- 'Firewatch' CIPU Fire Control: A targetting system that improves the accuracy of missile fired ordinance greatly.
- Hypervelocity Cannon: The Tirailleur-Class' main armament is the hypervelocity gun taken from a surface mounted battery and mounted unto the vessel.
- Packing: The Tirailleur-Class is a vessel which is essentially built up and around a centralised hypervelocity gun and as such, it hits far above its weight regarding batteries.
- Agile: The Tirailleur-Class is fitted with superior engines, allowing it to speed past most obstacles and gun batteries.
- Range: With a gargantuan hypervelocity cannon, the Tirailleur-Class has a superior range to most other vessels it encounters.
- Flash: To fire its primary hypervelocity battery, the Tirailleur must disable its shields momentarily to allow for the warhead to pass. This makes it vulnerable.
- Forward Facing Attacker: While the other weapons aboard the Tirailleur are modular, its primary battery, the hypervelocity gun, is incapable of changing its angle, meaning it can only be fired on a forward facing angle.
The Tirailleur-Class frigate is a vessel which is effectively a big gun. A big gun which flies fast and can deliver a payload well and truly above what is typically found of a ship of its size and at a range also not typically found of its size. Said weapon? A hypervelocity battery, of the sort typically found stationed on outposts or fortress worlds, now strapped in the middle of the vessel. The Tirailleur thus becomes, a highly mobile artillery battery with great weapons capability. Outside of artillery style bombardments with its primary battery, the Tirailleur holds a strong capacity for weapons, such as smaller mass drivers, missiles, torpedos and conventional turbolasers.
There are some issues with the design however, and these are to do with primarily the hypervelocity guns. And those are that the guns cannot fire unless the shields are disabled. This makes the vessel vulnerable when it is engaging hostiles. On top of that, the large and unweidly gun is very poor in regards to aiming. It requires the entire vessel to move, to aim. And finally, there is the fighter problem. The Tirailleur is not fitted with a fighter compliment, which compromises its ability to defend against strikecraft.
