- Description: The Tidewatch Aerie is a palace sanctuary built between towering Sequoia-Maples, rooted in the deep earth of coastal cliffs and overlooking the endless expanse of sea and sky. Perched high above, it serves as both fortress and haven.
At its feet stretch rolling grassy meadows, with three stone pavilions blending alongside cultivated gardens. A river winds down from the inland mountains, its waters feeding waterfalls and pools that spill across terraces before plunging into the tidal caves below and out into the open sea. These caves, carved naturally by the waves, conceal hidden hollows that expand into secret underground caverns beside a hangar bay, large enough to shelter ships and boats.
The Aerie draws power from solar panels hidden in the canopy, a water wheel at the cliff's base, and a few windmills along the heights.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Exteriors
Arrival Deck
A circular landing platform crowns the approach to the Tidewatch Aerie. While wide and stable enough to accommodate small starfighters, shuttles, and other small transports, it cannot support large freighters or capital ships. At its center, a massive elevator-lift rises and descends connecting the meadows directly to the upper halls.
Grand Entry
The formal entrance to the palace is a set of monumental arched doors of woven wood and crystal aranged as 'stained glass', approached by two sweeping staircases. The stairs are wide enough for processions, their sides flanked by carved stone balustrades twined with flowering vines.

Observation Towers
Slender spires and domes rise above the canopy, their walls of glass and stone giving unobstructed views of the skies and ocean horizon. Used both for navigation and stargazing, these towers contain delicate instruments and holo-maps but are disguised to resemble decorative details. At their highest points, beacon lanterns can be lit in shifting colors to signal arrivals, warnings, or emergencies, doubling as lighthouse-fires for ships along the coast. In the event of total power loss, each tower also maintains a simple backup fire-beacon at its summit, an older safeguard meant to be seen when all else goes dark.
Cliffside Terraces
A series of carved ledges step down the cliffs, overlooking waterfalls and the sea. These terraces serve as both meditation spots and defensive outposts, fitted with concealed seating, low walls, and lantern hooks for festivals.

Balconies
From the main halls, wide balconies extend outward, offering sweeping views of both forest and sea. Some are furnished with lounges, others left bare for martial practice, all positioned to catch breezes and the sound of waves.
Rope Webs
Between the great Sequoia-Maples, vast woven nets of cord and root serve as both safety meshes and playful climbing structures. Younglings and visitors often traverse them, while guardians may use them as hidden canopy walkways.

Beachfront Coastal Caves
At the base of the cliffs, the sea has carved an interconnected system of caverns. One such hollow has been expanded into a concealed hangar bay, able to shelter starfighters, shuttles, and small craft away from prying eyes. Others serve as storage or secret escape tunnels, their entrances masked by the tides.
River, Waterfalls & Pools
A mountain-fed river winds down through terraces, splitting into waterfalls that cascade into turquoise pools before plunging into tidal caves. These natural features not only define the Aerie's beauty but also provide fresh water, hydro power, and irrigation and fertilizer for the gardens.

These natural features not only define the Aerie's beauty but also provide fresh water, hydro power, and irrigation and fertilizer for the gardens.
Secret lift platforms and drawbridges are carved directly into cliff faces, masked by stone and foliage. Known only to residents, these approaches allow stealthy entry or evacuation when the main gates are inaccessible.
Windmills on the Heights
Tall, slender towers rise along the cliff peaks where sea winds are strongest. Each windmill is fashioned of pale stone and wood, its vanes inlaid with metal to endure storms. Thin solar panels are set into the broad surfaces of the blades, allowing the towers to gather power from both wind and sunlight as they turn.
Animal Chambers
Terraced alcoves along the lower levels serve as stables and roosts for beasts of burden, riding animals, or messenger birds. Open to sea air but sheltered from storms, these chambers allow mounts and companions to rest safely within the sanctuary.

Gardens & Tool Sheds
Tucked near the cultivated grounds, these functional structures store tools, seeds, and supplies for tending orchards, terraces, and decorative gardens. Smaller sheds are placed throughout the fields as convenient work stations, keeping equipment close at hand for daily care. A larger barn-like storehouse sits farther back from the paths, serving as a sheltered garage for tractors, carts, and heavier machinery needed to maintain the farmlands.
Millhouse
At the base of the river's falls, a water wheel churns ceaselessly, its gears powering both storage and grinding mechanisms. The millhouse doubles as a granary and energy anchor, providing a steady current of strength from the cascading waters.

