To Divide and Deplete (Public/PvE)

If you know the enemy and know yourself, you do not fear the result of a hundred battles.

Ord Mantell
Scraplands
Time: 6:22
"Good Morning people of the Scraplands, we are here today to give another announcement. The toxicity levels have reached an all time low this year, allowing people to walk out into the Scraplands properly in the first time in years without having to worry about a breathing mask. While we here at JAI welcome this, we must remind to keep breathing masks with you at all times as exchavations have started once again in the southeastern region with the possibility of finding yet another pocket of toxic waste. We will bring you more as time goes on, now the wea-"

The waitress clicked off the radio as people started to gather into a small dingy diner, located near the settlement of Joa as people quietly eating breakfast, enjoying the fruits they were provided from outside the Scraplands. Among them was Haon Hafey, eating a small Sweet Melon as it was cooked rather well before consumption, almost resembling an omelet from a distance. As he ate, others were talking about the new projects being done in the Scraplands which included lifting out an extremely old wreckage nearby. However the paperwork to get to that pile has been backed up legally as some older companies still have leverage over the area. Giving a small smirk, he twisted his fork to tear part of the melon to which an odd sound reached his ear. Looking rather swiftly to the side, he saw an old DX-9 Transport had landed and blaster fire was erupting from one of the abodes. Most patrons of the diner noticed as well as they started to come out in force, firing on the assailants as they went into the DX-9 rather quickly before departing, their clothing in rags.

It was over within a minute yet the mass confusion even got to Haon, not even knowing what had just occurred yet participated barely in the firefight. There was cries of people as he started to approach one of the main shops that had some of the more lucrative salvage in the region. The place was a mess when he entered the building, stripped of the rarest of parts but most notably, one of the prized treasures of his shop. An old holographic blueprint that once hanged on the wall since the days of the Old Republic. Looking to the side, he saw the male who owned the shop face down with a blaster hole in his side as people walked in to carry him out, hoping he will still be alive. Haon took another glance to the side as he noticed a symbol on the wall, one that he had ran into numerous times. The symbol of settlement Kaipa, one of the largest settlements in the Scraplands with over sixty people and were renowned for being raiders on top of salvaging. They had attacked the settlement of Joa before but never this way, not directly towards the shops. Turning away rather quickly, Haon Hafey exited the shop and went towards his speeder as one of the older people only watched as he went away.

The look on Hafeys face was only seen one other time like that, of a grimace and of a glare. It meant of war and when he declared it, it would only end in the destruction of those around him and more so, complete annihilation. Within half an hour, he would arrive at his workshop/facility and walked inside, starting to mess with the controls as he activated the Crystal-class Clawcraft for deployment, allowing it to warm up while also trying to get the missile launcher ready with four concussion missiles, not wanting this time at all, to be wasted.

One Hour Later...
The sounds of the Twin Ion Engine roared in the workshop as one of the workers came up, trying to talk Haon out of his effort for revenge. Whoever it was that was talking, Haon had a lot of patience for the individual as he kept calm throughout the entire conversation. Pulling on the gloves of his flight suit carefully, he started to walk towards the ladder as the individual tried to get in his way again, only to have the sound of a whirring blaster fire erupt in a blue cone, laying him flat on the ground. Haon held out his DL-56 right at the hip as he muttered an apology as he slowly holstered the blaster.

"Forgive me dear friend...but this must be done for Joa. By the time you awaken, it will all be over."

Walking a bit fast, he would jump carefully onto the ladder of the Crystal-class Clawcraft as the Ion Engine was roaring from warmup. It would take half a minute to enter the cockpit with him also closing the hatch and retract the ladder. Very carefully, he pulled down the harness and hooked himself to the controls as a majority of them were custom made only for his use. While it resembled an older TIE-model cockpit, it had a few extra switches, notches along with two additional control sticks on the top for control jet manual reconfiguration. Placing his feet on the rudder pedals, he breathed slowly as he nodded to himself, pressing the button for lift off as the Crystal-class Clawcraft rumbled to life, giving its distinct whine as he smiled for a brief moment and pushed forward...straight into the ground.

