This is Getting Out of Hand, Now There are Three of Them! | Imperial Invasion of Alliance-controlled

Location: Dogabah Surface
Allies: GE
Enemies: GA & Allies
Role: Combat Medic, Troop Support

The battlefield was turning dangerously chaotic, Seto only barely managed to drag one of the Stormtroopers from an exploding tree. Back behind non-exploding cover Seto prepped another trooper for a bacta-tank. His wounds, while not fatal, were numerous and the explosion that had earlier rocked him took a toll on the mind and body. The mangled breastplate and burnt shoulder plates gave Seto the locations of the injuries, the bacta-patches would soothe the pain for the time being.

Around Seto, orders were being yelled as more heavy weapon squads shifted their aim elsewhere. More Stormtroopers reinforced their position and most importantly brought more heavy equipment to help defend against the Alliance's close air-support. The real Imperial Hammer, the AT-AT, began their heavy fire support. Comms began to fill the helmet of more Trooper reinforcements were quickly advancing, perhaps the tide of battle was turning heavily for their favor for once. Seto wouldn't mind a moment to sigh in relief, but his mind quickly turned away from the feelings of easiness and towards something more grave.

Reports echoed in as Seto picked up his binoculars to notice something falling from the sky, or to be more precise, falling from orbit. Seto's eyes widen but that was the least of shock, their own ships had begun to descend closer to the planet's surface and Seto's Comm's were filled with reports that disturbed him. Chaos was nothing new to this once Obsidian Knight, but it seemed today something truly felt broken in this galaxy and no amount of bacta could fix.

His fingers reflexively twitched towards his lightsaber hidden in his utility-belt, his breathing slowed and his fingers curled into a fist. The earth shook and launched Seto back into action, his HUD picked up another call for a Medic and Seto dashed over. The fight after-all was far from over, and Seto's duties even further from over.

Trextan had moved forward to initiate a fight, which ended surprisingly quick by an unknown entity. Ellibird did as she always did, picking at components of the individual that seemed unnecessary at the time. It was a roulette if there ever was one, knowing that roughly half the time, those unnecessary questions would land on formidable conclusions. She was, after all, a prophet of sorts.

From the sharpened gleaming tip of an ankarres arrow, Maud stared at the woman with the bow bent taught. She was quite pretty, he had to admit, though such things hardly concerned him. What concerned him more was who she was, what she was doing, and why he didn't recognize her. He may have not had the Sullustan experience that Trex had, but given her ability and appearance, she would have stood out all the same.

"For miles..." He uttered from the feathers of the arrow, keeping Cecile in his crosshairs. "And now he is none the wiser..." Maud didn't like the reckless taking of life. The Jedi, the Sith, they all did it when the time called for it. But why kill this man now?

He shook it off for the time being, whispers of skepticism in the swamp. Nevertheless, while the bow slacked, his aim remained true and fixed. "So..." He looked over to Elli. "Yeah..." He looked back to the woman. "Is silver your favorite color?"

The order from one [member="Coren Starchaser"] came through, and Dalton nodded, looking to the others in his rag-tag Red team.

”Understood.”

Dalton clicked off and brought his rifle around, and flicked the safety off to go from ‘stun’ to ‘live’ fire.

”Let’s show these Imperial bastards just who the real key players in the galaxy are!”

The battle for Dagobah had begun...

Location: Bridge of the SD Aggressor, Dagobah space
Allies: Imperial Forces
Enemies: everyone against the Empire

The Commodore strolled onto the bridge after having been summoned by Captain Noval. “Sir, we have received word that the fleet has engaged enemy forces over Dagobah. Your orders?” The captain said, standing at attention. Blaax smiled to himself as he nodded at the captain, signaling he could stand at ease and then made his way over to the main view port, looking out at the stars.

“Well by all means captain, take us to Dagobah. Maximum speed.” Blaax said, placing his hands behind his back but not looking away from the view port. With that said, the captain turned around and began to relay the Commodore’s orders to the bridge crew. He had weapons primed and ready to go, deflector shields activated and once all was set, he gave the order to jump to light speed.

The view of the stars outside warped into white lines before the whole view turned into a blue blur. There was a bit of a lurch that rocked the ship as it bolted to light speed. Blaax strolled through around the bridge, listening to the hustle and bustle around him, the captain gathering useful information from one of his lieutenants. When the Star Destroyer dropped out of light speed, there was another lurch that caused Blaax to steady himself on a nearby console. Wasting no time, he resumed his original position in front of the main view port, Captain Noval joining him.

“Scanners are picking up multiple enemy ships sir as well as several ground forces.” Captain Noval said, reading the panel in front of him.

“Lock weapons on the closest vessel and open fire. Coordinate with forces already engaged and get ready to obliterate any and all enemy ships.”

