Lily had heard that Shan had decided to come visit her on Naboo and it was a chance to show off some of the different yet interesting ways Naboo was to other worlds. She had a list of things for them to check out, figuring that planning out the visit would optimise the fun for Shan. There was the market which was doing a spring time event, which she figured was a fun way for Shan to see the less prim and high born attitude that the Naboo can appear to have. There was also a waterfall around Theed that was meant to be very pretty to see, she figured that nature aspect could be a lot of fun to admire as well.

There was of course the Order of Shiraya temple that Lily assumed might hold some interest to Shan as well. She also knew there were some lush fields nearby as well that were amazing pieces of land to frolic around in. An experience that he might not have. There was also the Gungan capital that she had been able to get permission to visit as well, it took some convincing but she had been able to get a chance to visit. There was also the Ophissan city as well, though, Lily knew that visiting both were best done on separate days. Given the history between the two differing races.

But she had worked hard to ensure that her friend had the best time and got a chance to see as much of what Naboo had to offer as he could. It was her first time hosting a visit for a friend and Lily was determined to do the best that she could. Walking down the street, Lily combed her fingers through her hair as she tried to look her best, not wanting to give the appearance of someone who was fresh from a fight and just showered. It was what had happened but she wanted to appear more composed.

Waiting outside the hangar bay for Shan, Lily chewed on her bottom lip, hoping she wouldn't be too overwhelming with her plans for the other Jedi's visit.

Shan really needed to get his own ship. That was the main thought going through his mind as he waited for the public shuttle to arrive on Naboo, resting his chin atop his fist. At least it had given Shan time to read as he skimmed through a datapad. It wasn't anything specific, it was mostly to pass the time. It was better than sitting there doing nothing and getting nervous about the visit. He had no reason to get nervous anyway. It was just going to be two friends exploring the planet of Naboo. It was going to be a unique experience for Shan, considering he was mostly used to the more wretched and scum-like planets of the Galaxy.

Appearence wasn't something he was overly concerned with. His robes were formal enough that he felt like he would be able to wander most planets with them. It was also one of the outfits he was most comfortable with. It also meant he didn't have to keep up with the latest fads when it came to fashion. Though...Hm...Maybe he could afford to let his hair grow out somewhat now that he thought about it. He had normally kept it short because he felt it seemed more professional...

That thought was interrupted as the shuttle finally arrived on the planet. He checked over to make sure he had everything he needed, before hopping up to his feet to follow the slow shuffling line out to the big open world. It was nice to get a breath of fresh air as well. It was almost like a boost of energy as he took a look around the hanger bay. It wasn't too bad he supposed but it looked similar to most of the ones he had seen.

Heading outside, his eyes didn't go to the buildings around. Instead they went straight to Lily where he broke out into a bright grin and practically ran up to her, getting ready to pull her into a hug. It wasn't something he'd have done in the past, but with his confidence slowly rising, the Mirialan was also starting to become more out-going in the same vein.

Seeing Shan run up to her, Lily smirked and pulled him into a hug, enjoying the comfort of her friend and his presence on Naboo. It was nice to see Shan here and being able to spend time with him again. Lily held the hug for several moments since it was nice to spend this small moment with him before they went on exploring Naboo together. Pulling back, she gave a small smile and looked the other Jedi over. "Hopefully you had a safe trip over here, did you fly over on your own ship?" Lily asked, breaking the ice.

Stepping aside, Lily looked out to the city of Theed as she walked forward. "Anywhere or anything you wish to do first here on your visit?" Lily asked as she placed her hands behind her and walked forward Curious to see what Shan wanted to do with his time on Naboo, she was interested in learning if there was somewhere he had in mind to visit or explore certain cultural sites.

Breathing in deeply, Lily enjoyed the spring fresh air as she felt the breeze against her skin and the sun keeping the chill at bay. It was another pleasant day on Naboo and definitely a good day for walking and exploring the region. She smiled as she waited for Shan to inform her on what he wanted to do and demonstrated herself as being attentive and listening while they walked.

"The trip over was fine! I had to get public transport though. My interceptor got shot down a while back and I haven't really got a replacement for it yet."

It was something on his mind but it wasn't too important. For now, he focused on their surroundings as he took in the sight of Theed and also glanced over towards Lily to watch the way she walked, a small smile forming on his face before he looked ahead of himself. This was nice. It gave him a chance to get away from his work and feel like just himself. Something that he had been struggling to do recently as he tilted his head in thought, trying to figure out what exactly there was they could do.