Carved deep into the cliffside, this concealed chamber houses the Aerie's primary power backbone: a compact central generator paired with a dedicated shield system. Stabilized by ward conduits, it sustains essential functions, lights, life support, and security, when needed.
The canopy's solar arrays, the water wheel, windmills, and tidal collectors all feed supplemental energy into the vault, where excess power is stored in insulated capacitor banks, building reserves against storms or disruption.
Coastal Farm & Docks
Extending from the beach below, piers and wharves allow access to the sea. Small tidal pens hold crabs, clams, shrimp, and krill, while fishing boats provide a steady stream of fresh catch.

Main Hall & Central Spaces
Main Entry HallThe heart of the Aerie's interior is dominated by a colossal, ancient tree trunk that rises through the structure like a natural column. Its surface has been intricately carved into channels where water flows constantly, cascading down into a vast turquoise pool at its base. Orchids, ivy, and flowering vines spill across the stone, filling the chamber with color and fragrance. Above, ribbed vaulted ceilings catch the light of blossom-shaped crystal chandeliers and stained-glass windows, scattering shifting patterns of color across the flagstone floor. The effect is one of cathedral-like awe mingled with natural serenity.
Stage Rotunda
At the core of the great hall rests a circular stone platform used for performances, rituals, and ceremonies. Its acoustics were deliberately tuned during construction, allowing a single voice or instrument to carry effortlessly across the chamber. During festivals, the rotunda is draped in lanterns and flowers; during solemn occasions, it becomes a space for vows, duels, or rites.

A panoramic chamber lined with shelves, alcoves, and quiet reading spaces. Its windows overlook the sea and the forest canopy, flooding the room with natural light during the day and starlight at night. Plush seating is arranged in small clusters, with low tables carved from living wood. Crystals embedded in the walls offer soft illumination for night study. The space functions equally as a center of knowledge, leisure, and conversation.
Kitchen
A broad, circular kitchen designed for both practicality and beauty. A massive stone island anchors the space, used for preparation and communal dining. Behind it flows the Living Sink: a stream-fed basin where water runs continuously from the mountain river, cycling through carved stone channels before draining away. This constant movement keeps the water fresh and lends the room a tranquil soundtrack. The backsplash is alive with moss and orchids, and herbs are cultivated in stone planters set into the counters for immediate use.

A vast glasshouse filled with rare butterflies and exotic birds, their colors flashing like living jewels in the air. Misting systems regulate the temperature, while flowering trees provide constant nectar. For many, the conservatory is less a display and more a sanctuary, where the creatures are free to live, reproduce, and bring movement to the air.
Bioluminescent Gardens
When the sun sets, mosses and flowers scattered throughout the grounds begin to glow. Paths illuminate themselves softly, casting trails of blue, green, and violet. Pools shimmer with faintly glowing reeds, and the living walls seem alive with stars. Walking here at night feels less like strolling a garden and more like wandering through constellations.

Irrigation Systems
Hidden aqueducts and carved channels distribute water from the mountain river across gardens, orchards, and terraces. Stone sluice gates allow for careful redirection, ensuring that even in drought or siege the Aerie's living systems continue to flourish.
Bathing & Relaxation
Steam Chambers
Circular stone rooms are infused with fragrant orchids, cedarwood, and herbs. Heated by concealed geothermal vents, they fill with cleansing steam. Crystals embedded in the walls refract the mist, bathing bathers in shifting light as they inhale the perfumed air. The chambers serve both as places of healing and as social gathering rooms.

Hanging Flower Lamps
Lanterns shaped like blossoms illuminate the halls, terraces, and balconies. During the day, their petals glow faintly with captured sunlight; at night, they shine like constellations in bloom. Each lamp is hand crafted uniquely, so no two flowers are ever exactly the same.
Living Walls
Throughout the Aerie, vertical gardens bloom like murals. Seasonal flowers, ivy, and mosses cover stone surfaces, changing colors with the time of year. In some halls, these Living Walls are cultivated into intricate patterns or symbols, making them as much art as they are architecture. Their presence ensures the Aerie is always alive with greenery, fragrance, and natural beauty.

