Time of Learning (Cyrus)

Rafeesh come to the decision to take on a padawan. It was not an easy choice, being uncertain of whether he was up to the task or not. This was a big and perhaps the most important event in his time as a Jedi. To take on the next generation of Force users and to teach them what he knew. That was the most important role a Jedi could take, a teacher. But Rafeesh was unsure if he was ready to be that. A warrior for so long, he would continue to fight on the front lines and stick it to the Sith.

But he had been encouraged to take on a padawan and to teach. Mantic, his old master had suggested that Rafeesh try to pass on what knowledge he had. This was one of the main reasons that Rafeesh had accepted [member="Cyrus'Relk"] as a learner. He was to meet his new padawan soon. The Jedi Temple was nothing compared to the one on Coruscant in the old days, or that on Tython. But it was a place of the light and a perfect place to speak with a learner of the Light.

Cyrus had arrived at the temple he had recently received word that he and a knight were to begin his training in the ways of the light side of the force he stopped out of his modified starviper after having cleared landing procedure and continuing on his way to the entrance of the temple.

"Knight Rafeesh, it's an honor sir... my name is Cyrus I was told to meet you to begin our training in the ways of the jedi."

He stood in front of the largest knight awaiting his response.

Rafeesh smiled and bowed before replying, "That is correct. I will teach the ways of the Force, to the best of my abilities. When you have grown beyond me then you will become a full-fledged Jedi."

He motioned for [member="Cyrus'Relk"] to follow as he began walking. If they were to have the near perfect student-teacher relationship, the bond that normally followed a padawan and master, they would need to know more about each other. That was Rafeesh's opinion, based on the old-school method from the Old Jedi Order. He wanted to know more about his new padawan, just as it was likely that Cyrus wanted to know more about him.

"So how long have you been in the order?"

Cyrus thought about his response for a second as they walked to there designated area for training, "For some time, Knight Rafeesh, i believe since the early days in the rise of the empire and the one sith, but thankfully i've managed to avoid most major conflicts. i'm not a fighter you see more of an archeologist of sorts... but i am always aware that the sith are a crafty enemy and may use my lack of combat prowess to they're advantage..."

he chuckled a bit, "i've always been sort of a loner if you will... And you Rafeesh how long has your ties with the order been?"

[member="Rafeesh"]

Rafeesh nodded, this was a good combination. The warrior and the scholar. He remembered the days as a Sith, many years ago, he had been part of a duo of specially trained Sith, one was the Jedi captor while the other was more adept at finding places of power in the Force. They had been powerful together, and he could recall many fond memories. But that was all the past. He was a Jedi now and sworn to fight any Sith that he might meet, even Shanna, should they meet again.

"This is my second time in the Order. I have been here for about a year. The first time, I had been trained from childhood in the ways of the Jedi, I fought in many of the battles during early Great Galactic War. I missed the Sacking of Coruscant..." That was a thought that still haunted him. Being in a transport originally bound for Coruscant, if they had not been diverted to Ren Vhar Rafeesh was certain that he would have died.

The Jedi Knight wanted no secrets between the Padawan and himself. He would tell [member="Cyrus'Relk"] of the history that Rafeesh could remember, but he wanted to first allow his padawan to speak.

"things have been insane in the last few years, more and more i seem to be finding less and less archiveable material, its almost as if someone was trying to stop me from getting to it?" Cyrus knew no one in particular was actually doing it but he got the odd sensation the force was beign mischevious with him,

"following the end of the battle of Yavin and the removal of the death star, i had to act quickly and i began seeking out some of the grey jedi i had contact with and called in favors to seek out any remnance of the jedi order and there artifacts but it would be a long time before i spoke to any other jedi that was until the several months after the conflict on Endor, following the death of Darth Sidious i made contact with several jedi who were in hiding and i have since been working every lead i have to recover more items and such...." he wandered as they both reached the door heading into the training room.

How long had he been around? Since the battle of Yavin, that was long time ago, almost a millennia if he remembered correctly. "Have you ever been through stasis? How did you live so long?"

He knew from his own experience that stasis was a very effective method of elongating life. Perhaps there was something that they shared in common. He wondered what sort of stasis would have been used. These were questions that he allowed to slip through and be asked, again learning more about each other was very important. He looked forward to training as well as talking more with [member="Cyrus'Relk"], the knowledge that time must have bestowed as well as the relics would have probably surpassed what he knew.

Cyrus pressed on his head, "i can never remember, i think i went into stasis some time after that they said my force trait was every unique, but that part of my life i cant remember... not easily anyways. the greys helping me is all i remember of the end of the empire, haha..."

Cyrus having been through a lot of information in the last months can barely remember what he had for breakfast the morning of...

"many artifacts, many souls crying to me and a lot of other minor things but i manage."

Rafeesh continued walking, this was an interesting discovery. What could Rafeesh teach [member="Cyrus'Relk"] that the Jedi might not already know? Fighting was only a small part of what it was to be a Jedi, Rafeesh wanted to teach more than just that. It would be a disservice to the future Jedi to solely teach the warfare side of the Jedi. He was somewhat surprised that this was who would be padawan, his first time teaching and it would be with one who shared some experiences.

"Then we have something in common. I hope that I will be able to teach you as I was taught. What do you remember of the Grey Jedi?"

Cyrus scratched his head, "Not much unfortunately, but I remember them giving me a force power evaluation and telling me my powers as they were the are extremely valuable, mostly due to what they say was a force connection that was very strong with objects and force ghosts, but no ghosts ever talked to me, heh..." he laughed a bit he knew this mustve sounded absolutely strange to Rafeesh but such was his unfortunate tale with Cyrus he was always forgetful but mindful of his surroundings and such.

The subject of ghosts was one that interested Rafeesh deeply, he had been most intrigued with the finding of Sith ghosts at one time. A friend of his back in the old days he had wanted to find again, but he had little experience in that field. He could recall once trying to find a way of binding ghosts to himself, during his time as a Sith. He had gone back to Korriban in the hopes of finding some ancient artifact that held the knowledge. He had failed and found nothing of true value, now it no longer mattered, yet he still had the urge to meet ghosts if the chance ever arose.

"Then I will attempt to help you hone your natural talents. Perhaps you will be able to use your gift to locate relics for the Jedi Order. Is there anything you wish to learn particularly?" Rafeesh was pulling together a mental image of what he imagined he would need to teach [member="Cyrus'Relk"]. The Knight would need to consult some of the Jedi texts and perhaps Mantic in order have a better idea of what he would be doing.
