Description

In the beginning, our support of the First Order began with the Executrix. We wanted to provide the budding nation with the means to show force. However, by starting down this path, we needed to make sure that the whole of their forces were rounded out. So, the boys in R&D had a peek at the existing manifest. What they found was a lack of certain models: and that became the start of a new project.

We called it the TIE/FO-SK Bomber. SK standing for "Strike".

Now, with this model we decided to borrow a page from the history books. In particular, we looked at the TIE/IT Interdictor from the olden days. That, frankly, was a behemoth if we've ever seen one. So the first thing we did was reach out to Santhe Corporation in order to procure a few Variable Speed Laser Cannons. Now, these were a variation of the standard weapon: Lighter primarily. This meant two things. One, the cannons did not hit nearly as hard. Two, we had more room to play with explosive ordnance.

Typically for a starfighter of this size, the most you'll see is a pair of warhead launchers. Or maybe a bomb bay and a warhead launcher. However, since we picked a light cannon variant and omitted a hyperdrive, we were able to incorporate more. Grant total? Three. Two of Arakyd's own Flex-Tube Torpedo Launchers and a Bomb Bay. Each of them capable of holding eight warheads. Now, by the numbers, that's some serious firepower. What's more, the Flex-Tubes are designed specifically so that they can accommodate a variety of ordnance types. Need proton torpedos now and concussion missiles later? Consider it done.

In order to make the best of this firepower, we also composed the hull of reinforced durasteel. This allows Strikes to last on the field longer, but is one of the contributing factors to the ship's speed. Bombers are already slow. Between a beefed up ordnance selection and heavier plating, the Strikes are slower. In order to succeed on the battlefield, they'll need to rely on their squadrons a helluva lot more. That said, we're confident that the aces over at the First Order can handle the job.

So, enough of my rambling. The short of it is: the TIE/FO-SK Bomber is a plug for one of the existing holes in the First Order arsenal. It's tanky. It has one hell of a bite. Escort it properly and your enemies will hate you.

A lot.
