This Doctor Lacks Patients

Subject 73 Red

We're more ghosts than people.
[member="Jakob Benson"]

Red looked up, and noticed the Doctor enter the room. Finally! Now they could finally get started. Red reactivated his helmet's comm channels and stood up straighter.

"I'm Red." He said. "And this here is obviously a future patient of yours. Truly, a psychotic. He's responsible for the deaths and dismemberment of 50 men, woman, and children. He has severely wounded even more. He can't speak, he's cut out his own tongue, so all he can say is gibberish and garbage. He can write just fine, so that might be a method of communication. I found him on Nimban. I found him with a cargo ship and a pilot droid and some security droids that I have reprogrammed. You can keep both, I have no use for them." Red told them.

Benson listened intently while [member="Subject 73 Red"] gave out a laundry list of a description for his new patient. But he wasn't looking at Red. Instead he was keeping his focus on the potential patient. His expression however remained neutral.

"Do you have proof of these crimes? " Again he didn't look to Red at all but to the potential patient, watching to see how he reacted to things being said about him.

Red nodded. He pulled out a datapad and placed it on the table. "This holds all the relevant information. As shown on the datapad, he is wanted by multiple security forces and law enforcements for said crimes." He reported. He took off his helmet, as it was not necessary anymore, and it was getting in the way.

The "patient" Red brought in seemed to be oblivious to what was happening, and was paying attention to other things.

Benson tore his eyes off the potential patient to look at the datapad that [member="Subject 73 Red"] placed on his desk. He went through the information as well as varification to be sure that it wasn't just made up. Satisfied, he nodded. "How good of you to take this man away from where he can cause harm. Let us bring him to his new room, shall we? Once he's secured, you will receive your award."

He got to his feet, handed back the datapad, and then gestured for Red to get hold of the patient before he gestured to the door. "On your left to door 362-C."

Red nodded. "Of course." Red put back on his helmet and forced the "patient" to stand up. He lead him to the door. Red actually wasn't doing it for payment, he liked helping people. It was why he was made, to be of use to others. Of course, he was made to be a supersoldier to help people win battles and wars, but Red and a lot of the other experiments found the transition easy over to vigilantes and heroes.

[member="Subject 73 Red"] was a very compliant man; something that Benson was very pleased with. It helped to make such transactions run smoothly.

Once they arrived to the correct door, Benson unlocked it with his palm on the touchpad. The door slid open and he stepped inside. A cell lay within the dark room. It contained minor furnishings such as a bed, small table and chair, as well as a refresher. There were no bars or windows, instead it appeared open. "Step inside." He gestured to the patient to go in and not Red himself. And as soon as he crossed the threshold, the energyshield would be activated, locking the patient securely inside.

Benson turned to Red and took out some credit chips from the breast pocket of his coat. "Three hundred thousand credits for your success. The Galaxy is now a little bit safer due to your efforts."

Red shook his head when [member="Jakob Benson"] offered him money. "Keep it, consider it a... housewarming gift. It's my gift, to you. This one is free. Besides, I'm not doing this for money, I'm doing it to help others. Also, this is only to show that you can rely on me to bring in patients." He told the doctor.

"Anyways, I do have a couple of questions for you. Would you mind answering some of them?" Red asked.

"It's good to know that there are reliable people out there in the Galaxy that understand the need for places like these. Take some to pay for your fuel and ither expenses at least. No good deed deserves to go unawarded." Benson kept his hand with the credits out for [member="Subject 73 Red"] to take at least something from the pile.

Upon hearing that he had questions, Benson gave Red a small bod of his head. "I don't mind at all. Ask away."

Red shook his head, again. "Like I said, this one is free. Any others I bring in may not be, depends on how I'm feeling at the time. Besides, I have no need for it. Like I said, you can keep the ship and the droids I came in with, as I liberated them from the patient I brought in. Anyway, I have someone coming to pick me up, so I have no use for them anymore. Keep the ship, droids, and the credits." He said.