Defenses & Secret Systems
Hidden Sanctum / Safe RoomThe most secretive of the Aerie's chambers, the Sanctum is buried deep within the roots and stone foundations. Accessible only by hidden doors and biometric or Force-sensitive locks, it serves as a redoubt against attack. The chamber includes:
Shield Generator Controls
Within the same chamber rests the controls to a normally dormant, but capable of raising a protective dome over the sanctuary in times of threat.
Approved Tech - KM-1 "Merlin" Holographic Display
- Core Shelter: A reinforced space with blast-proof doors, collapsible bunks, and independent air supply.
- Supply Stores: Rations, water reserves, medical kits, survival gear, and hidden weapons.
- Command Niche: A compact console linked to the Aerie's cameras, security, and shield dome, disguised beneath crystal-inlaid panels.
- Escape Routes: Narrow passages leading into the cliffside roots, some opening into coastal caves or the tide tunnel.
- Defensive Systems: Micro-shields embedded in walls interwoven through the stone, muffling scans.
Trap Door Network
Select corridors, galleries, and exterior approaches contain concealed drop panels. When triggered, sections of floor retract or tilt, diverting intruders into containment routes, holding areas, or guided exits rather than causing injury.
Electromagnetic Pulse System
Limited-use emitters can discharge directed pulses against hostile machinery. These are intended to disrupt targeting systems, propulsion, or heavy equipment without causing widespread infrastructure damage.
Repulsorlift Interdiction Grid
Subsurface projectors generate interference patterns that destabilize unauthorized hovering vehicles, encouraging controlled landing or withdrawal from protected airspace.
Guardian Beast Protocols
Two Resident Draconis serve as mobile deterrents and rapid response assets.
Point-Defense Interceptors
Elevated tracking installations attempt interception of incoming missiles, artillery, or strike munitions before they reach critical structures.
Limited Anti-Ship Batteries
A small number of heavy emplacements are reserved for confirmed hostile craft. These systems remain subordinate to concealment doctrine, evacuation priority, and shield deployment.
Hanging Walks
Hidden high among the Sequoia-Maples, slender rope bridges and narrow walkways link the canopy. They allow quick traversal without drawing attention. From here, lookouts can observe approaching ships or intruders while remaining unseen.
Secret Tide Tunnel
A concealed passage carved into the cliffs that connects directly to the tidal caves. It serves as both a hidden supply route and an escape path, leading outward to the open sea. Accessible only through sealed doors, its entrance is masked by rockfall and tides, making it invisible to the untrained eye.
Root Passages
Tunnels woven through the cliffside roots and foundations. Some are narrow crawl spaces, others large enough for small groups to move through. They provide hidden access between chambers, allow for ambushes or retreats, and serve as emergency escape routes.
Water Diversion System
A series of aqueducts and sluice gates carved into the cliffs, allowing control over the waterfalls. In times of peace, the system regulates irrigation and pools; in times of siege, it can redirect torrents to flood choke points or cut off access to vulnerable approaches.
Force Wards
Stone pillars capped with Force-reactive crystals are set throughout the walls and foundations of the Aerie, their surfaces carved with decorative runes that disguise their true purpose. Sustained through special construction and Force attunement, these warding points form a subtle perimeter lattice: those who attempt to enter unseen, or who dampen their presence in the Force, are silently revealed to those who are attuned to the system, and their position noted within the sanctuary's awareness. Many of the pillars also conceal security eyes within their ornamentation.
Shield Dome
An energy barrier that can be raised over the Aerie during times of threat. Anchored to the ward crystals and powered by the generator, it is capable of deflecting blaster fire, resisting bombardments, and sealing the sanctuary against assault. Normally dormant, it activates only at need, shimmering faintly like a veil over the treetops and cliffs.
Hidden Security Eyes
Surveillance devices are placed throughout the halls and terraces, often disguised as lanterns, carved motifs, or crystal chimes. Subtle and easily overlooked, they provide a constant stream of visual and audio data to the Safe Room's command niche, ensuring the Aerie is always watched without feeling monitored.
Camouflage Systems
Light-bending projectors and holoshrouds are embedded within the cliffside and canopy. When activated, they distort the Aerie's outline, making it appear as unbroken forest canopy or barren stone from a distance. This concealment system is subtle and designed to avoid drawing attention rather than to create perfect invisibility.
Hidden Armory Alcoves
Beyond the main Weapons Cache, small alcoves are hidden throughout the Aerie's halls, terraces, and even some gardens. These caches hold blasters, melee weapons, and defensive equipment for emergencies, allowing defenders to arm themselves quickly wherever conflict breaks out.
Sensor Array / Early Warning System
