The Wake of Balmorra is Captain Tilon Quill's home, a very-long-range expeditionary ship.
In the early 10th century, fresh off his discovery of the planet Doslosk, Tilon learned through Jedi contacts that the Galactic Empire was about to attack the Core Worlds. A private, urgent call for help led him to make uneasy common cause with the militant Lightsworn to neutralize weapons of mass destruction. With years of bridge experience on a heavy freighter, Tilon was given command of a stolen vessel, Balmorran Arms Freighter A-651. He oversaw its modification, infiltrated a weapons factory, deployed Jedi raiders, held the landing pad under sustained assault, and narrowly escaped with a load of casualties and inhumane trihexalon charges. (He overloaded the artificial gravity system in a rescue maneuver while escaping, and despite the best efforts of the best outlaw techs, it has been unreliable since.)
After jettisoning the trihexalon into a star, Tilon and a team of allies responded to a distress call from the destabilized Sith border world of Makem Te. He fitted the ship with an old hibridium double-blind cloaking device and was able to rescue several dozen Swokes Swokes refugees, including resistance fighters from the legendary Temple of the Beatific Razor sect.
With the royalties from his discovery of Doslosk, Tilon hired the Wretched Hive's outlaw techs to repair and refit Freighter A-651. He had been using his father's expeditionary shuttle, the North Ridge, ever since returning from the Longjumper's Mark expedition. Now he returned the shuttle to its pad on Pagodon and moved his garden and personal effects to the newly titled Wake of Balmorra. He named it for its resonance with consequence, sailing, and death. The ship has sometimes run under false telesponders like Our Lady of Jakku (a

Typically, Tilon is alone on the Wake of Balmorra other than his garden and his battle droid translation assistants, Daella and Diana. (They can say 'roger, roger' in over six million forms of communication.) However, the ship can comfortably house several people or briefly transport hundreds in its cargo holds in a emergency. Colleagues who have the Wake of Balmorra's contact codes and a guaranteed bunk and bowl of soup include