Then, the doctor agreed to answering some questions. "Alright. First; who is paying for this facility? Is it privately-owned and paid for by private corporations, or is it paid for by taxpayer money?" Red asked. It was an unorthodox question, but Red was curious.

Benson knew when and when not to argue. [member="Subject 73 Red"] was a good person to have on his side. "If you insist." He pocketed the credits, meaning to save them for another reward later on. "The ship and droids will be sold. We have no use for them here either."

To the questions Red had, Benson was happy to answer them. "This is a private facility. We are under no jurisdiction but our own. A secondary facility may soon be built through the suggestion of one of our investors."

Now it was his turn to ask a question, though his eyes were fully on the new patient as the man shocked himself while testing out the energy shield. "I have an outpatient of mine that should really be brought here. Although convincing her to come on her own has been a bit troublesome. Interested?"

Benson gestured for [member="Subject 73 Red"] to follow him to his living quarters. "Her name is [member="Kay Larr"] . Stubborn woman and a threat to herself as well as others." He placed his hand on the touchpad and unlocked the door. After stepping in he headed over to his filing cabinet and rummaged through it before plucking out the right dossier and handing it to him. "Here's her file. You'll find her on Altiria. She's one of those Force believers, though I don't think that she practices it like the others do."

He gave Red a moment to look it over. "What do you think?"

Red followed the doctor into his quarters. There, the doctor told him about this person. He then handed Red a dossier. Red opened it and looked inside, scanning the information. "Do you want her because she's a Force believer? Or another reason?" Red asked. It seemed as if the doctor didn't believe in the Force, and thought that anyone who did think it was needed to be... corrected. Well, this might be interesting, Red was a Force user himself.

"Anyway, that's your opinion. I'll do it." Red said.

"Another reason. She escaped Purgatory prison and although the wardens of the prison itself haven't tried to get her back, her mental state due to PTSD and other reasons had not done well to keep her nose clean. Patient/doctor confidentiality prevents me from saying more, but I can assure you that she'd be better off here."

Benson took note of the way that [member="Subject 73 Red"] had asked his questions, but didn't divulge into it any further, most especially as Red agreed to take on the case.

"Good. I await your success. Perhaps I'll have another for you when you return."

[member="Jakob Benson"]

Red nodded. He still didn't have enough information. "Anything else I should know? Last known locations? Frequent locations? Favorite places? Equipment? What type of transport she has? Any sort of evidence to where she might be?" Red asked. That information would be very important in the search.

Jakob Benson

Benson placed his hands in the pockets of his coat in a casual stance. "She lives on Altiria and is a former political figurehead. Although much of her belongings and ships were lost or taken, I'm sure that she's not without some resources. Look for the Sphaera Tea Shoppe. She owns it. Might be a good place to stake out."

[member="Subject 73 Red"]

Benson shook his head at the question that [member="Subject 73 Red"] posed. "As I said earlier, she's not without some resources and by that I mean that she probably wouldn't be alone. Once word gets out, you could find yourself being tailed. So prepare for that." He wasn't sure of how these things went on any given day. It wasn't his field of expertise.

Subject 73 Red

[member="Jakob Benson"]

Red nodded at this information. "That could complicate things... But no matter, I'll make sure she reaches you alive and breathing. She might not be alone, and neither am I. I have my own allies. I can handle it. Besides, I don't need to bring any of her allies to anyone alive, so no witnesses, no survivors, except for this patient." Red told the doctor.

"Now, onto my payment for this." Red continued. "As you can tell, I am no ordinary bounty hunter. I rarely accept money for my payment. I already have an idea of what I want my reward to be. I want three rocket launchers. Simple." Red said.

Jakob Benson

And now [member="Subject 73 Red"] wished to discuss payment. Earlier he said there wouldn't be need for any, but it didn't matter. Red did some great work, so Benson was willing to pay just about anything for his good efforts to continue.

"Three rocket launchers? I'm sure that can be arranged. There are none here at the moment, but I should be able to have a few brought here. Anything specific with them? Or just generic?" Benson had some allies that had plenty of various types of arms, so this payment shouldn't be difficult to acquire.