"I'm not sure. You have more experience with Naboo than I do. Perhaps I should ask the expert what she thinks would be the best thing to do? We can and visit some of the buildings I suppose, but I didn't...do as much research as I should have. I care more about spending time with you, than I do about spending time on Naboo."

Some quality time with Lily was what Shan was the most excited for. He did like the idea of visiting Theed of course, but he liked this more as he stretched his arms out behind his head for a moment, letting his gaze travel once more.

"I feel like I'm over-dressed for here. It's a lot hotter than I expected it to be."

Just some casual chat. It was nice to make small-talk, considering how much he was used to having philosophical debates with people. There was no need for any philosophy right now. It was just two friends, enjoying their time together.

Listening, Lily nodded her head, "I did that a lot when I was travelling. Not always ideal to use public transport or renting, but sometimes cheaper than buying a brand new ship. Hopefully you can get a new replacement ship, I know a few ships that are meant to be really good as starfighters." Lily mentioned, her aunt had made a series of ships that were success. Lily had also gotten to understand how a few fighters worked from her training in flying as well as the lessons she got from her aunt.

Looking around the streets, Lily subtly guided Shan through the alleyways as she led towards the marketplace which she thought was a pleasant start to any visit to Naboo. Especially on Theed, the market was quite exciting and there was always something on sale that people were interested in purchasing. At least, Lily always found something she wanted to purchase. When Shan mentioned that he felt overdressed, Lily let out a giggle as she looked over to him.

"Well, I am rarely someone who wears my Jedi formal attire unless I am on Jedi business. So might be that I am the trouble maker and you are doing the right thing." Lily mentioned with a smirk on her lips, "however, the temple or market might have some differing outfits that might suit the climate a bit more." Lily added, in case he did wish to change into something more comfortable.

Thinking on what they could do, "there's the lake district that is very pleasant this time of year. The marketplace always has a great selection on sale. The temple could be a fun visit as well if you wanted to check out what the Order here is like." She knew that Shan was more accustomed to the NJO in the GA so seeing how the Order of Shiraya did things and how it operated might be of interest.

"It's not ideal, but you'd be surprised by the people you can meet on public transport. It helps to remind me of the people I'm helping, instead of isolating myself away on some fancy ship that the common person couldn't afford."

Shan gave a small dismissive wave of his hand at that. He had seen plenty of Jedi with luxury yachts or ships that they'd soar through the Galaxy, without thinking about it. It wasn't much of an issue for Shan himself, but it wasn't something he could ever think of doing. He was always humble, so the idea of showing off what he had...It just didn't appeal to him. For now, he focused on the streets they walked through, following Lily through the alleyways as closely as he could. He didn't want to lose her here.

"Heh. I've never been good at buying outfits myself. Fashion isn't something I'm...good with. It's why I wear this all the time. You're lucky. You look good in your formal attire and out of it."

It was true. Shan never had much of a taste for fashion. He just went with what was comfortable, and for him, most of the time his robes were comfortable. They were loose enough to move in, but also fitted enough that he didn't have to readjust them every ten minutes. Maybe he could try changing once they visited the Temple but he wasn't entirely sure just yet.

"We can visit the Lake District first I suppose? Then visiting the Temple should be next. I did originally want to learn more about the Culture here with the Order. It'd be interesting to see how they operate compared to what I'm used to. Seeing different people's approach to teaching and their beliefs."

And so seeing how the Order of Shiraya operated was high on his list of priorities. But it wasn't his main goal right now. Right now, it was to make up for time he hadn't spent with Lily. He hadn't felt like the best of friends recently and wanted to make up for it today.

Lily chuckled as Shan talked about enjoying the benefits of public transport. "Ah, forever a man of the people. I forget how much you believe in surrounding yourself with people like that." It was one approach to being a Jedi, Lily felt conflicted on it personally. She was not someone who did well surrounded by strangers but understanding those you wished to protect can at times increase morale and drive to succeed in the face of impossible odds. "Still important to get your own vessel, makes it easier and more streamline when travelling to missions or battle."

"Well, clothes shopping is always best with friends, right? Who knows, maybe I can find your style in the Naboo fashions." Lily giggled with a teasing wink to Shan. She shrugged her shoulders, "fashion was important for my family. Looking presentable was important for my family. Also, I tend to lean towards clothing that gives me the ability to move as fluidly as possible. That Echani instinct, I guess."

