- Eyes On The Skies: The Weaver's primary function is air defense, and large numbers of these droids can render a given airspace almost uninhabitable.
- Plodding: While it is capable of moving under its own power on even the roughest terrain, the Weaver is typically not quick to get there.
A mobile anti-air droid, the Weaver serves as a self-propelled SAM site.
Most commonly, this droid can be found guarding important forward installations in active war zones, constantly scanning the surrounding airspace for threats.
Should it spot one, the droid will react predictably: by unleashing an unending volley of surface-to-air missile fire upon any flying vehicles it does not recognize.
As it is equipped with a form of missile more commonly found on starfighters, it performs this function ably, and a number of these machines protecting a site can render it very dangerous indeed to fly over.
More insidiously, these droids are often used in to help enforce blockades when the Privateers are extorting a city or planet. Anything wishing to escape (or enter) the embargo zone must face the Weaver as its first obstacle.
Weavers have no hesitation or remorse, and will open fire on any craft they do not recognize, armed or otherwise. As such, it hasn't taken long for these machines to be roundly hated by Helix's adversaries. Few other droids exemplify the Privateers' pitilessness so bluntly as this.
