Abandoned Research Facility

The conference room was the only room in the entire facility that was not coated in a thick layer of dust. It was well lit, the long table was set with two large jugs of water and glasses for each attendant. At its head was not a chair, but a large holoprojector. The Instigator was not foolish enough to attend this meeting in person. No She was only to plant the seed, those that she had invited were more than capable of building their own plans, she would just bring them together.

And so it went, that each one of them received a message, anonymously. Some found it between data slates, others in their boots when they woke up in the morning, some received it whispered in their ears but any chance to trace the person who had whispered it was out of their reach. The message to all was the same.

Three have risen and fallen. A fourth rises and hides behind a treaty. This is not the way things should be. Change them.

Beneath the message were the coordinate of the research facility. Silent and empty save for one small device. A silver dragonfly sat upon the door frame. It wings flickered once, twice then fell still, eyes watching and recording.

Something was the first to enter, calling it a person would have been entirely wrong. The figure was cloaked, hooded and masked. Around it seemed to be a stink of death, as it moved across the world to attend the instigators meeting everything around it seemed to whither. Plant life died, animals shrunk away in fear, and the very earth seemed to tilt away from the strange being. It moved with a purpose that no one could guess, and it was the first to reach the research facility. The doors moved to open for it, though how it sensed the creature was a complete mystery.

As soon as it entered the facility the bleak halls seemed to become more bleak. The light dimmed as it passed underneath them and the very shadows seemed to grow smaller and smaller. Wherever it went darkness followed.

Quickly it reached the conference room, the creature walked through the door with no acknowledgments, no hello's, nothing. It simply took up a position in the corner of the room and stood. It watched and waited, its reaper like visage searching for something. Beneath that mask one could almost see a grin, a smirk that would be familiar to some.

Shinju moved after she had heard the message, the black ship a perfect way to get down and into there fast. It wasn't that she actually knew what was happening but.. When something whispers in your ears on your secret ship that a god gives you... You listen, after the stuff with Dharma on Utapau well the fun and games had only begun. Now she walked with a purpose skipping a little into the research facility until she came to where she was supposed to go. That was when it hit her.. Something she couldn't tell what was here but her senses weren't actually screaming. The knot in her gut as she entered the room taking in the sight of the man or thing or... something. All it made her feel was cold.

Then her eyes flicked around the rest of the room and settled on a seat as slowly Shinju sat down and looked at the door, her lack of force senses meant she only had the acute aweareness from the knot in her gut of the things location. Whoever brought them here had went for scary and crazy... Wonder who else was going to show up.

Reek had received his message through an accomplice of his that he met long ago. His interest was piqued and he had no choice BUT to accept the invitation. He raced to The Anubis had shipped off to the coordinates that were relayed to him. It was a strange facility he had neither seen nor heard of. Tae had walked off his ship wearing his regular black and orange armor and proceeded into the building.

His footsteps echoed through the long, dark halls of the facility and the buzzing of the overhead lights were beginning to become an annoyance. The meeting room was only occupied by two other beings. Two he had never seen before in his life. He took his position at the only somewhat well lit corner of the room and crossed his arms, awaiting for the reason behind this meeting.

After many had gathered, a shadow lingered into the meeting room. Drenched in black cloaks and black robes underneath, this relic of corruption ventured closer into the room. Her red eyes glowed in ancient passions. Raising a pale hand she rested her chin upon it. The Lord of Shadows watched the room and hissed a lowly greeting, "Dark minds conjure dark beings," she hissed in amusement, continuing, "Darker still the ambitions they conjure together." Releasing her chin from her grasp she moved into the room and approached a seat. Resting her white fingers on the arms of the chair, her skeletal fingers wrapped around the edges.

Her eyes surveyed the room. Some familiar faces and others too obscure to notice or just new. It seemed that the remnants of the days of her Knighthood under the Sith had gathered. Something not to particular to their tastes had come about.

Dissero had little in the way of social interaction recently, given his penchant for taking things that probably weren't really his, so how the message for the clandestine meeting reached him was anyone's guess. The truth of the matter was it had shown up in his mail server at the now barren Imperial Vaults and Archives on Rudrig. The holonet being what it was the note had easily enough found its way to the appropriate eyes during a lull of activity while on the lamb.

The Master, and now Breaker, of Vaults was intrigued, but not enough to risk his neck.

The door of the chamber hissed open once more, permitting not a man or beast, but a mechno-chair that had at one point in time called the Imperial Vaults its home. The thing was terribly old, crudely repaired and now heavily retrofitted to escort a one holoprojector and encrypted signal array for real-time communications along with several other personal mods that may or may not come in readily useful. Truth be told, he'd had quite a bit of fun retro-fitting the thing for this meeting.

The slow, rhythmic sound came to a halt as it reached the far end of the table and like a crab settling into sun-soaked sands, the mechno-chair hunkered down, gave a hiss and began transmission. Atop the crown of what once served as a seat the holo-projector sparked to life, bringing forth the blue flickering image of the man known to most as Lord Dissero. His image was quite likely the simplest of those present: he wore no fancy gadgets of any kind or presumptuously flowing cloaks. Unassuming was the game, as it always had been - bland robes of ... well, blue as current technological limitations gave, that draped loosely over his form, effectively hiding the brawn beneath. He stood quietly, patiently, hands clasped at his back in a wide stance, awaiting the commencement of what he hoped to be the next big intrigue of the galaxy.

Entering the conference room in which Fen and Mordin were, Marcus felt somewhat overwhelmed. Maybe it was the whole, 'you're completely and totally outmatched by these people' part of things, or it was the scale of what he had a hunch was going on. They wanted to break the treaty between the Empire and the Republic, an reignite the flame of war. Wonderful.

