STANDARD FEATURES
- Robust construction of these sensors allow for them to be used by anyone, just about anywhere. The sensors construction allows for them to be dropped, shocked, thrown, and/or used and abused in any way. These sensors are built to take some damage as they are intended to be used in a wide variety of environments, from space, to hostile environments, underwater, and more. Basically anywhere you can think to bring this sensor, it will function.
- Doubles as a life form sensor as its primary function allows it to see most forms of life. The sensor is also able to monitor vitals, detect shifts in physiology, biology, and other fields when monitoring various life forms.
SPECIAL FEATURES
- This sensor allows for the detection and classification of energies and forces on the spectrum of energy colloquially known as "The Force". The two primary fields, known as "Light" side and "Dark" side to most Force sects, are identified on the sensors as Aetherial Energy and Umbral Energy. The primary difference between these two energies is that Aetherial Energy is a less energetic waveform of the Force, allowing for the users of Aetherial Energy to absorb and project massive amounts of energy without causing physical damage to the physiology of the user. Meanwhile Umbral Energy is a much more energetic waveform, with habitual users showing damage across all biological systems of the body.
- This also extends to "Force Adjacent" energies as well, an example being the field of disruption caused by Ysalimiri. This allows for the sensors to categorize and identify most signs of life through its specific projection in the Force. This means that even spirits, rifts, force nexuses, Yuuzan Vong, or Ysalimiri can be identified through these sensors. It even allows for NFUs to be able to "see" the birth of a tear in the veil that separates real space from the otherworldly plane known as "The Nether".
STRENGTHS
- New energy spectrum can be viewed: This sensor allows for the study, viewing, and monitoring of an entirely new and unprecedented field. This means that being sensitive to the force is no longer required to study its effects, and in effect could also be studied more effectively because now instead of getting raw data from an interpreter, you're getting the raw data. And since it's monitoring the fields of energy themselves, you can see their sources, how they interact with one another, and most importantly the if and why it's dangerous. This sensor can in effect take the sixth sense possessed by most force users, and allow them to quantify it to their peers regardless of sensitivity to the various fields in the Force.
WEAKNESSES
- The spectrum is actively being manipulated: The spectrum that people will be viewing and monitoring can rarely, if ever, be considered in its natural state. With the prevalence of Force Users in general, and their proclivity to either consciously or subconsciously affect the worlds around them, users of these sensors need to realize that the data they're getting can be, probably is, and more than likely will be manipulated by Force Users in general. This means that until a "natural state" of a particular area or field of study in this area is established, all data needs to be taken with a healthy grain of salt. And being an extremely new field of study means that these sensors will allow you to have a snapshot picture of what it looks like at that point in time, but the interpretation of the data is up to the user. So have fun with that.
DESCRIPTION
One of the first requirements for rigorous study into a particular field is the ability to observe said field. And one of the biggest blocks for studying the effects of "The Force" and similar energies is that it was only observable by a small secularized few that were indoctrinated to predispositions in regards to viewing this energy. Some call them cults, others religions, but one thing is certain, neither Jedi nor Sith (in their traditional senses) can be considered mostly unbiased in their views of this mystical energy. What was needed to happen for true understanding of this field, was the ability to observe this energy from the primary source, not secondary observations from mostly crazy kooks who are focused (more often than not) on genociding each other.
Enter the Thoth Class Sensors.
Developed by researchers during the Exodus to study the various force storms sweeping through the vastness of space, these sensors were originally designed to study the effects of the force material studies. A natural adaptation of them was used in medical treatments, more or less establishing baselines for a person's spiritual health so that if a major change occurs that is detrimental, an intervention can be conducted. These machines will finally unlock the full potential of research into this field, because you're no longer working with second hand data. Scientists and explorers can now definitively identify, study, and more safely conduct experiments with said anomalies. Sending in autonomous drones with these sensors can now provide much more data than before, and surveyors can mark off dangerous zones for life around force nexuses that corrupt and twist all life around them. And now you can do so objectively, from energy reading sensors that work like a Force Giger-counter, to optical sensors that study the various waves and flows of force energy. Bygone is the era where only users and sensitives of The Force were masters of this domain. Because now, this technology allows for those not attuned with the energy specifically to be able to research and study the field. Welcome to the future.
