They speak in blood, listen! [Rave]

How long had it been? Days, weeks, months? The passage of time had begun to blur for Kaine, he drifted from place to place in the Fringe, social gatherings of the highest prestige among their leadership, arena battles, and a multitude of other gatherings. He had been in a haze for many days as he drifted from world to world, place to place in an endless search for nothing. When the haze lifted he had found himself on Annaj, capital of the Fringe Confederation, and had left without a word or without causing an incident. He knew where he had to travel now, for his mind was clear of the haze after his initiation into the One Sith, and his purpose once again realized. He had to travel to a world long forgotten and lost among the stars, a world where he had only traveled to on a few occasions, one that was safe from those who would seek to destroy the Dark Side.

Aza'zoth.

His starfighter emerged from hyperspace close to the system, and he manually piloted the rest of the way through the natural hazards that had kept this world safe from being discovered for so many centuries. He and a handful of others knew the way past these obstructions, and Kaine would never willfully depart such critical information on to others, unlike some people he knew. Bringing the ship in low he entered the atmosphere and began to pilot towards the fortress far in the distance of the barren landscape. He knew she would be here, for she was the caretaker of the Dark Forge and she would heed his call. He landed a good distance away from it and continued on foot until he reached the Dark Forge, where he called out into the darkness.

"CARETAKER! I SEEK YOU OUT! COME TO ME!"

Broken stone, a mountain of it, marked the place where Val'Ryss Zankarr had torn down the temple Kaine would remember. Up from the subterranean Forge climbed a girl in a breast band and half an inch of soot, a jumpsuit unzipped to the waist and tied about her hips. She carried a hammer on her shoulder.

"Lord Zambrano, welcome back to Aza'zoth. What do you intend to make? Or do you intend to kill me for the Forge?"

"Nay, Caretaker. I am not here to take your life, but I do require your skills." He said with a courteous bow as he approached Rave, pulling back his hood to truly reveal his features and flashed an overly friendly smile at the woman. "I have come to create a talisman that will suppress the Force of the wearer, but I have realized I cannot create such a thing on my own. Thus why I have traveled so far to this Dark World, to seek your aid."

Rave blinked. "I would have thought...but it doesn't matter." She turned and gestured for him to follow her down into the Forge, speaking as she did so.

"There are three ways to dissipate or nullify your Force presence with an object; there might be more. All three are probably best made as amulets. One involves a nodule of Taozin flesh, but there's no art in that and it's unreliable; a skilled Force tracker can still find you. Another is to create an Amulet of Kalara, an incarnation of glee at going undetected in the Force. The third, and the one that appeals to me most strongly, is a Force Disperser -- Palpatine kept one in his desk, in case his Qey'tek masking slipped; it also let him conceal the presence of nearby Sith artifacts. Valik, I'm told, has made a few, and it's something I've always wanted to try. My best guess is, a Force Disperser amulet would be able to mask you and whatever Sith artifacts you were carrying."

As they descended Kaine stripped of his cloak and linen shirt, letting his bare chest be exposed to the searing heat of the forge below. His chest was a mangled mess of scarred tissue and burn marks, and it appeared that almost all of his left arm had series of growths and spine running across it. His right hand was completely black, and spiraled like a flame around his forearm to forever remind him of the destruction of his Sith Gauntlet at the hands of the Blessed Blade. "A Force Disperser? An interesting prospect Caretaker, and one that I will heed your words upon."

"I can make it, and better than it's been made in a thousand years..."

She placed her hammer on a rack and turned, crossing her arms under her breasts. "But there's the small matter of the price. I don't want or need money. What I want is something only you can give me.

"The Akure Leviathan. I made it, with Velok's help -- the greatest Sithspawn in millennia. I have imperfect, flawed samples, one of them chained beneath this very Forge -- but the real one, the true one, I made it, and I'm certain you wouldn't have left your throne without tucking it away somewhere first."

Kaine crossed his arms as well, "And what will you do with this Leviathan once I have given it to you? You said you had samples, do you plan to breed the creature? If so then I too want in, as the creature had fascinated me to no end. Together we can improve upon it, and create a truly magnificent creature. If I give it to you, you will make my talisman, and I will also help you in creating more, if that is your goal, as my word as one of the Lord of the Shadows."

"I'll strike that deal," she said, and the Forge flared to life. Crystalline armatures and rune-etched wheels moved in synchronicity. She moved to a cabinet and pulled out several trays of molds and metal fittings. Other trays held crystals, vials of blood and oil, and ingots of strange metals.

"A Force Disperser is normally left to a location," she explained, selecting a mold. She carried it and several ingots to the Forge, and placed the ingots in a smelter-pot. The heat baked sweat right off her skin. Within minutes, the metal had achieved liquidity. "This will be in amulet form, and weaker," she added absently. "It won't mask artifacts of power unless you're personally carrying them."

She made the pour, metal streaming through the mold.