He took a seat opposite Tae Reek, a Togrutan apprentice. And Faust though he would've been in trouble if things got violent for some reason. The underling would be taken out within seconds by anyone in the room, well almost everyone. Shaking his head Marcus focused on the matter at hand, sitting quietly with his eyes forward.

The silver dragon fly moved again, its metal feet making soft clinking sounds against the door frame. Its wings fluttered once more before it took off, silent save for the soft hum of the motors as it passed over the table hovering for a moment at the tables head before settling on the surface, black holocamera eyes looking at each face. Behind it, the projector came to life.

A blue image flickered, revealing a slender form standing, hands clasped behind their back, feet set apart in alignment with the shoulders, face utterly concealed in shadow by a hood. "Well, well, well." the voice was distorted, perhaps deliberately, or perhaps by a poor connection. From beneath the hood the Instigator watched them all. "Sith from all walks of life have come, united by a common cause. What a rarity. And none of you knew the other was coming. Make note of who stands with you today, for they are likely to be the one to stand at your side in the times to come...or perhaps drive the knife home." She chuckled.

"I am the Instigator, and I have called you here, because it is time for change. And change cannot happen unless those who want it unite."

Juthan entered and pulled his hood tight around his head, his robes ragged and tore yet they concealed his features and the holorecorder he had brought to review the information at a later time. As he sat in one of the chairs of the conference room, waiting for this to proceed on. He was here to determine whether he should support this or not and if it was going to bring his higher ups in more income or less. His loyalties to the sith did not matter at the moment, as both sides of this fight were made up of sith so why support one side over the other when you can pick a third party to influence your decisions. (Robes are the ones in the Signature.)

Whoever this Instigator is, they seem hell-bent on destroying the Order that's been instituted. Standing away from the others, leaned against the wall, Darth Ithari listened intently. To his right was his droid, Mar, and the seven foot construct was hidden behind black robes as well. Red photo-receptors took the scene in and recorded all that it could, while the man behind the visor took the speech in himself. Duraplast plates grated against each other as he shifted his weight, and the Iron Skin armor weave he wore underneath clung to his powerful frame. To the other Sith he'd just be a powerful man in armor to whom his identity was a secret, the truth was much deeper than that.

This was Velok's fault.

The elevation to Sith Lord was mainly due to skill and knowing who the Emperor was personally. They had shook on their differences and let bygones be, there were much bigger fish to fry in the galaxy. What was going on on the other side of the galaxy had allowed him to change his name, to those poor souls who worshiped him he was Ithari now. It had allowed him to disavow the name that would one day be tied to helping Velok destroy a system of worlds between the Protectorate and the Republic. Jacen Cavill was no more, nor was Kryptus. It was a shame to let it all go, but sometimes what was necessary wasn't fun. It simply had to be done to protect himself from governments hoping to hunt him down, as well as his secret life.

No one needed to know where his personal money came from, or who was really making their guns.

That was all of little consequence, but he did make his presence known after the Instigator spoke. So he stood up, and took a few steps towards the center of the room. His voice was distorted coming from his helmet, but it carried the weight of his power behind it. "Define unite, when you're asking us to destroy that which was supposed to unite us in the first place. If this is a coup you seek, it will take more than a room full of darksiders. However powerful we all are, an army would eventually kill us all, and I only see a few in here that could pose a challenge to the Umbaran."

Juthan looked over, his features still completely obscured as he spoke. His voice was mutated and morphed to hide his identity best he could, there was no need for him to reveal such to a group that was mostly unknown to him. "If your planning a coup im out, i am here to listen to the chance of tearing apart the treaty. Not to plan another coup so soon after the last one, that would only shatter the sith in the end and make us weak." He looked around at the other's reactions to both his words and that of the man with the droid, at least with his guise he could have some useful imput without being scrutinized for being a apprentice.

The Instigator snorted with derision. "A coup? Overated, old fashioned and generally end with a leader constantly looking over their shoulder. Besides which, why would I want to rule over the Empire? Its full of backstabbing pretentious fools." She shrugged the matter aside and shook her head.

"No, no coup. Call it...a rebellion if you will. A rising protest against the treaty, something that demands that your dear Emperor answers for the call he made to allow a Republic Embassy on Dromund Kaas, for a senator to sit on the Moff Council. A non aggression pact. How long have you been building the Empire, developing resources, ships and soldiers alike? Tyrin flinched at the first sign of aggression. The Jedi attacked Metalorn, and he ultimately bowed to them. He needs to feel the consequences of his actions."

Tae was leaning against the wall with his arms folded up until the Instigator revealed itself. It was then Tae seemed to stand in more of a gentleman's posture: up straight and head forward towards the hologram. His eyes scanned each patron of the room before fixating them upon the hologram. He reached into his robes to seemingly scratch his chest, when in reality he activated his recording device once the being shown in the hologram revealed itself. He stood there without a word or even a slight sound. He was there to listen, smile, and nod. Nothing more, nothing less.

The creature in the corner of the room said nothing. It did not move or shift about it did not pan its head from side to side or anything of the sort. There was no words from it, and it seemed to be entirely complacent with just standing there. It said nothing when Cavil spoke up, and it continued to stay silent when the instigator spoke again. The Black pit of a creature simply stood in the corner of the room, watching and waiting for something else to happen.

Marcus took in the words of both the Instigator and Ithari. Both were speaking the truth. Emperor Ardik had bowed to the Jedi after Metalorn, backing away from conflict as a small child would to some local bully. It was pathetic to say the least, and Faust needed the Republic gone in order for his plan to play out as it needed to. And history made it clear that it took millennia of planning for a single man to bring the Republic to his knees, and even he needed help. So Marcus, a simple Knight at the moment, would require assistance, a kind that came with legions at your back, and powerful Sith Lords at your side. Or you at theirs, it mattered not.
