This Planet, Like Your Corporation...Is Now Mine!

The planet of Anaxes now fell under the rule and protective custody of the Sith Lady, Darth Venefica. For her loyalty, hard work, and creative ways to eliminate the enemies of the Sith and the Dark Lord himself, he granted her the planet as a 'gift'. The planet was still recovering from the invasion it had been dealt by the Sith war machine and much needed relief was in order. So many projects, so many goals to achieve. Her first order of business was the take over of the sole corporation that had been rooted on the planet for a long time; The Zann Remanufacturing Facility.
There were several options open to her. She could simply walk in with her personal guardsmen, Nightshade Company, and simply eliminate the current owner and his staff. But she risked losing the loyalty of the current work force. Another option was to have the owner and his current staff quietly assassinated but that would only birth rumours of how she came about acquiring the company. Instead she opted to obtain this facility through more persuasive tactics. Afterall, the manipulation of others was her forte.
Darth Venefica had requested, not ordered, a tour of the complex through a middleman. As the ruler of Anaxes, it was her right to make such a request. The current owner, Marto Zann, had accepted the request with open arms. Little did he know that he had set in motion the loss of his company. The Sith Lady knew little of what the corporation did minus the fact they refurbished outdated and old equipment with only a hand few of new projects in the works. This was something she aimed to change.
Standing out in front of the facility with her personal droid Little Fella and Tion Dr'iol, the Munn who would be the future head of the board of directors, and a hand few of her personal guardsmen, she stared at the building with a cold and haunting smile. Soon this would all be hers.

Another Sith Lord was actually in the building, this one leaning against the wall and waiting on the events to enfold just as the new Lady of Anaxes. He wondered how the Vice Admiralty would react towards this particular piece of news, if Carach remembered correctly the Admiralty had been pitching to use Anaxes as their own headquarters.

Then again, this move from the Dark Lord could be seen as strategic. Place one of the faithful to stand vigil against the imperialistic movement, no?

You know, I could probably warp his mind for you. Turn him into a thrall instead.” the Voice of the Dark Lord would softly whisper in Vendefica’s mind, in the end he was here in a function of overseeing, making sure that the transition would roll as smoothly as possible.

The Dark Lord’s Voice had made it his job to be in the loop and avoid any needless… complications, their liege had never been a great fan of complications, perhaps a side-effect of being stabbed in the back by his former Apprentice.

Who knew?

The offer was a genuine one, it would be better for the reputation and stability of the company if the current CEO would still be at least a figurehead. People so detested change, especially during times of war.

The soft and soothing whisper from another Lord gently caressed her mind, earning him a grin of satisfaction. What he was suggesting appealed to her. A thrall could be used to serve many purposes and taking the strain off of Tion Dr'iol, freeing the Munn up to pursue other ventures for the corporation. Besides, who better than the soon-to-be former owner knew the ins and outs of the workings surrounding the corporation? Granted the corporation's profits were appalling to say the least but with proper motivation and guidance he would be an invaluable asset to have. In appearances only it would seem he still ran the company but behind the scenes he was nothing more than a puppet.
"You are free to do so...but do not destroy his mind," she whispered into his mind. "Spoiled meat has no appeal to me."
Marto Zann, flanked by another male human, walked up and greeted her. She could sense his nervousness and apprehension at entertaining a Sith Lady. And rightfully so. Most business owners knew that a bad choice of words could unravel everything they worked for. But for Mr. Zann, no manner of words would save his company.
"Geetings Lady Venefica," he began failing at trying to hide the fear in his voice. "I have taken the liberty to have my associate here, Mr. Jurken, put together a well detailed itinerary. We will cover everything that Zann Remanufactures does here."
"Impressive display of initiative, Mr. Zann. Before we begin...I would like to have my droid here taken to the complex's main frame so he can download every file you possess. It's not that I don't trust you but one can never be to assuming. Also, my associate [member="Darth Carach"] will be accompanying us on the tour."
Mr. Zann gave a forced smile then nodded to Mr. Jurken to take the droid to the corporation's computer room. With both droid and Mr. Jurken heading off, Mr. Zann made a gesture with his left hand that he was ready to proceed.
"Our first stop will be the facility's production line."