"DAMN IT! NO NO!"

Slowing the Crystal down, he was thankful no damage occurred from the take off failure as he carefully pulled down on the control sticks on top to readjust and orientate the craft as it was now horizontal on the plane. Making a mental note to not only needing to repaint the wings, but to also fix the control jet settings for gravitational purposes, he took it much slower out of the facility until he was completely out and with more determination, pushed the control sticks forward as the Crystal-class Clawcraft gave its distinct whine with a BANG, flying towards Settlement Kaipa to hopefully stop the attacks on Settlement Joa once and for all.

Settlement Kaipa
ETA on Arrival: 20 Minutes
The settlement was set on top of a large pile of scrap, one that has not been moved in centuries since the settlement was completed. The main reason it was constructed was from the large duracrete slab placed right on top of it which the slab came from a toxic dump site that had been shut down two hundred years prior. Since then, the slab has been the centerpiece of the entire Settlement Kaipa. On the four edges lie unique turbolaser turrets, able to aim down the corners of their settlement to deter unwanting guests. Laying near the center was a rather old missile battery from the Old Republic, carrying several concussion missiles for those who fly to close to the settlement. In addition to the missile battery, there was two DX-9 Transports along with six Z-95 Headhunters still laying in the open for the pilots. Landspeeders were almost far from none with the rest of the settlement comprised of housing and a large central storage area right at the center of the compound. It was noted to hold all the valuables from their raids and was sold every three months to outside bidders though of what types were unknown.

Inside, a large humanoid figure looked at the wall as a large holo-blueprint displayed itself, showing a diagram from a time forgotten. It was a beautiful blueprint by all means and was one of the few designs that survived beyond the Cold War so long ago. The silence was disturbed as a young human walked through the door, handing a small datapad towards the large humanoid, his presence starting to show to be a Devaronian with his curled horns. Studying the datapad for a moment, he made a simple motion with his left hand as it was some of their hidden sensors placed out in the wastelands, apparently detecting this new craft of Hafeys heading straight towards the Settlement.

"Ready the fighters. We will make an example out of him."

With the human nodding, the Devaronian slowly turned back towards the blueprint, staring for a bit longer as time slowly passed by, as if honoring the designs of the engineers.

HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)
[member="Haon Hafey"],

HK surveyed the ruins of Joa's market building after the faithful rain conducted upon them. Clad in dirty rags of desert robes, flowing coat, a concealing thick brim hat, and a black pair of goggles the machine tried to hide his nature as a droid the best he can, not to mention the expensive armor and Phrik body worth a fortune underneath the disguise which held many of his weapons gathered over the years, including a couple of Force-bound relics.

The droid would stroll the boulevard with the sound of glass crunching underneath his feet as the survivors tried to being rebuilding what they could of the settlement. HK did not venture out to the Scrap Lands or Ord Mantell often, at least not since ascending to his position of a Metal Lord, but even droids needed a day off from time to time, a moment to escape. For him it was going spelunking, or bounty hunting, or just adventuring in the more unruly corners of the Galaxy, and just so happened that this time around his destination was Joa. HK missed the raid itself, arriving just slightly after, able to see the fresh destruction and the trails of raiding ships disappearing over the horizon and the machine took it as his call to adventure.

Walking along the still smoking cinders and signs of battle HK would overheard a couple of locals talking about the raiders, mentioning settlement Kaipa. He would stop by, listening to as much as he could until finally the two locals noticed a rather tall shady looking being stopping within ear shot and fell silent as they looked to disguise HK, prompting him to give them a quick nod as if everything was natural and keep moving. A quick search of the holonet would give him a location of this settlement Kaipa and the droid found it to be a fine spot to try and stir up some trouble.

Perhaps he would be able to accompany one of the counter-attack parties, perhaps intercept another raider convoy, or manage to raid them back and run off with the loot they collected in their fortress.

Or perhaps unbeknownst to him other Metal Lords will interfere as well and foil his plans of having fun for once.
