PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type I atmosphere
  • Average Height of Adults: 1.8 meters
  • Average Length of Adults: N/A
  • Skin color: Varies from earthy tones to metallic hues, ranging from browns and greens to whites, grays, blues, and black.

  • Distinctions: Perhaps the most distinctive feature of the Turians are their eyes, which enables them to see into the ultraviolet spectrum. Turians possess a metallic carapace that extends from the lower back up the spine, crowning in a rigid crest atop the head. These can vary in shape, size, and color, serving primarily as a means of protection against Limbala’s acidic hydrosphere.
  • Races:
    • Avix: Known more officially as ‘Limbalans’, the Avix are Turians born on Limbala itself. On a physical level, Avix tend to have thicker, more prominent crests and carapaces than their off-world cousins on account of extended exposure to Limbala’s acidic environment. In terms of cultural identity, the Avix tend to have a strong national identity and inclination toward civil service. Some Avix fall into more extreme ends of the spectrum, believing in a strong, insular society while others are eager to forge new alliances.
    • Cydonians: Revered as pioneers of the Turian people, Cydonians are descendants of the first generation colonies on Limbala’s twin moons, and later, the distant worlds of their home sector. While the term ‘Cydonians’ was initially coined to describe Turians from the colony of Cydonia, it has grown to include those who hail from each of the four major Turian colony worlds. Cydonians tend to be adventurous and mercantile, seeking bold trade deals and exploring the frontier of the Outer Rim.
    • Sectorals: The youngest ethnic group in Turian society are the Sectorals, named for the Corporate Sector from which they hail. Sectorals come from dozens of planets and systems throughout Corporate space, blended and assimilated with the variety of other client species and immigrated peoples that form the CSA’s diverse population. Of the three groups, Sectorals are the most varied in their cultural identity. They are recognized by their immense contributions to the Corporate Sector’s military industrial complex, CorpSec, and planetary governance.
  • Force Sensitivity: Low
Strengths:
  • Weather the Storm: Limbala is a highly acidic world, resulting in a biosphere of chitinous fauna that have evolved to survive its corrosive rains. The Turians possess metallic carapaces that provides natural environmental protection against harsh weather.
  • Purple Rain: Turians have four front-facing eyes with capability to see ultraviolet light.
Weaknesses:
  • Duty, Adventure & Gambit: Most Turians have an ingrained sense of adventure, leading many of them into dangerous professions and hobbies that range from thrilling to outright deadly.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Turians are omnivores, preferring a varied diet of nuts and seeds, eggs, and meat. They are genetically intolerant of several proteins and organic chemicals, most notably lucibufagin, a steroid produced by Limbalan fireflies. Turians are also allergic to the grayanotoxins found in several common plant species. Both of these cause profound cardiovascular complications for Turians if ingested.
  • Communication: Turians communicate through spoken language comprised of guttural clicks, chirps, and short hisses. In many ways, it is similar to the Hiitian language. When communicating in Galactic Basic, Turians exhibit a unique flanging effect in the throat that ‘layers’ their voices.
  • Technology Level: Galactic Standard; Interstellar spacefaring
  • Religion/Beliefs: Many Turians follow the traditional Limbalan religion, a system of ancestral veneration known as the Golden Path. Hundreds of notable figures throughout Turian history who have accomplished immense success, overcome insurmountable odds, or pioneered a new era for their people are recognized and honored for their achievements. They are often posthumously granted the title of ‘Paragon’, though there are cases where living Turians receive this honor; This is the greatest experience a devout follower of the faith can have in his or her life.
  • General behavior: [ Describe general behaviors such as: family life, values, how they raise their young, how they find mates, how they interact with the world and other species around them. Do they hunt? Do they build? Are they inventors? Are they explorers? Are they nocturnal or diurnal? Do they attend schools? Etc, etc. ]