Built into the cliffs and disguised within observation towers, the sensor array monitors both sky and sea. It can detect approaching ships, storms, or seismic disturbances. Its data feeds directly to the Safe Room's command niche, giving guardians time to prepare or evacuate if danger looms. They are equipped with life form detector equipment and can differentiate machines from beasts.
Water Purification Vault
A concealed chamber containing purification and recycling systems that ensure a constant supply of potable water. Even if the river or gardens were cut off, the vault could sustain the Aerie's population for extended periods, making long siege survivable.
Waste & Recycling Systems
Refuse processors and compost vaults ensure nothing is wasted. Organic material is broken down into compost for the gardens, while other waste is recycled for building material or energy reclamation. The system ensures the Aerie remains clean, self-sufficient, and balanced with its environment.
Restricted Lift Platforms
The main elevator-lift systems operate on keyed authorization. In an emergency, platforms can be paused, rerouted, or sealed entirely, preventing unauthorized ascent into the upper halls.
Segmented Bulkhead Network
Hidden interior doors and stone-faced partitions allow the Aerie to be divided into secured wings. This enables controlled lockdowns, guiding movement into safer corridors while protecting private chambers.
Threshold Sigils
Carved markings at key doors, bridges, and stairways act as subtle wards. They do not harm intruders, but can cause hesitation, imbalance, or disorientation when crossed with hostile intent. These are created with special runes and Force sensitive Crystals.
Presence Shroud
Beyond their structural role, select crystals are tuned to soften Force-sense probing from beyond the perimeter. Presence cannot be erased, but attempts to read within return muted, cloudy impressions, details blurring into indistinct echoes. Precise tracking and distant perception become unreliable, as though the sanctuary's signatures are half-hidden behind misted glass.
Echo-Trace Marking Ward
Certain perimeter stones and entryways imprint an unfamiliar presence with a lingering Force signature. This allows guardians to see or feel an impression or 'snap shot' of the unfamiliar persons force signature or recognize trespassers later, even if they escape the grounds.
Labyrinth Script Corridors
Some lesser-used passages are patterned with misdirection runes keyed to resident tokens. If the scripts do not detect an authorized marker, they trigger a subtle Force illusion that bends perception of direction and distance, making intruders feel as though they are circling back through the same halls and junctions. The effect is disorienting rather than harmful, guiding the unkeyed away until they withdraw or are intercepted.
Somnolent Mist Vents
Concealed ventilation ducts in select corridors, chambers, and lifts can release a mild sedative haze intended for pacification, followed immediately by purge cycles. This is a sanctuary measure, not a weapon, used only to prevent escalation.
Nonlethal Deterrent Turrets
Discreet, retractable nodes built into service alcoves and corridor junctions can deploy stun-grade bolts, binding nets, or rapid-expanding foam. Paired with hidden cameras and small floating security-eye droids, these systems coordinate containment responses in real time, tracking movement and activating only when necessary. They are designed for temporary incapacitation rather than harm, buying time for evacuation or restraint without escalating to lethal force.
Tide-Gated Access Controls
Several cave approaches are naturally masked by tide cycles. Pressure doors and stone shutters provide a secondary seal, allowing the coastline entrances to vanish when necessary.
Decoy Signal Beacons
False transponder echoes and misdirecting signal nodes can be activated along distant cliffs, drawing casual scanners away from the true outline of the sanctuary.
Reinforced Agricultural Boundaries
The outer farmlands are protected with low-profile stone walls, sensor-threaded posts, and guardian routes, ensuring the cultivated meadows remain watched without appearing militarized.
Information Security
Encrypted Internal Network
All control systems operate on hardened, rotating encryption keys. Signals between sensors, doors, cameras, and command nodes cannot be accessed without authorized credentials; intrusion attempts are logged and flagged automatically.
Compartmentalized Data
No single terminal contains the whole picture. Security, infrastructure, archives, and defense systems are separated into independent layers; access to one does not grant access to another.
Decoy Data Architecture
Unauthorized access routes lead to convincing but false schematics, patrol paths, and system maps. Intruders may believe they understand the layout while moving through curated misinformation.
Fire Suppression & Flood Control
Heat and smoke sensors trigger localized response systems. Foam, mist, or vacuum draw can be deployed per section, preventing spread while preserving the surrounding structure.
Atmospheric Isolation
Bulkhead seals can divide corridors and chambers in seconds. This protects against toxins, decompression, or environmental hazards and supports rescue or containment.
Power Routing Redundancy
Energy flows through multiple parallel conduits. If one line fails, automated switching shifts demand to secondary routes without interrupting priority systems.
