OVERVIEW
The Sovereign Hand is a clandestine order of Force-sensitive operatives serving the First Order directly under the authority of the Supreme Leader. Operating outside the conventional military chain of command, the Sovereign Hand exists to control, exploit, and suppress the influence of the Force across the galaxy in service of absolute order.
Where the First Order's fleets impose authority through military might, the Sovereign Hand operates in the shadows - hunting Force users, securing ancient artifacts of power and ensuring that no mystical tradition rises to challenge the supremacy of the regime.
The order is overseen by a single commanding figure known as the Black Hand, who answers only to the Supreme Leader. Through this direct chain of authority, the Sovereign Hand operates with near-unlimited jurisdiction in matters concerning Force activity.
To the wider First Order military, the arrival of the Sovereign Hand signals that a matter has moved beyond the reach of ordinary soldiers.
INDOCTRINATION
Force-sensitive individuals brought into the Sovereign Hand are subjected to a swift and brutal indoctrination process designed to eliminate all prior loyalties and personal identity.
The First Order views individuality among Force users as a seed of instability—one that has historically led to rebellion, schism, and chaos. As such, recruits undergo psychological conditioning intended to strip them of personal ambition and emotional attachments.
Their former names are erased.
In their place, recruits are given new designations—titles that signify their rebirth as instruments of the First Order. These titles replace their identities entirely, ensuring that the unity and discipline of the Sovereign Hand is never compromised by personal ambition.
Through relentless training and ideological conditioning, these operatives are reshaped into unwavering servants of the regime.
The goal of the Sovereign Hand is not to create Sith Lords or independent dark-side warlords.
It is to forge weapons of order.
STRUCTURE
The Black Hand
The Black Hand serves as the supreme commander of the Sovereign Hand and acts as the Supreme Leader's foremost instrument in all matters involving the Force.
The Black Hand directs the activities of the order, assigns missions, oversees the indoctrination of new recruits, and advises the Supreme Leader on Force-related matters that may affect the stability of the First Order.
Within the military hierarchy, even senior commanders understand that the Black Hand's authority derives directly from the Supreme Leader himself.
The Hands
Beneath the Black Hand serve the operatives collectively known as the Hands.
Rather than carrying numerical designations or conventional ranks, each member of the Sovereign Hand is given a title upon their induction. These titles serve as their new identities within the order and permanently replace the names they held before their indoctrination.
These designations do not reflect hierarchy or specialization. Every Hand is trained to perform the same duties and carries equal responsibility in fulfilling the Sovereign Hand's mission.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Sovereign Hand serves as the First Order's primary authority in all matters involving the Force.
Their responsibilities include:
- Directing Artifact Recovery Missions
The Sovereign Hand locates and secures ancient Force artifacts before they can be exploited by enemies of the regime. - Hunting Force Sensitives
Rogue Force users are relentlessly pursued. Those who show potential may be captured and indoctrinated into the Sovereign Hand. Those who resist are eradicated. - Training New Hands
Experienced Hands oversee the indoctrination and training of newly captured Force-sensitives, ensuring loyalty to the Supreme Leader and the principles of order. - Advising the Supreme Leader
Through their understanding of the Force and its traditions, the Sovereign Hand advises the Supreme Leader on mystical threats, ancient relics, and Force-related disturbances across the galaxy.
SUPPORTIVE UNIT
To support the Sovereign Hand in their operations, the First Order deploys specialised soldiers known as Purge Troopers.
These elite units are trained specifically to engage Force-sensitive adversaries and frequently accompany the Hands during purge operations, artifact recovery missions, and the suppression of Force-related threats.
Equipped with specialized armor and weaponry designed to counter lightsabers and Force-enhanced combatants, Purge Troopers provide the tactical support necessary for the Sovereign Hand to carry out its missions efficiently and decisively.
While the Hands wield the power of the Force itself, the Purge Troopers ensure that overwhelming military force stands behind them.
REPUTATION
Within the First Order military, knowledge of the Sovereign Hand is limited.
Most officers understand only that they answer directly to the Supreme Leader and that their presence signifies a matter of extraordinary importance.
Among stormtroopers, rumors follow them wherever they appear.
When the Hands move… the will of the Supreme Leader follows.
