good on her promise to pay 20000 as a reward for the completion of their journey. To Tarek's surprise he wasn't anxious about the payment, something about their journey seemed right, as if was meant to happen.
Bantha's on Tatooine were a prime commodity. Not only were they an excellent source of milk and powerful beasts of burden but they were also held in high regard by many of the locals, including the sand people. Still Tarek was able to secure a small herd using the upfront payment that Mira had given him. They weren't the highest quality beasts but they looked hardy enough to make the arduous journey into the Dune Sea. Tarek found himself wondering why Mira was so adamant about travelling by Bantha. They didn't offer any advantage to concealment and they were much slower then speeders or skiffs. Even more expensive then the Bantha's however was water but it was the prime commodity that needed to accompany them. If they ran out of water, they might survive for a week or two on Bantha milk, but at some point even that would run dry.
Satisfied that he had purchased all the provisions that they would require Tarek, with the herd of Bantha's in tow began to make his way back to where he had left Mira, [member="Zed"] and [member="Zreame Ithrac Zeibitha"]. Tarek saw a dark hooded man standing approaching him and he felt a chill at the back of his neck. The man approached and asked in a flat tone;
"Bantha Herder, have you seen any of these individuals" The man held up a picture of a group of men and women in scholarly garb, among them was Mira.
"I am sorry stranger I have not" Tarek replied lying and the man continued to another bystander without another word.
Tarek looked over his shoulder to ensure he wasn't being followed and then hastened to where he had left Mira and the others.