Through the flak and the fog they swung back around, missiles shot out from the craft, streaking into the sides of the juggernauts whilst weaving through the sky. They took hits, blasts buffeted the LAAT/D, but the ship held together even as its deflector shields flickered away thanks to a massive blast hitting home. The gunship jerked evasively, tilting to one side and banking hard.

For all the training, Kip hadn't been ready for it. The force threw him forwards, his gun first knocking the breath out of him as it slammed against his stomach, and then swung away. For a moment, Hollaran hung in the foggy air secured only by the security harness, struggling to catch his breath.. It took all he had not to lose control, but Kip held together, reaching to his guns only to be thrown back into the craft as it banked the opposite direction. Then another hit came.

For a moment it didn't feel real, one second Kaz was there, the next he was gone. Just gone. Heat washed over Kip, and force knocked him from his feet, his unprotected head banging against the metal. He wasn't entirely sure what happened after that. Screaming echoed in the confines of the crew quarters as something wet and sticky began to trickle down the back of his head. But all he could think of the was the flash, how the man simply melted away. Kaz hadn't been a friend, but he might've been one day, but not now.

As the LAAT/D shot away, dead infantry and burning armor in its wake, it made a beeline for a base it had no idea was compromised.

She paused a moment mirth filled her pale blue eyes as the young singer asked her questions. There was something beautiful in her innocence, though what it was exactly was very hard to explain. Her eyes passed to the two young men, strong and determined both seemed, but young. She couldn't fault them that. All things were young once and that was the way of things.

"My name is Cecile." She said, her voice like a song, "I did live here, and Yes, silver is my favorite color."

It was all true, though her time here was short she had considered it a home, one of many. She pushed her hair back over her shoulder with a gloved hand and gave the group a smile. It was an out of place thing under the circumstances and she let it fade slowly into a patient kindness. She was nothing if not practiced at such things.

"I had hoped this man would have lead me to his ship but instead he lead me to you." She told them, a matron speaking to younglings, "We must hurry, there will be more and they won't be as unprepared as the first one. Come."

She held a hand out to the girl and looked for a solid path. Trust, that was what brought won hearts and once won hearts could be molded. There were other ways, of course, but they were for other times. Today, she would play the friend.

"Captain," the CommsOp called, "We're receiving multiple reports of defections throughout our fleet."

"What?" Fabian felt cold sweat breaking out on his back. "Who?"

"Conflicting reports, Captain."

The superstructure shuddered around them and Fabian grasped the bulkhead for support. He did not have time to worry about defectors right now. His sole focus had to be on completing the mission and protecting the lives of his crew.

Outside the viewport there was only a miasma of explosions and slagged metal as the frigate's turbolasers continued to chew through the decks of the battlecruiser, like a worm steadily eating its way out of a lizard's belly.

One of the sensor operators frowned at his readout, then his eyes flared wide open and he turned around to Fabian. "Captain, hostile fighter."

Fabian's brows drew together severely, "Inside the cruiser? Where?"

Warning systems shrilled alarm, causing all eyes to swing back to their readouts. The frigate lurched, deck shaking so violently that it sent Fabian sprawling to his hands and knees. Overhead, panels from the ceiling exploded as feedback caused the wiring to blow in showers of sparks. The burning cascades doused crew members, causing them to flail about in temporary panic while trying to scrape the burning debris off their uniforms and skin.

"Status!" Fabian called as he tried to get to his feet.

"Fighter hit us with torpedoes, Captain. Our shields are critical!"

"Target that fighter the nearest emplacement and open fire," Fabian ordered.

The interior of the cruiser did not offer any room to maneuver. Coupled with the falling debris this meant that the fighter did not have much in the way of evasive action options. A tractor beam activated, attempting to catch and slow the fighter down before it could escape. At nearly the same time, a turbolaser cannon swiveled toward the fighter and disgorged a pair of green bolts capable of ripping an asteroid in half. At nigh point blank range the question was not whether the turbolaser would hit the fighter, but whether the fighter would survive.

Meanwhile, the other cannons continued to pour salvo after salvo into the carcass of the battlecruiser.

Trextan took a half step to put himself in the path between the newcomer and Ellifain. It was no overbearing need to protect the female of the group. Elli just didn't seem quite as grounded in the here and now as most and Trextan wasn't entirely certain this woman wasn't a threat yet.

Still, her favourite colour was apparently silver. Which was vital information for some reason.

As brutal as that strike had been the woman didn't give them any particular reason not to trust her. Trextan sensed no deceit behind her words.

His gaze didn't stray far but he did look towards the swamp. "There are more of them out there," he confirmed. The breeze changed bringing the sounds of battle. Red and green lights lit the clouds. It was almost impossible to gauge how far it was coming from.

