  • Overview: Shortly after the fall of the Galactic Empire, the Pyke Syndicate attempted to colonize the planet Tatooine, in order to use its strategic position to establish a formal trade route to the Mid Rim. However, they met opposition in the form of the former bounty hunter Boba Fett. Fett had set himself up as ruler of the planet, and had not intention of handing it to the Pykes. Baron Elzan Krim (the head of the colonization project, and the nephew of Marg Krim) responded to this challenge by sending a regiment of Pyke soldiers to Mos Espa. These soldiers systematically destroyed any establishments in the city loyal to Fett. This act drew Fett out of his heavily fortified palace, and Krim’s forces surrounded Fett while he was inspecting the remains of a cantina the Pykes had bombed. Fett knew that he was cornered, and decided to send a diplomat to negotiate his surrender. However, negotiations quickly broke down. Accounts differ on who fired the first shots, but soon enough, Fett’s forces and the Pykes were in open warfare. The Pykes initially appeared to have the upper hand. However, the tide turned when a volunteer militia from Freetown arrived to support Fett. In response to this, the Pykes deployed a pair of Scorpenek Droids. (It is debated how the Syndicate obtained these droids, but the most common theory is that they were provided by a Separatist Remnant which the Galactic Empire had not defeated.) These droids managed to grind the battle into a bitter stalemate for roughly an hour. The stalemate was broken when Fett used a Rancor to tear the droids apart. After this, the Pykes retreated from the city. The Pykes had suffered high causalities in the battle, and withdrew from Tatooine.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Spice Wars was written as a definitive account of Pyke history by the well respected historian Orven Falcomel. It serves as a quasi-sequel to his previous book Phoenix: The Repeated Rise and Fall of Crimson Dawn. It was written with the reluctant approval of Grand Wsjirari Jej Ulchtar. At the time of publication, the book proved to be controversial due to it covering the Pykes from a neutral point of view. Many people believed that the book was either portraying the Pykes as far better, or far worse than they actually are. The controversy has died down now that a few years have passed since its publication. The Spice Wars is now considered to be Orven Falcomel’s 2nd best book, behind only Gunray: (A Study of Greed, Manipulation, and Desperation For Approval) in terms of quality.

This all reads fine, however, please remember that all submissions are treated as "Media" in which members are free to accept, deny, or ignore. Just because it has been "codified" here does not mean that it has become law. It's simply true for characters that deem it to be true so it's fine to state the above in a general sense. If you already knew this then please carry on and enjoy. I just wanted to be sure. Thanks! [APPROVED]