Kaine sprung into action alongside Rave, "That will be of no concern, so long as it conceals me it will do perfectly." The heat was hellish as it cascaded in waves against Kaine's bare form, but he paid it no mind. He worked alongside Rave to bring the strange ingots of metal to the smelting pot, and watched hungrily as they began to melt into a molten form and then poured into the mold that would serve as the base for the amulet. The Dark Side swirled around them, seeping into their work, permeating the molten metal as it fitted to the mold's shape. That was the most crucial aspect of Sith Alchemy, molding and forging your creation with the Dark Side to truly create an artifact worthy of a Sith. As the mold began to take shape and form, Kaine moved away and began to create the metal chain link that would connect to the amulet once it was completed.

@[member="Darth Vornskr"] knew what he was doing; he might not be a specialist, but he had a reputation for alchemy, and that reputation was apparently deserved. She glanced over at the scarred, shirtless Dark Lord and observed his work on the chain, with both eyes and the Force. The chain would be sufficient. Good.

She returned her focus to the amulet itself, little more than a blob of metal full of intrinsic but undifferentiated magics, both hers and Kaine's.

"I was hoping to work with you at some point. I know about your base on Sabarene, of course -- I took Varanin's seat on the High Council, and she told the Council of your presence to keep us from expanding in your direction. Your regional interests make me suspect you've spent more time in the territory between here and Sabarene."

The amulet fell from the mold with a clang.

Kaine chuckled at Rave's words while he finished up with the chain, which was extremely durable as well as exquisite to gaze upon. "You'll have to visit Sabarene sometime, Caretaker. The Graug are wonderful warriors and weapon smiths, their foundries churn and billow with smoke day and night, clouding the sky with blackness. No doubt you would fit in with among their best and brightest smiths." Kaine moved from his work bench to Rave's, examining the mold. "The amulet must be unassuming in it's appearance, as too much glamour and flair would draw unwanted attention to it. Perhaps a single jewel as the centerpiece would suffice?"

"It's like you read my mind." She flipped over the cooling amulet to reveal an elegant, understated design with a setting for a single gem. "And I have just the gem for it. Or, well, see what you think."

From another workbench, she procured a tray of loose gems, all expertly cut, all insanely valuable. "Durindfire, corusca, a few others. Take your pick. I'd recommend corusca, because the setting will expose enough of the gem at a high enough profile that, with a lot of patience, you could use it to cut nearly anything."

Kaine rubbed his chin in thought as he surveyed the gems, and he agreed with Rave's sentiment on the corusca crystal. "Agreed, Caretaker. The corusca gem could prove to be worthwhile for things other than it's decorative stature." Kaine said with a nod, before levitating said gem with the force and bringing it over to the completed amulet. Kaine then slowly lowered the gem directly into the socket, the Dark Side permeating the union of amulet and gem with a darkened glow. "There, the gem is in place. Now we must attune the amulet to fit my purpose."

"And that," said Rave with half a laugh, "is my job." Jumpsuit arms still knotted around her waist, the purple-eyed girl in the breast band raised her hands, palms facing the amulet, and closed her eyes.

First and foremost, alchemy had to do with strength. That part was simple, as if she was making a basic Sith sword, strengthening metal-crystalline matrices with injection of the Dark Side. But from there, she expanded it into the processes and elements of a Force Diffuser, and that would take some work. So she got to work.

Kaine reached out to place his blackened right hand on Rave's shoulder, and began to add his strength on top of her own. Through his eyes he could see the intricate magics fusing with the amulet, leeching into it's form and becoming one with it. There were two distinct strands of magic, the calm purple stream of Rave's magic, and the more jagged green strand of Kaine's, and they both interlocked and moved in sync as they empowered the amulet. Kaine was there just to add support and power to Rave's work, he would not interfere to attempt to take control for himself, he only wanted to make the process quicker and increase the strength and potency of the amulet once it was completed.

@[member="Darth Vornskr"]'s aid wasn't, strictly speaking, necessary, but she managed to weave his strength into the portion of the amulet that would make it respond best to him and him alone. That, and having some Master-level juice never hurt. She'd managed the Rings of Aza'zoth on her own, but this was somewhat larger, more significant. It could stand to have a good bit more power involved.

Greenish Nightsister crafting magics blended with Sith alchemies, plus Kaine's efforts. The amulet shivered on the anvil, rattled.

At last the mental incantation ended. Looping an alchemical chain through the top of the amulet, she held it out to Kaine. A drop of blood fell from her hand -- nobody could say she was not devoted to her craft.

"Give it a try."

Kaine gingerly scooped it from Rave's outstretched hand, his thumb lightly rubbing the gemstone sensually as he looked it over in his hand. Slowly he lifted it above his head and let the chain slide around his neck as he lowered it down to rest. Instantly he could feel the magics infused into the amulet working, suppressing his Dark Side presence like a silencer on a slugthrower to muffle the sound of it discharging. He smiled as he looked to Rave, "It is perfect, Caretaker. An excellent work of art, and I greatly thank you for your assistance in it's creation." He bowed respectfully to Rave, crossing his left arm across his chest as he did. "If that is all, then we are done here. I will contact you when your payment arrives to the location of your choice."

"Formality from, well, you." She smiled; it might, or might not, have reached her eyes. "I'm flattered. And yes, Lord Zambrano, I think we're done here. You're welcome at the Dark Forge any time."
