Forcebound Rebel

- Kyber Crystal Core: Embedded within chassis, cracked but faintly glowing. Provides warmth, occasional bursts of excess energy that cause sparks or flickers.
- Half-Glitched Memory: Archives corrupted; replays fragments of audio/visual data unpredictably.
- Binary Communication Only: Cannot speak Basic. Communicates through beeps, chirps, and posture. Acier interprets directly.
- Companion Protocols: Tailored to exploration support, terrain scanning, and small-object retrieval.
- Tidying Subroutine: Erratic behavioral quirk where Tic attempts to "fix" or rearrange objects, often unprompted.
- Loyalty Imprint: Bonded to Acier Moonbound, follows him closely (especially in dark/tense areas).
- Compact, portable, agile; capable of traversing rough terrain.
- Extremely loyal; will follow Acier into hostile environments.
- Kyber core emits faint warmth, useful for survival in cold climates.
- Memory fragments occasionally reveal useful historical echoes.
- Susceptible to EMP/ion weaponry.
- Centuries old
- Glitched memory can cause distraction or malfunction mid-task.
- No offensive or defensive weaponry.
- Kyber crystal instability can cause occasional power surges or system reboots.
"Tic" is a battered BD-series exploration droid discovered by Acier Moonbound in the wreckage of an abandoned Republic-era shipwreck on Hoth. Time and damage have stripped away its original shine, leaving a cracked white casing with faded red-orange markings. One photoreceptor flickers intermittently, and its gait was uneven from a damaged leg. Although, Acier has repaired Tic to the best of his ability.
Unlike most BD units, Tic carries a cracked kyber crystal embedded within its core, the origin of which remains unknown. The crystal glows faintly beneath its plating, producing warmth but also unpredictable surges of energy that manifest as sparks, stutters, or holoprojector glitches.
Though its memory is heavily corrupted, Tic exhibits fragments of its past - unreliable echoes of Jedi, battlefields, and places long forgotten. It does not speak Basic, only Binary, but its tone, posture, and chirps are expressive enough for Acier to understand.
Loyal yet anxious, Tic follows Acier almost like a shadow, especially in moments of danger. It is prone to quirks: tilting its head too far before twitching to reset, compulsively "fixing" objects or tidying spaces, and collecting bits of shiny scrap. Despite its flaws, Tic has proven itself a resilient and invaluable companion on Acier's journeys, embodying both the scars of war and the enduring spirit of survival.