"Also, good to know you've been checking me out both in my Jedi attire and out of it." Lily poked her tongue out to Shan, teasing her friend before she turned around and continued to wander the alleyways.

Nodding her head, adjusting course, she headed towards some speeders that could take them to the Lake Country. "It's a trek but the sights are meant to be quite something and the speeders should help us get there easily enough." Lily stated with a warm smile, "anything new going on with you since we last talked?" Lily asked, curious if her friend had gotten better since their last chat and what was new with him.

Arriving at the speeders, Lily slid elegantly into the driving position. Going through the checks to make sure the speeder was going to be capable of taking them to where they were heading next.

"I get it. Some Jedi don't necessarily agree with it. It's an argument Colette and I used to have. She thought that us having the Force made us special and different to the average person. I thought otherwise. Force or not, everyone...or well most people are living. Connected to each other...Sorry. Didn't mean to get all philosophical.

In a way, Shan was far and away a firm believer in the idea of the Force as a living thing that connected everything. It did not matter that he could use the Force or not. It did not make him any different in the eyes of the Force. It also helped him to better...deal with his concerns he had in himself. Either way, he nodded to Lily's comment about how having his own ship could make missions easier and faster. He hadn't really had any missions that relied on speed but that could always change in the future if he was honest to himself.

He raised an eyebrow at the teasing about Lily being able to find his style and just let out a small chuckle, shaking his head. It was fun to talk like this. It was casual and he didn't have to worry about being too uptight.

"Well. Your Echani instincts are impressive. Finding outfits that you can move well in AND look good is quite an achievement in my eyes. If it means anything, I've never seen you look anything less than presentable. You've always looked so strong to me. It's inspiring."

There was a part of him that debated teasing Lily about her comment with him checking her out but it wasn't exactly wrong. It wasn't something he had fully paid attention to during his training but things had somewhat changed since then. For now however, he decided to leave the subject. Maybe he could comment on it later instead.

"Nothing overly new. I had a sparring session with one of the Jedi Knights, in an attempt to be more...offensive. I'm unsure if it went well. How about you? Are you doing...better? Is that a dumb question to ask?"

Last time they had talked, Lily didn't seem to be in a good place. It might have been a ridiculous question to ask if she was doing better, but he cared. And even if he didn't say it, Shan rested his hand on Lily's shoulder for a moment as a non-verbal reassurance that he was there, before climbing into the speeder.

"Colette can be stubborn at times. I can see her arguing what a Jedi should be doing, even though we are meant to be people with free will. Helping others in our own ways is all that should truly matter." Lily stated, thinking on the fact that her last meeting with Colette ended in a fight about how to proceed on an issue as Jedi. So Lily was not surprised the stubborn Jedi Knight would pick fights with others, even Shan. "Well, I respect the path you wish to follow as a Jedi. Might not be the one suited to me but it is a good path to choose." Lily gave a small smile.

She noted that Shan did not take the bait from her teasing comment, which was slightly disappointing, she always enjoyed a teasing back and forth with someone. But perhaps something that might crop up later or perhaps something that Shan was not interested in doing. Which was also a valid option. "Well, helps when you are born into wealth so you get styled by professionals for many years. Helps you pick up terms and understanding on what looks good and how to compliment your figure." Lily stated, as she knew not many had the options that she gained over the years.

"I strive to find outfits that I can fight in as well as highlight my feminine assets." Lily giggled, "sometimes it can be a bit much but Echani rarely have much shame in showing off skin from what I have known. Especially given how important being able to read the bodies of one another is so important." Lily mentioned, pointing out reasons for her choices in attire and what she looked for personally. "So perhaps you need to know what it is you like, makes you feel confident and the areas of yourself that you wish to highlight when you dress." Lily added, wondering if small advice like that could help her friend out.

Shaking her head, "no dumb questions... Nothing solved for me but I am glad to hear that you sparred with another Jedi Knight. Was it anyone I know?" Lily asked, curious who it might have been to see if she had sparred them before, assess how serious and intense that duel might have been.

"Yeah. It's one of the things that lead to our breakup. Whilst we had similar interests on the surface level...What we were really looking for was different. I wanted a family. To have a house to settle down at. She didn't want that. I don't mind it though. I still care for her. Her and the Nobles are like family to me. The family I never had."

