Description: When Thrukk Gulpdar entered the ring for the second time on Rattatak, his whole right hand was sheared off by a vibroaxe. His owners were close to giving up on their possession, but having fed and trained the Houk for years, they decided to stick with their investment a while longer.

They had a new mechanical hand constructed for him. Having a hi-tech presthetic made, especially one that appeared like an organic houk’s hand would have cost a small fortune. Instead they had several engineers in the Rattakan fighting pit workshop put something together far more basic, yet combat effective.

They worked from a hand typically used by mining droids. It was the correct size for Thrukk, and also had four fingers. They added a series of additional thin durasteel plates to the claw, which can be individually replaced. They act as a basic ablative armour and can be replaced easily. They upgraded the servos to give the claw enough strength to crush rocks, whilst at the same time giving Thrukk the fine motor skills required for more delicate tasks.

Finally they added a simple electromagnetic clamp to the palm of the claw. With enough power to lift 500kg of metal, it allows Thrukk to latch onto any metal object within 10-20cm of the claw. He often used this in the pits to latch onto an enemy’s armour or weapon, before crushing it.

Overall, this is a relatively simple piece of technology. It's tough and strong, but does not utilise any rare materials. Being a big chunk of durasteel it would take a good bit of blaster fire to destroy it, and anything more than a glancing blow from a lightsaber would slice through it.
