- Personal Energy Shield, not too disimilar to the Mandalorian Combat Shield, appears as a guard around the hilt in the form of runes, giving the weapon a more magical appearence while also protecting the hand of the wielder.

The Stick, while flashy, is a very simple weapon used purely as a defensive method for members of the Phoenix Initiative. The primary hand in it's development, director Akar Rhonvogg, wanted to make a blade that was all bark and no bite, something that appeared more dangerous than it really was to deter attackers. As a purely scientific focused organization, PI is firmly against resorting to violence, but a volitile galaxy calles for self defence. The stick has a low powered plasma blade that can fend off blaster bolts, but won't do much more than give welts when dishing out damage, and it has a small energy shield guard that takes the form of runes in order to make the device look far more mystical than it really is. While not effective in lethal combat, it serves as a good defence and identifiable icanography for the scientific enthusiasts of PI.
