OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

  • Intent: To create creatures and critters that continue Lucette’s favorite thing, swarm tactics, this time in the form of creatures from swamps.
  • Canon: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: Murlocs, Kuo-toa/Kuo-toa, Gizka, Blurrg, Frog-dog
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Tivvark
  • Designation: Sentient (barely)
  • Origins: Valrar, from samples found in Lucette's grandmother's Sithspawn laboratory
  • Average Lifespan: 12–15 standard years
  • Estimated Population: Scattered – localized swarms, unpredictable propagation patterns.
  • Description: Tivvarks are amphibious Sithspawn creatures with squat, bouncy bodies, oversized eyes, and rubbery limbs. At a glance, they appear cute and harmless—until they begin chanting, croaking, and triggering belief-based Force effects. They are tribal, hyperactive, and capable of producing minor Force phenomena through ritualistic belief. Often seen painted in bright colors, they revere Lucette as a goddess and infest ruined temples, sewers, and alchemical spawn zones.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type I atmosphere and aquatic environments
  • Average Height of Adults: 0.7 to 1.1 meters
  • Average Length of Adults: N/A
  • Skin color: [Slick greens, reds, blues, purples, yellows, mottled patterns
  • Hair color: N/A, instead have fins, crests, or frills
  • Distinctions: Amphibious physiology with webbed limbs and large bulbous eyes; often marked with ritual paint or pigment reflecting their belief-color. Fins or frills vary across regions. Males and females are visually indistinct to outsiders. Aging specimens grow additional fins and sometimes warp in shape due to residual alchemical energies.
  • Races: None formally defined, though tribal color-cults dominate Tivvark society
  • Force Sensitivity: All, every member has minor Force sensitivity warped through their collective belief system
Strengths:
  • Belief-Powered Force Use: Through collective ritual, Tivvarks generate minor Force effects based on color symbolism, ranging from pyrokinesis to enhanced speed or precognitive luck.
  • Adorably Deceptive: Their small stature and squishy appearance causes most enemies to underestimate them, often fatally.
  • Force Scramble Field: When in large numbers, Tivvarks generate a form of ambient psychic interference, a low-grade, erratic background noise in the Force that can hinder Jedi precognition or disrupt meditative focus, particularly in battle.
Weaknesses:
  • Low Individual Intelligence: Single Tivvarks are barely capable of reasoned thought; their strength is in swarm-belief.
  • Biological Instability: Prone to mutation, combustion, or collapse under duress. Strong belief disruptions can cause entire swarms to falter.
  • Squish: There isn't an easy way to frame this, but they don't exactly have armor, although yes they can build armor, they're still squishy.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Omnivores. Eat swamp insects, aquatic flora, offal, and occasionally small rodents or glowing mushrooms. Lucette once caught one attempting to eat a kyber crystal "for luck." (it was purple).
  • Communication: Gibbercroak – a rapid series of hoots, croaks, body vibrations, and gestures. Psychic static may leak into the Force during large rituals. Lucette once jokingly told them that Jedi hate noise—which the Tivvarks now believe with religious fervor. As a result, they are loud on purpose, especially in combat, shouting their colors, shrieking songs, and banging weapons to "disrupt the lightsiders."
  • Technology level: Pre-industrial. Scavenges Sith artifacts and builds odd machines from refuse, which sometimes work through belief. They build things out of trash, fungus, and ritual. Yet somehow, things work... wrong. Or very, very right...
  • Religion/Beliefs: Tivvarks practice Mythic Psychotheurgy—a faith-based pseudo-Force tradition where colors dictate reality. Red = firepower, Yellow = speed, Green = durability, Blue = stealth, Purple = luck. Lucette is worshipped as the goddess "Shiny-Mother Boom-Fin."
  • General behavior: Tivvarks live in tribal communes led by the loudest or most painted. They are communal, perform ritual dances, and tell gibberish tales around mud-fires. Children are raised communally, painted in their destined color as soon as they hatch. Tivvarks may form temporary alliances with other Sithspawn, especially if offered shinies or bones. Typically tribes roam together and may develop specialities (skills, beliefs) according to the areas they prefer to roam around in.
  • Weaponry: Tivvarks use a mix of scavenged technology, improvised melee tools, and “belief-forged” weapons—sticks, bones, or junk painted and imbued with power through ritual. Color-coded belief governs their use: red for destruction, yellow for agility, green for defense, blue for stealth, and purple for luck. Though most weapons are physically unimpressive, their swarming belief can manifest real Force phenomena—especially when wielded in chorus.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Tivvarks were created as a whimsical experiment by Lucette, granddaughter of a Sithspawn geneticist on Valrar. Combining DNA from frog-dogs, Blurrgs, and contaminated Gizka with Sith alchemy and Force-rich swamp water, Lucette intended to create a population of low-risk, containment-ready minions. Instead, she unintentionally created a chaotic race of reality-warping amphibians whose powers depended not on training or instinct—but on belief.

Drawing heavily from the cultural structure of myths, Tivvarks developed their own cultic belief system centered around color-based Force expressions. Lucette, amused by their antics, allowed them to grow unchecked in overgrown ruins. Now, small Tivvark colonies are found in Sithspawn-affected zones, often painting their faces and chanting into the void.

While originally dismissed as a joke, Tivvarks have caused several containment failures and accidental detonations. Some Sith alchemists are beginning to fear the implications of belief-based Force access. Lucette, however, insists, "They're just little guys. They want to go boom. Let them."

Rumors persist that she is raising a "High Priestess Tivvark" capable of speaking Basic and casting full-scale Sith sorcery... but for now, that too is just belief.

It should be noted that Tivvarks reproduce twice a year, and only take about six months to reach full maturity physically, emotionally and mentally it takes about a year based on galactic standard calendars.
