- Reception: Tapping into an existing fan base, the reboot opened to mostly positive reviews and made itself a stable of Holoflix subscription marketing, with the show being continued for five seasons. At least three more seasons are currently planned for the show based on current viewership numbers. The minority of negative reviews mostly focus on changes in the writing and direction from the original, with the majority of those focusing on the gender change of the com-scan officer (female in the reboot, male in the original). The show's following includes regular space opera themed conventions, to include one officially sponsored by Corellia Digital that is known as PRO-CON.
A recurring holodrama, currently in its 5th holovid season. The series is notable for a musical score composed by Barry Sephie, based on the themes of the original, the reboot series (known among fans as "NuVSD") is recognizable for its orchestral scores that accompany the space opera.

Welcome to the reimagined cosmos of The Voyages of the VSD Protector! Taking place in the near future where the galaxy is united by the League of Non-Aligned Worlds. Assembled from a motley crew gathered from the far-corners of the universe, and assigned to the fictionalized Victory-IX class star destroyer Protector, Captain Merl Taggart and his crew are all that stands between mankind and it's future.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Voyages of VSD Protector not only rekindles an old cult holodrama of the forgotten days of yore, it's also (to date) the most complex productions that Holoflix has undertaken. While some localized filming takes place at both Studio 1A and Studio 1B, the majority of filming are shot aboard the real-life Vindica Star Destroyer Excelsior. Shooting across the Corellian System, location shoots have included Corellia, Drall, Selonia, Talus, Tralus, and Centerpoint Station. The annual PRO-CON is typically held aboard one of Corellia Digital's three Vindica-class star destroyers, which are otherwise used as training and research vessels. PRO-CON typically consists of set tours and interactive exhibits aboard Excelsior or one of its "stunt doubles."
