A Strategic Strike
In an attempt to win the Cold War with the Empire without risking more lives on the battlefield, the Galactic Alliance enacts a plan to assassinate key elements of the Imperial Hierarchy. Their first target was none other than Grand Moff Ignacious Korvan; The Architect of the Battle of Ilum during a celebration within Fortress Imperator. Although the assassination of the Grand Moff was a critical failure it opened a pathway to the elimination of One of the Five Commissioners of COMPNOR in the form of Kanollic II Vethres who was present during the gathering but avoided direct confrontation.
Alliance Intelligence has tracked down through numerous informants the COMPNOR Commissioner to Bal Talmshaa, a world deep within Empire Space and under the direct control of Kanollic as his powerbase. Although the world is heavily guarded by the 400th Bal Talmshaa Fleet which proved itself a considerable threat during the battle between the Empire and the Chiss Resurgency. Sending a full military force away from Alliance Space would prove disastrous due to the Brotherhood of the Maw still posing a threat to galactic stability.
A COMPNOR marked shuttle was recently stolen and is being used to ferry a highly skilled team of SIA Agents and other assets to engage the COMPNOR Commissioner within Fortress Delzotto and eliminate a key player within the Empire to send a clear message.
Fortress Delzotto ; Bal Talmshaa
The annual snowstorm on the world of Bal Talmshaa never ceased to impress the COMPNOR Commissioner as it battered against the high walls of Fortress Delzotto. White snowflakes and heavy wind came down like a raging river through the mountainous landscape that surrounded his base of operations. The orbit around the planet was protected by the 400th Bal Talmshaa Fleet which housed an impressive array of starships fresh off the Imperial Stardock.
Kanollic II was within the Fortress Suite and had just written the reports regarding the incident on the mandalorian capital of Kestri. Having solved the case would have been a moment for celebration but all that was felt was nothing but sething anger.
He had been humiliated by the Lord-Regent of the Empire, simply because he had the brave idea of standing up for himself against the Mandalorians and had the nerve to question his involvement in the plot at Kestri. Now he was assigned as a mole within COMPNOR forever tied to the Lord Regent's whim. Kanollic II had ambitions of his own in an attempt to secure his dynasty's place within the empire but that was thrown out the window with Barran forever looking over his shoulder. A grumble escaped from his elderly features as he sat within his suite and grabbed a stylise from his desk. Beginning to write his letter of resignation until the sound of a door opened and an aide popped in.
"Commissioner Vethres, COMPNOR Shuttle I905 has returned."
The aide said without hesitation moving away from the door now without another word to allow the 78 year old to pass through. Kanollic was suspicious regarding the nature of the shuttle since it was reported missing after the Battle of Ilum occured. But he was assured that the shuttle would not be able to penetrate so deep within the empire without having been checked out by the Imperial Navy's Patrols. Since the shuttle had arrived, Kanollic II had to presume without evidence that the shuttle didn't house any danger to himself.
"Let us see if the shuttle's navicomputer can be salavaged."
He said with a brush of his long white beard adorning his face, as the clank clank of his military issued boots echoed through the halls.