He gave a short nod at that. Shan wasn't the kind to hold grudges for things. If anything, it was a sense of pride for him that he didn't view anyone as an enemy or as a foe. It was still a naive belief but it also helped him get along with people in his eyes. If he went around seeing people as enemies, it would be hard for him to care for them. And he wanted to care for everyone in the Galaxy.

"I mean. It also helps when you're blessed with good genetics. It's easy to wear something that looks good, when you're already looking good. Honestly, I think it'd be a struggle for you to find something you'd look bad in. I don't think there's any clothes in the Galaxy that could insult your figure."

The Mirialan rolled his eyes slightly at the comment about Lily striving to find what highlighted her assets, a small smirk playing on his face...Though he did give Lily a quick glance out of the corner of his eye. She wasn't wrong. But there was the more practical reasoning like being able to read someone's body as they fought. It probably made it easier to know how they were going to move and when.

"You're right that sometimes it might be a bit much...but you look good. You should be able to show off if you feel comfortable. I just feel confident wearing...what I wear. It might be a bit boring colour wise, and I might dress up like some ancient monk but it's me. I've never been focused on showing off how I look. The only time I really change up what I wear is on big offensive missions. When I need to wear some kind of armour. Even then, it's not to protect me. It's so I can protect the people behind me."

In the past, Shan might have been more hesitant about complimenting Lily's appearance, admitting that he was actually looking at her like that but now? It was more...casual. He felt comfortable with saying it. He felt comfortable with her. It was better for him to be straight forward and upfront about it, then for him to try and dance around the subject.

"Drystan Creed. He seems...unorthodox. But he's a good teacher. Kept trying to push me out of my comfort zone. Sometimes that's the teaching style people need. He helped me realise how annoying my fighting style can be."

A grin flickered on Shan's face at that. He had never properly fought against someone using Soresu, and Drystan had helped Shan realise why stamina was always so important with it. He had gotten exhausted battering against Drystan's saber, whilst the other Knight hadn't even broken a sweat.

"But hey...Lily. If you ever want to hang out, to get your mind off stuff, just send me a message. I'll make my way here as fast as I can. Could be an excuse for me to get my own ship again."

It was an offer. Not for them to do something like this, where he gets shown around. More as a something that could be a distraction. Camping, Hiking, seeing a Holo-Vid. Shan knew being in your own head or having your own problems could be tough. Sometimes you needed someone to pull you out. And he was going to be that person for as many people as he could.

"Really? Yeah, I can't see Colette wanting to be a mother or settling down in any one place for too long." Lily stated as she thought about her friend and the way Colette was at times. "I haven't even thought about having a family or settling down. Just feels like there is so much other things that need to be done before I could even consider that." Lily mentioned, she had thought of it before, years ago as a young teenager. The idea of a family, the size, where she would live, the names she would give them. It had all been planned but now that seemed like a fantasize for someone completely else. Lily couldn't think past the next battle, the next fight now.

Lily huffed and shook her head, "so all Echani are beautiful then? You do realise the thing about my whole race is that we all look very similar." Lily poked her tongue out teasingly to Shan. "I'm sure there are plenty of clothing that would do me a disservice, but I appreciate the compliment. I think you look good and fill out your outfits very nicely." She gave a teasing wink to Shan.

Drystan Creed. It was a name she did not recognise right off the top of her head. It seemed to be someone who might have joined the New Jedi Order after she left to join her Master on Naboo. "It is good to learn differing views on the same combat style, can be insightful on how an opponent will react or use such a combat form against you." Lily mentioned, clearly someone who took combat training seriously. "Would be interesting to see the improvements you have made in sparring some day." Lily grinned over to Shan as she drove.

Her smile faded when Shan made a point to reach out and was always available to help her, if she ever wanted to reach out to him. "I... I understand." Lily stated as her attention returned to where the speeder was going. There was hesitation in her body language, she was still feeling broken, something amiss but she knew that Shan wanted to help. It was just tough since Lily didn't even know how someone could help her. Something just did not feel right anymore.

"Sometimes I'm not sure if I could do it either. I'm worried about being like my Dad sometimes. I don't want to end up being a deadbeat like him in the future. It's not something I expect most people our age to be thinking about yet. There's plenty we still have to train to be ready for...but at the same time, we have to remember our own dreams as well. What we want."