Manual Overrides
Mechanical releases, wheels, and analog triggers remain available behind concealed panels. Critical doors, lifts, and vents can function even if digital control is lost.
Communication & Response
Silent Alert Network
Discrete triggers embedded in jewelry, consoles, and wall panels allow residents to call for assistance without visible alarm. Notifications route directly to guardians and command stations.
Local Lockdown Authority
Sections of the Aerie can seal independently. Corridors close, lifts halt, and routes redirect while the rest of the sanctuary continues normal function.
Guardian Recall Beacons
Encrypted summons transmit to designated defenders through personal receivers and attuned channels, guiding rapid convergence without public broadcast.
Monitoring Upgrades
Behavioral Flagging
The system observes traffic patterns and compares them to expected movement. Unusual wandering, repeated attempts at restricted access, or approach toward protected zones generates quiet alerts.
Thermal / Mass Tracking
Passive scanners monitor body heat and physical presence, verifying population counts and detecting concealed or unexpected occupants.
Inventory Tagging
Sensitive equipment and relics carry embedded markers. Removal from authorized areas produces an immediate notice to oversight stations.
Movement Governance
Airlock-Style Sluice Points
Sequential door systems ensure one barrier closes before the next opens. This allows identity checks, containment, or delay without confrontation.
Visitor Escort Protocols
Guest permissions attach temporarily to an assigned host. When separated, access narrows automatically to safe public routes.
Lift Destination Control
Vertical transit responds to user credentials. Unauthorized floors simply do not appear as options.
Time-Based Permissions
Access profiles shift according to schedule. Work spaces, gardens, or private halls open only during approved windows.
Identity & Access Control
Biometric Readers
Verification may include retinal scan, palm signature, genetic trace, or Force-attuned imprint. Clearance is required for vaults, control chambers, and restricted systems.
Multi-Factor Authentication
Entry demands more than one proof: physical token, biometric confirmation, and knowledge key. Compromise of a single element is insufficient.
Access Tiering
Residents, guests, guardians, and staff each operate within defined privileges. Doors, networks, and transit points respond accordingly.
Revocation System
Permissions can be withdrawn instantly from command authority. Lost credentials or disciplinary action immediately update the entire network.
The Gate Chamber
Hidden deep beneath Tidewatch, the Gate Chamber is a circular portal carved into stone.
The gate cannot be used freely. It requires three conditions:
- An authorized keyed token
- Focused Force attunement at the threshold
- A selected color alignment to determine the destination
The portal remains inert unless it recognizes an attuned marker, an authorized seal, crystal key, or resident token. Without it, the ring does not open.
Color-Routed Destinations
Crystal facets around the circular frame can flare in distinct hues, allowing the gate to "turn" toward a specific anchored exit:
- White: Veridian Jedi Temple & Academy
- Pale Blue: Refuge
- Rose: Centerra
- Violet: Dorin
- Amber: The back of a Maclunkee's Mobile Restaurant
- Red: Cravepoint LLC vending machine in the middle of nowhere of a desert environment on Tatooine.
- Orange: Lucky 7's Starport near Dagobah
- Black: Khar Delba
- Ice Silver: Hoth
- Crystal Blue: Ilum
- Emerald Dawn: Tython
- Loth-Wolf Gray: Lothal
- Harvest Gold: Sacorria
- Deep Garnet: Jutrand
Each route is one-way only. The gate does not guarantee return; travelers must rely on other means or another anchored threshold elsewhere.
Function and Limits
The Prism Gate blooms briefly, long enough for passage, then seals. Those who attempt to force it without the key meet only refusal, a doorway that will not become a door.
Practical Note*
These systems prioritize concealment, delay, and evacuation over lethal force. Skilled intruders may still bypass them with time, preparation, or insider knowledge.

Founder:
The Tidewatch Aerie is a monumental construction project personally initiated, designed, and largely built by Braze. Envisioned as a defensible refuge and enduring center of operations, the complex expands the idea of a tree-borne dwelling into a vertically layered sanctuary spanning canopy, cliff, and cavern along ocean shores.
Braze selected the site for elevation, natural cover, access to freshwater, and coastal escape routes. Construction proceeded in phases rather than a single campaign. He maintained primary authority over architecture, logistics, and security.
Large structural placements, reinforcement of foundations, and integration between living wood, stone, and infrastructure were achieved through prolonged Force application. Conventional engineering, mechanical systems, and later refinements were incorporated as the settlement matured in it's development.
The majority of materials were sourced or reclaimed by Braze personally. External contractors were used sparingly; most work was completed by his own effort or by trusted residents once habitation began.
Power generation diversified over time, linking canopy solar capture, hydro systems, wind harvesters, and reserve storage into the central vault architecture.
