High-rise offices, Nar Shaddaa, Around Midnight

The Courier sat at his desk, most likely for the last time. He hated to leave. Every minute that he sat there getting his affairs in order, the past tugged at him. Nar Shaddaa had been his home since his youth. It was here that he had built his network, and it was here that his network could see all. He wouldn't be losing everything, but when he walked out the door in the morning he'd be consigning himself to a temporary blindness that pained most information brokers to even think of.

But alas, there was not much left on the Smuggler's Moon for The Courier. With the Bryn'adul on the doorstep and the so-called "protection" of the Silver Jedi, Nar Shaddaa was going to be a very different place soon.

The Couriers desk was a dark and robust wood, imported from somewhere lush and far from the sprawling city it currently resided in. The Courier did not have a light, rather letting the dark room be soaked by the bright neon lights outside the large window that he sat in front of.

On his desk there was a computer, a personal holo-pad, and a commlink to his secretary. His secretary was a young man who served as his closest confidante. It was likely that one day he would take over from The Courier, but until then he was but an apprentice to the info broker.

Out of the corner of his eye, the Courier caught the blinking red light of the commlink whilst skimming old files. He pressed the button and was connected to his secretary.

"You have a visitor sir, a rather insistent one."

"Send them in."

On a normal day a visitor at midnight would be common, but The Courier had made it clear he was taking no new clientele, and he had tied up as many loose ends as possible.

Whoever was coming to see him now was either desperate, or The Courier was about to be in some kind of trouble. Whatever the case, he was interested to see who it was. He waited patiently, staring at the doors across the room...

The Courier. Agent Trobona , only knew little of the Man , only that he was an Information Broker with a Considerable Reputation for not hiding his face. He wasn't afraid of the law or the risks his profession brought to him and seemingly enjoyed it. The Politorate long aimed to gain access to important information regarding their enemies in order to provide their Associates with the advantages needed to gain leverage over their enemies but their Intelligence Operations so far were dull , lacking the proper results the Director-Admiral wanted.

Thus , he needed someone who could give him the results he wanted and the Director-Admiral began searching for potential candidates to spearhead the Politorate's Intelligence Branches. While he had Colonel Ivan Stadd he was but a mere Special Operations Operative and thus he was more useful in that field of operations , with the Politorate having it's own issues regarding recruitment , they needed to seek out people with considerable influence and reputations, convince them that it was in their benefit to join the Politorate and that was exactly what Agent Trobona was here for. He was here to seek out either an Alliance with the Courier or recruit him into the Politorate.

Off course because of the fact that it had been already more then one year , the Association had been stagant trying to expand throughout the Deep Core and Core Worlds , Agent Trobona could not take a no for an answer. This man was of great value to the Politorate despite being a Twi'lek and losing him would result in further stagnation. They needed to get him in one way or another and that's why there was a team of Unmarked Politorate Operatives waiting outside , known as the Bloodstones waiting outside in a nearby building facing the Courier's Office. If he were to refuse Trobona's Offer , then the Bloodstones would simply move in swoop him up and take him back to Byss where they could proceed with their plans.

As the Secretary of the Courier let him in , Agent Trobona advanced towards the Mysterious Info Breaker's Office and slowly entered the room soon introducing himself. "Hello there my Name is Trobona , i assume you are the one they call the Courier? Correct?" he said. The Man was nervous especially since he was dealing with elements of the underworld. But he stood up strait trying to look as much professional as possible. If he were going to recruit the Courier into the Politorate he would first need to gain his respect.

"You assume correctly, sir, although the fact that you're standing here makes me believe you already knew the answer to your question," The Courier turned off the screen of his computer and sat upright, steepling his finger while elbows rested on the sides of his desk chair. So far there was nothing overtly suspicious about Trobona, but The Courier kept a pistol in his desk for if any trouble arose. He sized the visitor up and down but nothing made him stand out from any other type of person who'd been in this office before. Well of course there was one thing. The office was for the more... important types. Plenty of common rabble and gangsters in Hutt Space were allowed his services, but they were usually dealt with via intermediaries. Anyone who came to the office directly was someone of worth.

