Tillian Family Enterprises

Corporation Name: Tillian Family Enterprises

Headquarters: Yumfla, Susefvi, Suarbi System

Locations:
-Yumfla: Headquarters, warehouses, hangars, shipyard
-Imynusoph: Trade outpost and depot under control of Aeshi Tillian, with joint backing from Nubian Chartered Merchant Council and GUIDE
-Coruscant: Warehouse and distribution center for the bulk supply shipments

Operations:
-Cargo-hauling: TFE members will haul cargo as ongoing contracts or freelance basis. Benevolent smuggling operations included.
-Mercantile Trade: Seeking to supplement contract profits, pilots will often seek to buy and sell their goods from world to world.
-Ship Refits: With a history of smuggling and rough Outer Rim trade, TFE began customizing and refitting their own freighters as per the owner's desire, eventually branching out to custom jobs for any of Susefvi's citizenry.
-Whiskey Distillery: They make Tillian Cola, a carbonated whiskey made from the roots of trees native to Imyusoph.
-Shipbuilding: The Tillians have begun to construct and design their own ships to compete with the larger companies.

Rationale: All Tillian family members are granted a small share of TFE when they're born and any profits from their share and put into accounts for them when they're older. This gives them a moderate amount of credits for when they become adults, on top of whatever else they've done for jobs. They can use that for whatever they want- university, ships, home, wedding. When teenagers, they are also usually given opportunities to work for the company in whatever way they think would be best, with the option to go full time as adults. Aeshi's case is a little different, as she and her parents were captured by the One Sith during an Underground smuggling op, so Aeshi was raised in a Coruscant children's home.

Upon her return to Susefvi, she was surprised by the fact she had a bank account and a job waiting for her. She took it, using it in conjunction with her Nubian backing and GUIDE position to fund her trading outpost. As a share-holder, she can speak at board meetings and vote on what they want to do. However, the CEO is Ragnos Tillian, her grandfather.

Tier: 2

Description: Tillian Family Enterprises is an old company on Susefvi, with a well established presence in the capital city of Yumfla. It dates back even to Pre-Gulag era, but was crippled when the plague hit. However, the Tillian's survived, as they had since the colonization of Susefvi, especially given the Tillian tradition of having Force Sensitive children join the Jensaarai. That forged a partnership between the family, the sect, and the company, with the three working in close conjunction for the betterment of Susefvi.

The Tillian family first immigrating to the mining colony in hopes of making their fortune as miners, the company stuck along those lines, carrying cargo from the various mining facilities to production facilities. That gave them a solid start, building up a moderate amount of wealth, part of which they used to fund the Jensaarai. But the adventure gene ran strong in the Tillian line, as did the Force, and soon, members began branching out. Some took up independent trading. Some started smuggling careers. Some joined the military- earning renown as fighter pilots and sub-capital captains. But it was all disparate and disjointed- pooling funds as circumstance allowed.

It wasn't until Hynla Tillian rose to prominence in the family, convincing them to pool their resources and abilities to form Tillian Family Enterprises as a corporation, working to combine all the family's contributions. This allowed for a more effective business model and better way to support the Jensaarai, who now had a Tillian on the council and Hynla's twin brother as one of its Defenders. That model continued, with it reaching its heyday under the current patriarch, Ragnos Tillian.

He started as a smuggler before making it as a legitimate trader. He capitalized on that, amassing a fortune that he poured into the Enterprises, purchasing most of their current facilities in about 815 ABY. He's continued to lead the company ever since, well into his current sixties.

At present, TFE is still a minor company in the galactic scene. Aeshi's trade depot on the frontier is their first and only off-world location, chosen not for any economic reason, but to support a family member thought lost forever to the One Sith. Even still, their presence there is minor, primarily just credits put up for its construction rights to use it as a warehouse and refueling station for any Tillian enterprise. But for the most part, they work within the Susefvi system.

They own a warehouse in the Docks district of Yumfla, capable of holding several thousand cubic meters of trade goods and a basement for Yumfla based Jensaarai operations. They purchased an abandoned hotel and converted it into their corporate headquarters. It's used primarily to host potential clients and keep their records, which are rather sophisticated given their secret relationship to the equally secretive Jensaarai. Most of their operations, however, are based out of the starport, where they own a hangar and have negotiated discounted rates for docking bays. The hangar is primarily used for refitting operations, set up to handle anything up freighter size. Capabilities include upgrades to just about any part of a starship as long as nothing considered illegal in the Susefvi system is used. Galactic Alliance regulations are considered, but may be fudged if needed. They have the capability of refitting one ship at a time, upgrading all systems usually within a month.

General operations include contract cargo within the system, and freelance contracts within Alliance space. Most of these are new and inexperienced pilots, even some of the teenagers. There are currently ten of them. Tramp freight can be anywhere in the galaxy at pilot's discretion. There are currently seven such pilots, including Aeshi Tillian, with almost all of them also engaging in family approved smuggling.

That leaves Tillian Family Enterprises with an interesting combination of legal and illegal business. Ragnos and most of the family aren't particiularly interested in achieving galactic levels of influence but simply wish to provide for and protect their family and make their home a better place. That doesn't close the door to operations further afield, but it's not their focus. In the words of their motto, "Home is Family and Family comes First."

Specific members often have further interests, leaning towards a free galaxy for all citizenry, leading to strong sympathies towards resistance movements, including Underground involvement on behalf of several members.
