Name: The Sith Academy

Intent: To flesh out the canonical Sith Academy on Korriban as it's now been restored by a The Primeval with earlier assistance from the One Sith and Eridium Industrial.
Classification: Training facility for force-users; Archaeological dig site.
Location: Valley of the Dark Lords, Korriban.
Affiliation: The Primeval
Description: Originally the Academy was more than just a training facility. It was also the capitol to the Sith during their earlier years leading up to the foundation of the first Sith Empire. The massive pyramid-like structure boasts many rooms inside from cantinas to holding cells, and several training areas within as well as offices for the administration. The chamber once used as the seat of the Dark Council was converted into an office/living quarters for the Academy's headmaster. A slightly smaller meeting room was then constructed at the very top of the Academy which once held a private hangar for arriving Sith Lords. Instead of a hangar, the academy now has a large landing pad towards the side of the structure, built into the canyon walls.
Other modifications include updated defenses. Four turbolaser towers guard the pathway leading up the valley and towards the main entrance and twelve anti-aircraft emplacements are aligned along the canyon protecting the structure from attacks. The Academy itself is guarded by two hundred soldiers who are spread out throughout the Academy grounds and are tasked with keeping the peace as well as preventing infiltrators from entering or leaving. Behind the academy is a power generator for the defenses and a ray shield generator which protects the academy from orbital turbolaser bombardment.
The First Floor
- Entrance Hall: The primary entrance to the Sith Academy, usually where Acolytes and Initiates idle before and after training.
- Main Hall: This is the center of the Academy which leads to various corridors. There's also a staircase that leads to the second floor and an elevator to the lower levels.
- Cantina: A Cantina for students and personnel to relax and unwind.
- Holding Cells: This room leads to both the holding cells and interrogation where prisoners are kept.
- Student Quarters: A mid-sized room filled with bunk beds and lockers. Here students can sleep within the Academy walls rather than the barracks located outside of the Academy grounds.
- Main Hall; upper level: This balcony overlooks the main hall and leads to various areas on the second floor.
- Archives: Here students can find archive databanks pertaining to their training and studies, as well as information on the Academy itself.
- Elevator: An elevator which leads to the third floor.
- Altar: An altar dedicated to the worship of The Primeval Gods.
- Sparring Room: A training area for sparring and duels with fellow students.
- Combat Training: A training area specialized for combat disciplines.
- Force Training: A training area specialized to the study and use of force powers.
- Elevator: An elevator which leads to the second floor.
- Headmaster Quarters: The private quarters of the Academy headmaster.
- Council Chambers: A converted hangar where higher ranking members can meet and discuss.
History: The Sith Academy on Korriban is a structure of ancient origins that once served as the seat of the Sith Lords in times leading up to the Great Sith War. The original structure has all but been erased whereas the current structure is a renovation of the original restoration conducted by the Sith Empire during the Cold War. After the Sith Empire's fall, Korriban has been exchanged a handful of times between vying powers and was more or less forgotten. The Valley of the Dark Lords in which it resides was squandered of its precious artifacts with most of the larger tombs being completely excavated or looted. Sometime after the 400 Year Darkness the world was rediscovered and once more the Valley was looted, excavated, and all but forgotten under The Republic.
During the Netherworld Crisis, a enigmatic group of zealous crusaders emerged from the Unknown Regions and conquered Korriban, these allies of the One Sith decided to solidify their alliance by restoring this iconic ruin to its former glory and bringing the facility back to a functional state. Now with the Sith Academy fully restored by The Primeval, Sith acolytes and other dark side initiates may once again train in its halls, discover the secrets of the valley, and follow in the footsteps of the great Sith Lords who founded it.