Shan shrugged his shoulders once more. It was honestly a dream that he had pushed to the back of his mind. A family wasn't something he could ever see himself having anytime soon as much as he might have wanted. It was to help give him an identity in a way but he didn't have a family of his own. He didn't have much to pass on. So it was something he didn't think about anymore. Though he raised an eyebrow at Lily's comment about the Echani and broke out into a small smirk of his own.

"I mean. The Echani are all beautiful, yes, but the only Echani I've ever given a second glance to is you. You might all look similar but I don't just look at the physical. You're beautiful, both on the outside and the inside. I'm glad to be able to call you my friend...and I appreciate your comment about me filling out my outfits nicely."

His cheeks turned a darker shade of green for a moment out of embarrassment. He wasn't good with compliments himself as he rubbed his neck, turning his gaze to their surroundings as the speeder moved. It made sense that Lily would approve of the sparring, and he couldn't help but break out into a small grin at the mentioning of the pair of them sparring sometimes.

"I might not have always been up for it, but I'd be eager to spar with you sometime Lily. Be it with Lightsabers or hand to hand. I don't think we ever had a proper spar together."

And then as Lily's smile dropped, Shan just...stayed quiet. There wasn't much he could add to make Lily feel better. All he could do was offer to be there for Lily. He'd always be there for her and anyone else. It was his way of being a Jedi. He was there for the people he loved and cared for.

Lily thought about what she could say to help Shan with the concerns that he would be like his dad. "I... You and your father are not the same, you have lived a very different life. I am sure that will end up being reflected in the different ways you approach raising a child." It was a similar mindset she had fearing that she would be like her mother and grandmother, selecting favourites and neglecting her child's dreams and desires. However, Lily always reminded herself that she was not her mother or grandmother, she was different and led a different life.

"It does feel like there is a lot going on in the galaxy. Leaving the Order to raise a child, I just don't think it would be responsible to do that right now." Lily mused aloud, thinking on what terms would be okay for her to leave the Order without feeling guilty. She wasn't sure there would be a time while the Sith Order was still going as strong as it was, but she also had no clue when the galaxy would feel safe next. While other Jedi remain in the Order while raising children, Lily wasn't sure she would feel comfortable doing that.

A lot more questions were roaming in her mind again that she hadn't thought about in a long time.

There was a pale rose blush appeared on Lily's cheeks when Shan complimented Lily so firmly. While she had gotten plenty of compliments in the past from people without blushing before. However, since the kiss from their last meeting, Lily felt a little more vulnerable and exposed. But it was not something she considered back.

"Of course, I don't think you have ever looked bad. Might be fun to see you in some other outfits that aren't Jedi related." Lily poked her tongue out at Shan.

Nodding her head, "I am sure that we can do some sparring while you are here." Lily mentioned, trying to steer herself out of the pit that her mind found itself back in. Focusing on enjoying the moment once again with Shan. She couldn't stand being miserable, especially with a friend.

Slowing the speeder down, they had arrived in the Lake Country. Lily moved out of the speeder and looked around the serene, beautiful and elegant. Lily breathed in deeply, "this is meant to be one of the more beautiful areas of Naboo. Also a quieter part of the world. A bit away from Theed and the Order." Lily mentioned as she spoke aloud, giving some information about the region that she had learned while here. Looking over to Shan, feigning a smile to keep the mood of the trip still positive.

"What do you think though?" Lily asked, curious on his thoughts.

"I like to think I'm different to him. That I'm more caring than he is. But who's to say I won't be like him when I grow older? If I grow to be more...bitter and angry at the Galaxy. It's just a concern of mine. A pointless one...but I still have it."

It wasn't quite something Shan had wanted to think about himself. It was a constant thought in the back of his mind. That he wouldn't be a good Father. That he's not a good Master. Nor is he even a good role model. There was the part of him that wanted to build an Orphanage, so he could work on improving on that...but the plan had practically blown apart with making it on Onderon. So for now, he had put the Orphanage on the backburner whilst he focused on other aspects of himself.

"That's a mentality that would kill me. Things will always be happening in the Galaxy. Things we can't control. Things we can't always prevent. To not be able to rest until it's dealt with...I think that's a situation where there would never be any rest. I have faith that if I ever need to take a break from the Order again, that the others can shoulder my burden. Perhaps that's a selfish thought of mine. But I have had plenty of people recently tell me that I should focus on myself, and to stop holding so much on my shoulders."