She walked in almost perfect step with Mr. Zann as he went over the production assembly line. Several sentient workers intertwined with droids where busy at work churning out various parts, mostly for ships. However, she found some lacking the motivation to carry their weight even as their boss was in the area. Under her management motivation would never be lacking. She assumed this was to poor wages and even poorer health benefits. Again, she would see that was also changed.
"As you can see," Mr. Zann said swinging his arms about, "We have a full staff of both droids and live workers. The droids work continually around the clock while the workers do so in 12 hour shifts."
"It appears that some of your workers seem less enthused than others. Problems?"
Mr. Zann cleared his throat, a tactic she understood as both stalling for an answer and a slight embarrassment on his part.
"Ah, no. Some workers feel they are being overworked and have taken it upon themselves to work at their own pace. It's really not a problem."
"Not a problem you claim," she responded adding a hint of scorn in her voice. "Then why is your profits and production down the past 10 months? Yes, I am aware of that so no need to make excuses or deny it, Mr. Zann."
Again he cleared his throat, only adding to her already growing annoyance with him.
"You are correct but we are trying to..."
"Enough....just take me to the Engineering Department."

The Engineering Department seemed to be just as disorganized as the production lines down below. Each work station housed one engineer who was busy working on one or more projects. This did not settle well with the Sith Lady. Multiple ongoing projects was fine, multiple ongoing projects being conducted by one person was lacking productivity in her eyes. If a project was to be completed, it needed either more than one engineer assigned to the project or the workload lessened for an engineer to complete first, before moving onto another task.
"I now understand why this company is falling behind it's competitors," she commented now allowing her anger to be sensed in her voice.
"What do you mean, Lady Venefica," Mr. Zann asked.
"For starters Mr. Zann....the engineers are overtaxed. To many open projects are ongoing and overseen by one engineer." She pointed at one workstation and added, "How could he possibly find all solutions for any problems that may arise in the schematics if he is to occupied with jumping from one project to the next."
Mr. Zann rubbed his chin looking at all the workstations. "This has always been our way to do things. Our competitors have their policies and we have ours," he replied showing annoyance in his voice. "This is my company and I run it my way. You are here only as a guest for a tour!"
The Sith Lady swung her head toward him. She wanted to kill this man for his insolence but refrained from doing so. She wanted his company and she would have it, soon. But there was a plan to go about doing this and killing him would only cause tension between the workers and her leadership. Of course, most that worked here, mainly these engineers and the board of directors, were going to be replaced anyway. For now, patience.
"Your tone is quite disturbing, Mr. Zann," she snapped as she gently touched his throat with the Force. "Your company only exists and will continue to exist because I've allowed it so far...despite all the failings that have plagued it. Now....do we continue the tour or is there something else you feel you need to express to me."
Mr. Zann rubbed his neck and shook his head.
"Very well. Now I would like to see the shipyards before heading over to the main office to see what my droid has discovered. Unless of course you wish to disagree?"
Again he shook his head and led her out of the Engineering Department toward the shipyards.