Trextan's saber was deactivated, but it remained in his hand.

"Cecile," she whispered to the white bird with matted feathers on the branch next to her. It's beady, dark eyes blinked like an insect. "What do you think?" Its head tilted to the side, bright purple beak giving off one caw-caw before flapping its wings in semi-irritation.

Elli tilted her head back as if listening to a very serious and long conversation.

"The beast with the four dirty paws?" The Nagai-firrerreo whispered back, tucking green-streaked hair behind pointed ears. The bird blinked at her again and shifted on the branch, hopping another up. Golden-lime gaze traveled back to those eyes of pale-blue and that hand.

Dirty paws?

Thin shoulders shrugged. Shifting her weight, she carefully picked her way back down the tree, landing in a soft-plop just behind Trextan. "Too many." The birds in the tree she just left suddenly took flight. "We need to fly away too."

They needed to get to a ship. Back to the landing platform.

“Reports coming in from the fleet sir. The Sentinel has taken heavy damage along with several oth...” Captain Noval was cut off as the star destroyer was rocked with a volley of fire from two enemy corvettes. “Return fire and get our fighters out there!” Blaax barked at his bridge crew as the Aggressor continued to bear the full front of the attack. As Ties scrambled from the Aggressors hangers, the Star Destroyer tore into the corvettes, firing blast after blast all while making good work of wearing down their shields. Blaax stood watching his fighters flurrying around the enemy ships. Following one particularly successful run from a squadron of bombers, Captain Noval turned to Blaax and gleefully unformed the Commodore that the corvettes shields were down.

“Target their bridge and fire.” Blaax returned the Captain’s gleeful tone as he gave the order. Shortly after, the space just in front of the Aggressor lit up as one of the two corvettes erupted in a ball of fire with debris flying in several directions. “Tell the fighters to regroup and target the second corvette. Let’s wrap this up and bring the Aggressor into orbit.” Blaax said as he watched the flames die out. “Sir, the corvette has locked a tractor beam onto some of the larger pieces of debris and has engaged their thrusters. They’re on a collision course!”
Both the captain and the Commodore spun around and looked at the lieutenant with expressions of pure shock. “They wouldn’t dare...” said Captain Noval. “They would. Hard to port!” Blaax growled the order as he braced himself for impact. The Aggressor lurched forward and began to rotate just enough to avoid the most serious blows but debris carried by the corvette slammed into the midsection of the Star destroyer causing bulkheads in that area to rupture and break. The rest of the debris slammed in a little higher up and the corvette itself rammed head on into the side of the Aggressor. Blaax and the rest of the bridge crew were sent crashing to the floor as consoles and computers all over the bridge exploded in a hail of sparks, glass from one of the viewports shattered and flung accoross the bridge. Screams and cries for help could be heard as some of the bridge crew were sucked into space before emergency force fields activated.

When the dust settled, all that could be heard was the hum of the engines and the alarm klaxons that rang all over the bridge. Blaax stood up, coughing a little as he wiped the dirt and debris off his uniform. “Damage report...” he stated, hoping for anyone to answer. A young ensign stumbled over to his station and started figuring out what state the Aggressor was in. “Reports of fires all over the ship. Engineering is badly damaged. Sickbay is flooded with injuries, triage centers are being setup in the mess hall. So far 80 crewmembers are reported deceased sir. Weapons and hyperdrive are both offline. However we still have thrusters sir.”

Captain Noval stumbled to his feet and sighed. “That wasn’t good.” The captain groaned and then promptly fell back to the floor. Blaax quickly leaned down to help him back up. It was in that moment that both the men realized the large shard of glass that lodged itself in the captain’s side. “We need a medical team!” Blaax shouted then turned back to Captain Noval. He propped the captain up, holding his old friend in his arms. The two of them had served together ever since Blaax got his promotion to Commodore but before that, they were old buddies from their academy days. Blaax shouted again for a medic but he knew it was too late. Captain Noval struggled to breath, turning to Blaax to say, “Give them hell sir. You’ll take care of Adreanna for me?” Blaax was not typically an emotional person but he felt himself gettin misty eyed.

“I’ll take care of her and I’ll help look after the kids. And don’t you worry bud, I’ll reign down every ounce of hell I can on the cowards that did this.” The two stayed there on the floor for another minute and then it happened. The captain’s eyes drifted shut and there was a soft exhale as his body went limp. A lump formed in the Commodore’s throat as he stood back up. He looked at the ensign that had been helpful not too long and said “what’s your name kid?” The ensign stiffened up and said, “Ensign Cullen Darkan Sir!” Blaax nodded and responded, “congratulations Captain Darkan. Now, we need to get this ship back to operating efficiency and we need it done now. Make it happen.”

