The meeting point between two trade runs made for a spectacular sight of mix matched merchants coming and going. A variety of goods, services, and tourists passing through the noble ruled planet. While the wealthy and higher socialites delighted in the myriad of expensive and gaudy things available to them, the common worker found most times the greatest fun to be had was in the simpler things.
Or sometimes in the most ridiculous of things.
A quiet call to those interested in such a spectacle was sent across the holonet and whispered along the docks. Excited mumblings for the show that was to be held later in the evening in a privately owned warehouse along the waterfront. After official closing times, the slow gathering of a crowd was all the more of a lure that people needed to find their way.
Credits had been passed off, local authorities informed and politely turning a blind eye to the whole scene as dockhands and other workers assembled the makeshift arena to hold their somewhat secretive pastime.
Modified P-GLE rigs were brought in. Some missing their lower half, some with added plating or even sporting customized paint jobs lined the ring.
Stadium seating was erected in quick succession before the doors opened for those looking to wager, to watch, and others for a strange sight were allowed to enter. A podium with a holo-projected board displayed titles and match ups as people entered before what looked to be a pop up booth greeted them.
The body behind the counter offering bets on who would win or lose depending on your take. A vendor had arrived with a healthy stock of drinks and another had even erected a makeshift cooking station and was preparing to take orders as people filed in.
Ruby sat beside the ring, her harness on and the exoskeleton mag locked to her rig. The helmet sat between her feet as she waited and fussed with her jacket beside her. She was known in the circuit on Stewjon but seldom elsewhere. Second in the line up and waiting as she pulled her hair back into a bun and watched the announcer take the ring to give his opening speech.
All the while inertial dampers were humming in the posts that dominated the octagonal shape in the center of the large building as what appeared to be medical personnel stood at the backdoor quietly talking with what most likely the quickly found temporary staff for the event.