A small shrug was his response to his statement, before Shan spotted the pale blush on Lily's face...and his face broke out into a huge teasing grin. Shan didn't expect that to have happened so he gave Lily a gentle nudge. There was a part of him that debated if he should tease her about the blush...but then again, this was a side of Lily that was being vulnerable. Shan wasn't the kind of man to tease about something like that.

"You look really good when you blush. It...brings your eyes out more. Y'know. Because...pink and blue?...Okay. This sounded better...at first. I should stop talking."

Of course he had to put his foot in his mouth. He had to keep talking. Shan knew he still had to find out that less words could sometimes say more. As soon as they arrived at the Lake Country, Shan hopped out of the speeder with a little flip. He wanted to show off a little at the end of the day. His eyes darted over towards Lily for a moment, fighting the urge to frown. He had to fake a smile plenty of times in the past so he was at least somewhat familiar when someone else was doing the same.

"I like it. It's quiet. I'd love to meditate out here sometime. If you had brought me here when I was a Padawan, I'd be having a playday. Staring at everything, running my hands through all of the plants. By the Force, I miss those days."

Shan stepped over towards Lily's side, mostly just...as a physical presence to try and cheer her up. It was doubtful it would work but Shan wasn't the kind to give up on trying.

"I understand, an irrational fear that can't be disregarded with logical thinking." Lily mentioned, she had plenty of thoughts that were in a similar vein and she couldn't just will herself to stop thinking that way. It was always there, best thing she could do was accept that they were irrational and keep moving forward.

They couldn't let the negative thoughts drag them down or hold them back.

"Maybe... I suppose I just hope that there will be peace for a time. A time where the Sith aren't actively trying to war against the galaxy, that alliances can be established and serenity can rule for a couple decades." Lily gave a sigh mixed with a chuckle, "but that does seem to be asking for too much. I trust that things would be fine without my presence. I am not vain enough to believe the Jedi would collapse without me. But..." Lily paused as she thought on how to best express herself, "I also think that leaving would be irresponsible of me. That I need to use the training and gifts I have to continue fighting, protecting and defending the freedoms of those who cannot fight as hard as I can. And leaving the fight to raise a child... It feels reckless to me at times."

It felt like a lose-lose situation. Either she would have to forego her dreams of having a family to be the protector that people needed her to be. Or she had to live with the guilt that potential lives she could have saved were lost because Lily chose to be selfish for a time.

She felt the nudge from Shan and then his comments on her blushing, which only made her blush more since he was highlighting it. "It's... it's nothing. Just not use to being out in the sun for such a long period." It was a very obvious lie but Lily didn't want to admit that Shan giving her compliments still gave her butterflies in her stomach at times. Especially after their last meeting where they agreed to remain just friends.

"Well, don't let me stop you from releasing that inner child part of yourself again. Go ahead, enjoy the nature." Lily stated in a soft teasing tone, when he stepped closer, she looked up at him then just rested her head against his shoulder. Grateful for the closeness. "Does feel like sometimes becoming a Jedi meant that I lost an innocent, happier part of myself to endure the endless wars."

"You can say that again. It used to be such a pain when I was younger and tried to figure everything out logically. I thought everything had to make sense. Now that I'm older, I realise that the Galaxy rarely makes sense. Not everything is logical...and that honestly makes it easier to deal with. I don't need to figure out the answers."

It was a relief for Shan. There was a part of him that was worried that if he had fallen into the rabbit-hole of trying to find the logic in everything, he could have fallen down a Darker path. A path that sought knowledge at any costs. But luckily for him, he did not. He was fairly laid back in his search for education. Though he turned his head over towards Lily, giving a short nod as she spoke.

"I can understand how you feel Lily. It is not how I feel, but I can understand. You want to make the best use out of the training and the gifts you have to protect people. It's an honourable goal. Perhaps it would be irresponsible of me to leave the Order, but I've done it before. For my education. And I may do it in the future, to specialise. Of course, that won't be until after I've taught Zaiya more. I won't abandon her a second time."

Shan had already decided that he was content to be selfish for a time. In the past, it would have torn him apart. The mere idea of thinking about his own wishes and wants instead of others people would have been impossible...yet recent experiences had made him realise that he wasn't fair on himself. He was alive. He was still a living person at the end of the day. Shan was not some droid, that had to fulfil tasks. Yet he raised an eyebrow as Lily seemed to lie about the blush as he shook his head for a moment.