The more behind-the-scenes of this company she saw, the more irritable she was becoming. The production, or assembly, line was just awful. The Engineering Department was horrendous. And now the shipyards was just the icing on the cake. To call it disorganized was an understatement. To even call it a shipyard was an even gross understatement. Parts, half completed ships, tools, and equipment laid scattered about. To add to this miserable view, almost all the workers were standing about doing nothing but chatting away while ships grew in depreciation by the minute. To call them ships was, well, an understatement.
Tion Dr'iol, her Munn accountant, just stood there with his mouth hanging open. He began to formulate some sort of comment but the words kept failing him. Darth Venefica seemed to reciprocate his facial expression. The Sith Order and Zann Remanufacturing had signed a contract that stated the company would assist in building warships and refitting them for the Sith and in return, the Order would pay them handsomely for their work. It occurred to the Sith Lady that Mr. Zann was taking advantage of the Sith's generous agreement.
"Save your excuses, Mr. Zann," she snapped when she sensed him about to speak. "This is completely unacceptable! Your company...and the blame rests squarely on your shoulders!"
"I know you think this looks bad. But..."
"Looks bad? It is bad!"
"Please, allow me to explain?"
Her patience with this man had run out. He blatantly was taking the Sith Order for fools. He was taking their credits and showing nothing positive in return. His company, like the man who owned it, was a sham. Again she fought the urge to kill this man, but instead gestured with her right hand for him continue.
"We are experiencing set backs in delivery. Recently our transport ships containing parts and equipment have fallen under attack by pirates. I've petitioned the Sith Navy for assistance but they do nothing. Nothing!"
She was aware of the transport ships being hijacked by pirates. She had orchestrated this herself by making a deal with the local pirates in this system to target Zann's ships only. The pirates were able to keep what they took and in return they would not molest any other ships in the system. However, there was still plenty enough materials here for them to complete the orders agreed on by both Sith and Mr. Zann. He was fishing for excuses to cover up his failures.
"The Dark Lord does not take kindly to being swindled. The Navy has no records of any pirate activity in this region." Her cold staring eyes began to bore holes into the man. "You have failed thrice during this inspection. You have but one chance to redeem yourself and save your company."
"Save my company? I think you are confused, my Lady. My company is not in jeopardy," he replied.
"If that is what you wish to believe. Now take me to the company's main frame area. I'm eager to learn what my droid has discovered."

As they headed toward the main frame area that also doubled as the company's front office, Darth Venefica brushed the mind of Tion Dr'oil ordering him to take her personal guardsmen and round up the engineers and the other company's board members. When they were accounted for, they were to be hauled off to a waiting transport where their lives and fate were no concern of hers. Mentally she smiled to herself, her plan was now coming to fruition.
She watched with a smirk on her grim face as Mr. Zann looked nervously about as Tion and the guardsmen peeled off from the group. She could sense his nervousness, his fear, and his confusion. This was good. When the time came to drop the veil completely, she would use all those emotions against him. For now, she basked in them.
Upon arriving at the front office, her personal droid, Little Fella, was rotating his head back and forth and chirping loudly. Mr. Jurken was waving his arms about and yelling at the droid as Darth Venefica and Mr. Zann entered the main frame section of the office. Mr. Zann and Darth Venefica looked back and forth between droid and Jurken.
"Sir," Jurken said when he saw his boss, "I caught this droid installing false files into our system and..."
"Caught him," Mr. Zann asked.
"That is a bold statement Mr. Jurken," Darth Venefica chimed in. "You actually caught him installing false information?"
Jurken rubbed the back of his neck before adding, "Well....no. But the files he downloaded possess files we do not have in our system prior to his tampering with our computers."
"I'm confused. You claim you caught him installing files but now claim he downloaded files from your computer system....that didn't exist beforehand. I find this to be somewhat troubling....on your part, Mr. Jurken."
"Now hold on a minute," Mr. Zann interceded, "Mr. Jurken has been a loyal employee for almost ten years. He is not prone to flights of fancy!"
"And droids aren't prone to installing false files. Little Fella....would you please upload the files to my datapad so that both Mr. Zann and myself can see these files for ourselves."
Both Zann and Jurken exchanged glances. Jurken quickly produced a small hold-out blaster and pointed it at the Sith Lady. Darth Venefica let out an amusing chuckle at the display.
"I don't know what you are trying to do, Sith," Zann spitting out the word Sith, "But it ends now!"
"Finally we both agree on something."