“Yes sir....” the new captain said, stunned beyond belief.

Dropping the arrow back into his quiver, he strung the bow so the cord rested against his chest while bow bend across his back. He felt at the axe dangling from the steel, he counted the knives that rested across his form, and pulled up the cowl.

"We're deciding whether we trust you..." He looked towards Ellibird and Trex. "I'm not sure of them but for me..." He looked back to the woman. "...you seem a convenient ally in a time of need."

He strode past her, opened to the force as he could be for the time. "Take that for what it is." He whispered as he lifted his hand, snapping his finger. A lesser bogwing dropped to the ground next to him and walked alongside him, hopping awkwardly.

Do me a favor. Can you watch over us. Call your brothers. This is your planet as well. Nothing good comes of it being claimed. The bogwing let out a mighty roar, as mighty as could be expected by the small figure.

"You all coming?" He peered over his shoulder as he trudged out along the high ground.

It was a wise thing for them to be wary, much wiser than trudging through a swamp alone, but then they were strong in their way. They had eachother but even their little party wasn't enough against too many. She smiled and nodded to the comments, although the girl was becoming a concern, her comment was too out of place to not be intentional, whether she knew it or not.

"It's wise to be wary of strangers," she said as she extinguished her blade and moved alongside them, "but there are no coincidences with the force. Perhaps, we have met for good reason and we have yet to see what it is."

She moved forward and sensed the disciples closing in on their position. It would be a delicate thing gaining their trust and she may have to play a longer game than she had at first intended but in time they would be her apprentices. In time they would come to see her as the goddess she was, but as with all lesser beings in her galaxy, she would give them time to draw the right conclusion themselves. All, creatures needed guidance to a conclusion. If she tried to force it too soon they would rebel. They got that from her, and it was how she wanted it to be.

Whilst he could have tried to decipher everything Elli said it didn't seem worth dedicated his mind to it. He had never been one for riddles anyway. Armaud would have to translate. He has stepped ahead of the group and set off with a determined gait. Of all of them he looked most at home in these swamps. Or just the past in general.

Cecile's explanation struck a chord with Trextan. On Kaeshana he hadn't found the Scarred through any devious schemes. The Force had guided him to them. He had arrived just in time to see them safely back to the Alliance lines.

Armaud picked a good path. The ground was springy, but firm enough that it wouldn't hamper his footwork. He fell into line behind the newcomer. He seemed to be the one most open to trusting her and yet he was the one behind her with lightsaber in hand.

snap-hiss

“They're coming. More than one.” He turned back and forth, looking for them. With a grunt of frustration he brought up one hand. There was a dull thump as he pushed out, drawing down from the clearer air above. The mists receded from where they stood but still didn't reveal any more sith. But at least now they had some clear air to show anyone approaching. A flutter in the darkness. Trextan turned and stood his ground.

“Hold here,” he grunted. “Show yourselves damnit,” he whispered to himself.

[member="Trextan Voidstalker"] [member="Cecile Miraxus"] [member="Armaud Eden"]

Nudging past Trextan, she fell in line next to Cecile. Golden-lime gaze kept sneaking glances at the taller, older woman. She was beautiful. Elli had no weapons beyond foresight. She trusted the birds would warn her and perhaps she'd be quick enough to climb up a tree. She was good at hiding and running away. Ever since she was little.

"Damnit," she whispered, repeating Trextan and nearly giggling. No, no, this wasn't time to be funny, Elli. She was scared, in her own, aloof way. On instinct, hand reached out to hold the hand closest to her and it happened to be Cecile's.

It wasn't the same as S'vora's hand and suddenly, she missed him very much.

He stopped in his step at the suggestion of Trextan. Turning his gaze back, he realized that the more experienced knight had moved into the lower components of the swamp. That was a mistake - once waist deep in the mist, surrounded by it, it would be difficult to find their way out. But beyond that weakness, it was more important now to stay together.

An arrow rested now on the bow, bouncing against the twine, as he held it parallel to the ground. Stepping down the loose peat hill, he kept his perimeter at the edge of the fog. He spotted Ellibird, going to grip the hand of the stranger, and he smiled with a slight shake of his head. Typical Elli.

"I don't like being stalked..." He admitted, knowing the tactics of herd hunters all too well. A dark night in the woods or prairie, one might find themselves surrounded by the snarls and shadows of pack dogs. And that was enough to rouse anxiety, even in the light of a swampy day.

Pulling the arrow back, he sent it sailing through fog and splashing into the water. It cut across the blanket of mist, revealing a figure just as it ran across the temporary canal. Nocking another bow, he aimed and quietly waited - to the sound of the Jubba Bird's song above.