"The fact that you're standing in my office does however mean there is something you don't know, and you need some information." The visitor's affiliation was not presently apparent to The Courier, but he knew Trobona likely wasn't from Nar Shaddaa. If this was a contract from outside of Hutt Space, then helping this man would be beneficial for them both...

Agent Trobona was trilled to see , that atleast the Courier had taken notice and seemed interested in doing business. The Agent then proceeded to moved forth and took a seat infront of the desk of the Courier. "Yes , in fact i do require alot of information." Agent Trobona then paused and took out a datapad. Then the Politorate Agent continued. "You see , i have associated way far down into the Deep Core who seek to gain political influence within the Corporate Authority of Denon. Our only problem , is that the only way to do so is through manipulation and blackmail and in order to do so we require a good deal of information regarding the various Corporate Officials within the C.A.D" The Politorate Agent began.

"Now the main issue with that," The Agent continued "is that my Associates have already tried to establish a Spy Network within the C.A.D to gain such information but so far our efforts have been successful as Marlene Starlight's CorpSec has dismantled every Spy Network we've tried to assemble. And that's why we've turned to you. Because if what they say about you is true , you got informants within nearly every Galactic Government and can provide us with what we want."

The Courier pondered a moment before giving his reply to the agent.

"You've heard correctly. Although Galactic politics is not my primary avenue of business, it is nonetheless necessary that I keep contacts in government. However, my network is lacking considerably in the core worlds. With benefactors such as your associates I will be able to... deal with Denon." he stated succinctly, as time was not on his side.

Agent Trobona had the Courier's interest. Denon was a tough nut to crack in every way. The rule of the Corporate Authorities seemed to impressively rival that of the ancient Hutt Cartel. The planet of Denon itself was administrated by the deadliest capitalists in the galaxy, but once inside it was the forefront of the galactic underworld. It was a place where The Courier wanted to be.

He'd had plenty of dealings with the highest echelon of Nar Shaddaans, be it Hutts, bankers, gangsters, or gamblers. He was confident of his ability to get into the C.A.D., as long as he knew who he'd be working for.

"So tell me, agent, who are your associates?"

Agent Trobona thought for a moment , before giving his reply. "Well unfortunately , i can't give that much information but i will tell you this. My associates primarily operate within a Secretive Private/Quasi-Governmental Intelligence Agency , called the Politorate in which is based in the Deep Core and pretty much operates in almost every corner of the Galaxy."It was nice to see that the Courier was greatly interested , as it meant that Agent Trobona was one step closer to achieving his objectives.

However thinking back at his earlier goals of recruiting The Courier , the Politorate Agent had decided that it was best to begin with a simple Partnership with the Information Broker, after all if the Courier lived up to his reputation , the Politorate could end up coming back to him with more jobs and a larger payment , something that would create a profitable relationship between both parties in which Trobona thought would eventually lead to the Courier's Integration into the Politorate. It was a smart strategy and surely the Director-Admiral would approve , but first things first , the Agent had to succeed here if he were to make any further progress.

In the Agent's mind this meeting however would only lead to the further expansion of the Politorate that would only serve to aid them in their malicious goals. As of now , the Courier was unofficially on the list of potential recruits into the Association.

"Very well. I suppose it isn't my place to pry too deeply into my client's affairs. I'll save the prying for Denon." The Courier rose from his seat and extended a handshake to his new client. In truth, he wanted to know more. If he played his cards right then perhaps he would, further down the line.

"My secretary will give you a number you can reach me at in the future, as within the next half rotation this office will be completely empty. He will also get in contact with your people and begin to discuss payment methods, although it isn't something we need worry about immediately. Embedding myself in the Corporate Authorities
is a task with an as-of-yet undetermined time frame."

After their handshake, should the man have accepted, The Courier straightened his jacket and made for the door, gesturing his new acquaintance to follow. Pressing the door panel, it slid open smoothly.

"It has been a pleasure to have made your business, Agent Trobona. I look forward to what Denon has in store for all of us."