Little Fella gave a curt whistle then rammed his metal body into the side of Jurken's left side, causing him to be distracted just enough when he looked down at him. With blinding speed Darth Venefica retrieved her lightsaber, ignited it, and brought the hot plasma blade down across the wrist of Jurken's weapon holding hand. Jurken had less than a second to howl in pain as the blade slashed across his chest, leaving behind a burned scorched mark and a falling dead body to the floor.
Mr. Zann attempted to flee the office but was gripped by the Force and slammed hard into wall; knocking the wind from his lungs. Darth Venefica powered down her weapon and casually returned it to her waist belt. She stared at the trembling Mr. Zann for some time, soaking up his fear and enjoying every moment of it.
"Tsk...tsk...tsk."
The Dagobah Sith easily slipped into his mind, poking and prodding at will. First she used her Force ability, Drain Knowledge, and ripped any and all useful information about the company that he had been withholding from her. The most disturbing information she learned was he planned to sell Sith secrets to the Republic in regards to weaknesses in their warships. She should have him executed for treason but for now, she needed him.
Then to weaken his will even further, she used the Force technique, Mind Shard, to rack him with pain both physically and mentally. She wanted to not only break his will and have it serve hers, but she wanted to punish him for his ignorance. The more his body convulsed, the more energy she poured into the Force, enhancing his pain further.
She released her hold on him and he fell to the floor, twitching in pain. As she looked down at her handiwork, her comlink chirped to life.
"My Lady," Tion began, "It is done."
"Very good," she replied into the comlink. "Return here at once. Mr. Zann and I need a witness to oversee the signing over of his corporation to me."
"With pleasure," he said with an amsuing chuckle. "I'm on my way."
Darth Venefica looked down at Mr. Zann and laughed.
"I could have had you assassinated....so look at the bright side...you're still alive."

The body of Mr. Zann was helped to the the centre of the complex, where every employee was gathered to hear the rumors of a failed assassination attempt on their boss. In appearance, his body seemed to be intact but it was his mind and will that had been broken. Darth Venefica spared no expense in destroying it, molding it, and turning it to serve her. Her plan had went off more successful than she could had ever foreseen. But all the credit was not hers, Mr. Zann had unwillingly played his part.
"I stand before you," he spoke, the words being planted into his mind by the Sith Lady, "A broken and wounded man. Early today an attempt on my life was made and I stand here a survivor because of the quick actions of my friend, Darth Venefica. However, I am no longer fit to run this company."
She looked into the crowd of people and saw the concerned looks on their faces. One didn't need the Force to sense their concerns or confusion. It was painted all over their pale faces. But where they were losing confidence she would replace with hope. She tightened her grip on Mr. Zann's mind.
"I look down at you all and see worry in your eyes. You fear for your jobs. Or what is to become of this company." He turned his head to the right, grimacing in pain. Pain the Sith Lady was infecting him with.
"Fear not my friends. Though I am unable to continue running this company due to my fleeting health, I have taken measures to ensure this company will survive."
Darth Venefica planted more pain into his body, causing him to nearly collapse. As he began to fall, she reached out and caught him; holding him steady. After a few moments of silence, he continued.
"I have decided for the best interest for the company and all of you, the hard working employees, that I will sign over the rights to my good friend, Darth Venefica. She has assured me that each and everyone of you will be taken care of and looked upon as a valued employee. The papers have been signed and so with a warm heart, I present to you Darth Venefica."

Darth Venefica took a step forward, looking down at the employees, her employees, and smiled. Most of those gathered here would be kept on in the company while some, like the engineers, would be replaced. She had great plans for the company, her company, in the coming future. Then to her surprise, the employees began to clap. She felt a flutter of warmth in heart then quickly crushed it.
"The company will be undergoing several changes immediately," she said, her voice silencing the masses. "We will be expanding the company into biogenetics along with the manufacturing of ships and weapons. A new board of directors will be brought in to oversee the company's output, production, and profits. And we will be adding a bonus to all of the employees of Taobh Dorcha, the new name of this company."
She gestured for Tion Dr'iol to come and stand beside her. The Munn announced his name to the workers and that he will now be the new director on the board.
"As Darth Venefica stated earlier, we have decided to give everyone here an incentive to strive to double their output. First, everyone that has been with the company for 5 years or more will be receiving a 20% pay increase while those that don't meet this criteria will be receive a 10% pay increase. Every employee will now have the option to purchase stock in the company and will be given the option to purchase health benefits for you and your family."
A thunderous roar erupted from the floor as employees began to cheer and throw praises and thank yous toward the Munn and the Sith Lady. Tion motioned for them to be silent.
"Furthermore, I will be implementing a Union for all workers so that they are treated fairly and a way for their voices to be heard. Any employee working here for 5 years or longer are eligible to apply as Union representatives. Interviews and background checks will be conducted on all applicants."
"And one final piece of good news," Darth Venefica added, "Everyone is now on a one week paid holiday courtesy of Mr. Zann. So enjoy your time off while the company begins it's new future."