"It's okay to blush Lily. We care for each other. Even if we're friends, you're still one of the most important people in my life. You've been a key part of my life as a Jedi. In fact if I think about it now...you're one of the people I've known the longest in my life now. You're one of the people who mean the Galaxy to me."

At least, since his mother was kidnapped and he cut off contact with his father. Apart from Valery, Lily was the oldest connection he had. It was nice to think about as he lifted his arm to gently wrap around Lily as she rested her head atop his shoulder, his eyes focused ahead of them as he once again listened, a small frown spreading on his face as he turned his head to look at her.

"That part of you is still inside there. Somewhere. I know it. It's just...protecting itself from the pain of the Galaxy. But sometimes it takes times like this to let that innocence out. I promise you Lily. You don't need to...be strong around me. You don't need to be serious. If you want to just let things out, go ahead."

It wasn't that he was saying that Lily was keeping things held up inside of her, but Shan used to be the same. Focusing on work, on healing all the time instead of himself. So now, he took what moments of rest he could as leisurely as he could. Right now, he wasn't Shan the Jedi, or Shan the healer. No. He was Shan the friend.

Nodding her head, she understood Shan's point, "I would think about maybe having a partner who would be the stay at home parent but there would still be over a year that I couldn't really be fighting or defending people due to the pregnancy and nursing the baby." Lily mentioned. Clearly having thought about this for a while, "so... just feels harder as a woman in that regard." Lily confessed, her commitment to a child would be just as serious as her dedication to the Order. If not more so.

"It's good that you know what you are willing to do and want to do. Good that you are sticking by Zaiya's side too. I am sure that she appreciates that." Lily gave a warm smile, "I know I would struggle if Briana left and I needed to find a new Master." The thought of having to get a new teacher after Briana was a terrifying one. One that she would not allow herself to linger on. Things were good as they were, she was fine and the change was not going to happen. Lily just had to remind herself of that so she didn't start irrationally panicking over the idea.

When Shan called her out on lying about blushing, Lily was stunned, she felt her cheeks burning a little more since he had seen through her lie so easily and was being very public on calling her out. "It's not...It's not very polite.... to call someone out on blushing, you know?!" Lily stuttered weakly as she tried to defend herself. She also felt very close to Shan as well, not just because of her attraction to him but he had been one of the first people she had gotten to know and befriend in the Jedi Order. It was also someone who challenged her views on what it was to be a Jedi. That being a warrior wasn't the main point of being one.

Hearing the words from Shan and feeling the arm comforting her, Lily knew that part of her wanted to confess everything, to spill the beans on all the problems that she was dealing with. However, that wasn't fair to Shan and she swore it was her problem to deal with alone, her crime so she would fix it herself. That was something she stubbornly stuck with, even now. "I appreciate it Shan, the same goes for you. And I will always be strong around you, one of us has to flex the muscles." Lily joked, burying her issues once again and donning the mask of being okay. It wasn't the time or place to break down. She still needed to move forward.

"How are you finding the view?"

"I...clearly can't make a comment on how hard it would be on you as a woman."

Shan let out an awkward chuckle at that, tugging at the collar of his robes for a moment. He knew deep down inside that Shan wasn't entirely dedicated to the Order. His loyalty wasn't so much to the Order or the Alliance as a whole. No. It was towards the people he cared for. The people he trusted. In the past, he had wanted to help everyone. Save the entire Galaxy. He was starting to see how...fruitless that could be. How much bureaucracy or rules could stop you. And...he just didn't have the Strength to push through those rules.

"I hope Zaiya appreciates it. She's already proven that she doesn't need me though. She's survived without me. Most people have. That doesn't mean I'm going to leave again anytime soon."

Zaiya was capable enough in Shan's eyes that as long as she had someone teaching her, she'd be fine. It didn't matter if it was him or Iris. Zaiya was heading down a path that made the Mirialan proud. However, he raised an eyebrow at Lily. Something seemed strange about her when they were discussing the idea of finding a new Master. He wouldn't pry about it however. He was already talking about a few things that weren't exactly comfortable topics at the end of the day.

However when Lily muttered to defend herself and blushed, Shan couldn't help but break out into a huge grin, giving Lily a quick elbow to tease her. So different compared to when he had been a Padawan. Shan wouldn't have dared to tease anyone but he had the confidence to now. IT helped that he trusted Lily.

