  • Currently: Returning from failed negotiations, Tirin moves through temple life with patience, restraint, and the weight of an old loss still hanging at his throat in the form of a violet kyber crystal.

    OVERVIEW

    Personality

Cool, calm, and collected, Tirin is a logical individual who rarely shows his emotions in any vibrant manner. He is subdued, calculating, and languid in nature; contemplative, considerate, patient, and understanding. Slow to action, he prefers to move only after he has thought things through. Tirin takes a steady interest in others, studying people and their behavior, and he enjoys thought-provoking activities and problem-solving.

    APPEARANCE

Tirin is a short, slender young man with a remarkably light frame and a youthful appearance that often causes others to mistake him for someone younger still… or even for a young woman at first glance. Long dark locks frame a finely carved face, while pale skin and heliotrope eyes lend him a soft, unusual beauty.

    Notable markings:

    • Extremely light frame
    • Violet kyber crystal pendant once belonging to his former student

    TROPES

    • Diplomat Jedi
    • Calm strategist
    • Gentle but guarded
    • Burdened mentor
    • Beauty mistaken for fragility

  • Backstory

Tirin has always been interested in diplomacy. He never fully understood why his fellow Jedi failed to see it as an important part of their mission, though he learned in time that sometimes one simply does what needs doing. When the Council called upon him to become a Consular, Tirin accepted without hesitation. He had always wanted to be more than a warrior. The Jedi, to his mind, were meant to be protectors, not conquerors.

He saw himself as a protector first and foremost, and he felt that he had found a place where he could serve that purpose. As a Consular, Tirin was always willing to place himself between those in need and the danger before them. Sometimes that meant standing against injustice or tyranny. Other times it meant placing himself before the most powerful beings in the galaxy in service to his Duty as a Jedi.

Tirin's friends would say he is a little too laid back for someone so passionate about matters of state. They might also point out that while he is certainly capable, he does not especially excel in lightsaber combat or hand-to-hand fighting. It was his love of politics and diplomacy that drew him toward the title of Consular, and his compassion that drove him to step forward whenever something was wrong in the galaxy. His willingness to do whatever was necessary to keep the peace made him well-suited to the role.

His training did not end with the ways of the Force. Tirin studied diplomacy, history, culture, philosophy, economics, politics, and sociology. He learned how to speak to anyone, regardless of station or belief. He learned to listen first, and to understand what was needed before offering an answer. The Order is all he has known as family for as long as he can remember.

He lost a former student in combat, a charge too headstrong, brash, and wild in nature. Tirin blames himself for failing to guide them better, for failing to rein them in when it mattered. He feels his mistake may have been lenience, and he carries that guilt with him still. Around his neck hangs the violet kyber crystal that once belonged to that student.
