This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race! (Steph, Lan, All Others Ask Please)

Popo

I'm Sexy and I Know It
Character
Popo the Hutt sat on his repulsor sled and waited. He could have shifted himself today, but the recent events in the galaxy had left him somewhat drained. As a result, he felt like being a bit lazy and had the repulsor sled set out for him. He sat on his sled as he waited on the upper decks of the Wheel's spire where the Tenloss Corporation, his company, tested various ship weapons on occasion.

Today's test was for a new point defense weapon system designed to target incoming missiles and torpedoes. The Shell Hutt didn't really care how it worked, but he did care about the market sales and weapon costs. From what he had seen of the data files, it was fairly simple and easy to operate, though it was a bit more complex and difficult to produce than what he'd like. The weapon test today was to see how the weapon performed and whether the design was satisfactory to being production.

For this purpose, Popo had hired two, independent, specialists to aid in his appraisal. He hoped their unbiased view of the defense system would help him in his decision to produce the weapon. They were a bit late, but Popo shoved the annoyance aside for now. He knew the two were eccentric, at best, and that punctuality could possibly be an issue...

Lan strutted through the halls of this research facility with a smirk on his face. The little otter moved with a swagger that would fit most humans, the reason for this was unknown, but he seemed to be quite pleased with himself. Slowly the Selonian moved through the hall, his two meter form towering over most of the humans within the lab.

After a few minutes Lan found his way through the main door's, finding the Hutt named Popo waiting for him. He smiled slightly at the massive slug, observing the room.

“Good Day to you sir.” Lan said with a smile as he wandered over to the Hutt, stopping directly before him.

The Havoc Squad soldier was not wearing armor today, instead he wore a light pair of tunic pants with a heavy leather jacket, a pair of black sunglasses lay across his face, obscuring his black beady eyes.

Trundling behind her commander was the tragic mess otherwise known as Steph Zenima.

Where Lan was tall his subordinate was tiny, they almost looked like a comedy act. Little 'n' Large, the newest Coruscant Circus act, watch them as they perform high octane, high air stunts above the gaping maw of a sarlaac. Eh, maybe not. I can't imagine trapeze would be a good mesh for a woman with hams for hands. Although Lan should keep that career in mind, what with that tail of his.

Upon entering the room with the Hutt Steph simply stared. She had often wondered what would happen if she hit one of those slugs full force with her sledgehammer. Would they explode? Get squished? Be rather upset? Probably.

Thankfully she hadn't brought the hammer. It was deemed as anti-social behaviour, much to her dismay.

“Aye aye,” she said, her own garbled form of a greeting. Her grubby hands were shoved into grubbier pockets. You may ask, what of professionalism?! You have sent me a stinking urchin woman! But calm yourself. Lan is here to save the day.

Popo looked at the two individuals as they spoke. The two were complete opposites from each other. The tall non-human looking professional and presentable while the short, tiny human looked like a street urchin. Popo understood that the non-human was well trained and educated, he'd looked at the dossier his... contacts had dredged up from within the Republic. The woman was unkempt and dirty, but her dossier spoke highly as well, though his personal contacts had mentioned specific items he could use for leverage. He would use such information, but later. For now, he needed their help.

"Good evening," the Hutt said simply in greeting, his eyes lingering over the small human a moment. He doubted she'd fetch much, even for rent, but he could see potential. Clean her up and some dental work, and she'd probably fetch a decent price on the market. Though the Hutt figured her value would lie elsewhere within his schemes. "I assume you both know why you're here?"

The messages he'd sent to hire them spoke of a new weapon being tested and that he'd wanted their input. However, the weapon had never been explained other than as an anti-missile point defense system. Obviously, the credit transfer enclosed within the comm message and the mystery of the weapon had drawn them in. At least, as far as Popo could tell and cared.

A bony hand crept out of its pocket to scratch an itch. Oh, it felt good to scratch, one life's most basic pleasure. You get an itch, and you scratch it. Unfortunately on the head of Miss Zenima it probably meant lice more than anything. Better keep Lan away from her, I mean, unless you want to comb through his giant fluffy mass to get the beasties out.

Not being the smartest pea in the pod, Steph actually had little to no clue why they were even there. All she knew was that they were getting paid. Credits good. Fire bad.

So the little woman just stood there, looking as if she'd been hauled out of Basic class for beating up the other pupils. Defiance with a hint of guilt. Eau de la Steph. Now, I really need a certain Lan Reagin to do the talking here. She can't be the one communicate, the very fact that she's even standing there reeks of unprofessional.

Steph Zenima grunted.