"What? I thought people liked compliments. I guess I should keep my compliments to myself now."

He raised his hands up defensively at that, keeping the grin on his face. It did fade somewhat when Lily said she'd always be strong around him. It wasn't what he wanted to hear...but whilst he was ready to tease about things, Shan wasn't ready to push on subjects like this. He wasn't experienced in dealing with people who had secrets they wanted to keep so...he just turned his attention towards the view, folding his arms along his front.

"It's good. It's a unique view in a way. In the same way that no matter where you look, you're seeing something unique."

Lily giggled as she shook her head, "I was not expecting you to Shan, don't worry. Just thinking things out aloud. I don't think I gave it much thought till today is all." Lily wasn't seeking comments on the differences they would experience in pregnancies due to gender or the issues that one of them might face over the other. It was just sometimes nice to be heard and feel comfortable in expressing such thoughts without criticism or someone attempting to solve the issue.

But there was also a fundamental difference between them that Lily was realising. Shan wasn't seeing the Jedi Order as the final place he would be at or work as a Jedi till retirement/death. It was something he took on now but Lily could tell that he might leave the Jedi Order again. It was a brave move but one that Lily couldn't take, she wouldn't take such a path. Lily was dedicated the Order now and committed to the fight, it was incredibly dangerous but something that took time for her to realise. It had not been her initial decision to join the Order but she was following Briana where her Master went and the friends she had within the Order helped to strengthen her resolve.

"Not needing someone to survive is good but your inclusion could mean she has a chance to live a life that isn't focused on survival." She knew that Shan didn't mean Zaiya was just focused on that, but she wanted to point out that his presence would be an addition to Zaiya's life. He always added to her own life. "Having your presence in my life improved things even though I knew how to fight and survive already. Could be the same for her." Explaining in case her point was missed. Metaphors were tricky and Lily was not always the best with them.

She felt the nudge from Shan and gave a firm nudge back. Smirking as he teased her in a manner she enjoyed far more than people who attempted to be overly serious or aggressive in their interactions with her. "Someone has gotten bold over the years, huh." Lily poked her tongue out at her.

There was also a relief when Shan didn't press her on the issue of her problems since she was not sure that she could hold them in if pressed too hard.

Nodding her head, "there is always something unique and stunning that Naboo can share, I find. Makes sense on why so many people see Naboo in more positive light in comparison to other worlds like Coruscant."

"Sorry. You know me. I always want to try...and put myself in the shoes of the people I care for."

It was something Shan had been trying to do as he grew older and more mature. To put himself in the perspective of the people he loved and cared for. Because he was finding more often than not that him and the people he loved were vastly different in personality, wishes and dreams. Whilst he had similarities between them all, those similarities didn't always translate. What might help Kahlil might not work for Lily. What might cheer Lily up when she was feeling down might not work with Zaiya.

"I struggle to believe that I've helped improve things for you Lily. You've always...came off as strong. As if you don't need someone like me. I know it's a foolish belief. I've just...always believed that those who are strong don't need me. I need them."

In a way, Shan did need Lily. She had helped to give him more confidence. Had helped him to break out of his own misguided sense of what was right and what was wrong. Those who took passion in their strength and skills had been an inspiration for him even to this day. Lily had taught him that fighting could be beautiful. Kahlil had taught him that there was nothing wrong with a Jedi fighting as long as it was for protection, and Jenn had taught Shan that sometimes cultures dedicated to war weren't always wrong.

Though he couldn't help but stumble when Lily nudged him back. Shan wasn't exactly weak for a Jedi, but he focused more on agility than actual strength. A little grin spreading across his face however when she said Shan had gotten bold over the years, and he just raised his hands up into the air defensively.

"What can I say? I'm making up for lost time with my teasing. I didn't care about this kind of stuff when I was a Padawan...I...Though...I mean...Wait..."

Shan blinked to himself for a moment, worried that he had put his foot in his mouth as he rubbed the back of his neck, turning his attention away from Lily for a moment to stare off at the sky.

"That's...not to say...I didn't care about you back then. I did. I still do. Care about you I mean...I...Anyway."

Next topic of conversation. Coruscant and Naboo. Yeah. That was great.

"I think Coruscant has beauty in its own way. I know Colette doesn't like Coruscant, and I don't entirely blame her for it...but it's hard to explain. I think there's both a disgusting side to the planet but a beautiful one. And I think the same could be said for most planets."
