  • Name: Sisqa
  • Designation: Sentient
  • Homeworld: Vamai
  • Language: Sisqa language
  • Average height of adults: 1.3 m
  • Skin color: Blue
  • Hair color: None
  • Breathes: Typically oxegen through water, but can breathe type I and II atmospheres for short periods of time.

  • Strengths:
  • Excellent swimmer: As they are an aquatic species, the Sisqa are amazing swimmers, easily able to outswim nearly all non-aquatic creatures.
  • Venom-laced spines: Due to their sithspawn origins, Sisqa have spines protruding from their dorsal ridge, along with their 'hand' finds, and 'feet' fins, that secrete a mild paralytic.
  • Mostly-water: As the Sisqa have a much higher percentage of water in their systems then many other sapients, they are able to survive in high-pressure enviroments easily, such as the deep ocean.
  • Exellent night vision: Sisqa can see in to the infrared spectrum, therfore can easily see in pitch-black.
  • Regeneration: Due to their sithspawn origins, Sisqa have the innate ability to heal from minor wounds much faster then many sentients, recovering from minor wounds such as scratches in minutes, and larger wounds in hours or days. Although, they can not fend off diseases or poisons with this method.
  • Super-slime: The Sisqa secrete a mucus-based substance that can keep their skin moist for short periods of time (a few hours) out of water. This slime is also mildly energy resistent, meaning it could protect a Sisqa from a glancing blaster blow, or a very weak energy weapon.

  • Weaknesses:
  • Thin skin: The Sisqa have much thinner skin then many sapients, therefore are more prone to injury.
  • Water-breather: The Sisqa were made to have two sets of gills; one set made to breathe water, the other made to filter air. Although, through generations of never needing to breathe air, the air-breathing set is badly stunted, and can only function for an hour or so at a time.
  • Fin-fingers: The Sisqa's 'fingers' are deeply webbed for swimming, meaning they have trouble with any advanced motor skills. They are able to grip items like a spear shaft, but would not be able to operate a blaster trigger or type in a datapad.
  • Technological dunces: The Sisqa have a feudal society, and no nothhing of modern technology.
  • Lightning: As sithspawn creatures, Sisqa are vunrable to lightning and electrictiy-based attacks.
  • Dark-side powers: Created to be sithspawn slaves, the Sisqa are vunrable to the influence of dark-siders, and often find themselves following a dark-siders wishes blindly. This greatly effects the Ovinyan Sisqa, moreso then the tribal race.
  • Prone to drying: Once their mucus layer dries in a few hours, A Sisqa's skin is prone to drying and cracking, which can result in fatal injury.
  • Light: Developing in darkness, Sisqa's eyes are extremely sensitive to light, meaning they would have to wear visors to travel to areas with light.
  • The Gulag plague: As the Sisqa were not exposed to the Gulag plague, they did not build an immunity. Therefore, they are vunrable to it.

  • Distinctions: Sisqa were created to be the perfect slave race; willing to follow any dark-sider blindly and loyally, as well as being able to breathe both water and air. Therfore, they were created with two sets of gills, one for air, one for water. Although after generations of not using the air-breathing gills, they are heavily stunted and only function for short periods of time. The amphibious species is built highly reminiscent of fish, with large fin-like hands and feet, and large eyes that can see in to infrared. A notable feature is their tall dorsal ridges, spiked with venomous spines. The Sisqa are a vast change from the usual humanoid or near-human species you see roaming the galaxy- and would likely startle anyone seeing one for the first time. They also have a set of webbed tentacle like protrusing coming from the sides of their small heads; which can stretch out to make a wide frill. (Much like earth's frilled lizards)

  • Average Lifespan: 60 years
  • Races: Tribal Sisqa, Ovinyan Sisqa
  • Estimated Population: 13 million (Only on Vamai)
  • Diet: Various alchemically created fauna of Vamai. (It should be noted that Sisqa can go several weeks without eating without ill effects)
  • Communication: A spoken language reminiscent of high-pitched shrieking whalesong, emphisized with body language.

  • Culture: When the Sisqa popluation split in to two groups, each formed an elaborate mythology that became the base of their cultures. The Ovinyan Sisqa formed a fuedal society ruled by a king and his council of lords, which governed a massive castle-city in eastern Vamai. Ovinyan Sisqa were divided in to four castes: The Royal caste, which contained the King and his FAMILY , and ruled Ovinya. It is the only caste that is not strict, as it changes whenever a new king takes over, unless the king is a relitive of the former monarch. Secondly, is the Warrior caste, which serves as both the millitary and the hunters of the Ovinya. It is their responsibility to both defend the city, and hunt the various aquatic monsters of the planet for food. Next, was the merchant caste, who were responsible for creating and selling all matters of weapons, tools, and other day-to-day needs. Lastly, was the commoner caste, which served as the workers, builders, and servants of the Ovinyan kingdom. This is the only caste that could not utilize Sisqan magic, and a child born from any caste that could not utilize Sisqan magic was sentanced to the commoner caste. The ruler of Ovinya was decided in two ways; either the son of the former king would take the throne, or a lord- one of the King's three advisors, one hailing from the merchant caste, one a master of Sisqan magic, and one from the warrior caste- would challnge the current king in a 'Lord's duel, a duel based completely on Sisqan magic, where no weapons were allowed. The winner of the duel would become King, with his famliy becoming the Royal Caste. Ovinyan mythology decipits a malevolent horned god who created the Sisqa and all of the other creatures of the planet, intending the Sisqa to be a race of his slaves. The Horned God gave the sisqa magic, which was eventually his downfall, as he was killed by a Sisqa warrior. Due to this 'myth', Ovinyan Sisqan have elaborate ceramonies when a children are hatched, in where the parents warp Sisqan magic around the infants, to form a 'barrier of magic', to protect their children is the Horned God ever returned. In reality, most Sisqa are not strong enough in the force- what they call Sisqan Magic- to form any permenant protection around their children. Another ceremony is known as the 'King's power', which is a display that the current Ovinyan king shows from the highest point of Ovinya, using his Magic prowess, highly reminiscent of the northern lights. Many Sisqa belive that the more elaborate the display is, the more powerful the king is, as it shows his mastery over Sisqan magic- which leads many kings to develop elaborate illusions to supplement their magical prowess. If a display is weak, it encourages the King's lords to attempt to overthrow him. Although, the Sisqa rarely reach the same force prowess as even a knight-level force sensitive that was trained in the greater galaxy, many Ovinyan Sisqa were proficient in 'Sisqan magic'. All Ovinyan Sisqa, other than the commoner caste, were trained in Ovinyan magic, within the Millitary district. With the start of every new reign, a tournament was held for the people of Ovinyan, based soley on Sisqan magic. The winner of this tournament would be made the third lord of the new king.

    The Sisqa tribes are vastly different. Each tribe is ruled by a chieftan, who oversees the tribe and rules over it. Their mythology states that the 'Horned God' was just a extension of a greater god who sits in the sky over the surface of the oceans, named 'The Great Star'. In order for a new chieftan to take control of a tribe, he must travel to the surface of the ocean, and "face the wrath of the Great Star". If the Sisqa can return alive from the incredibly hot waters on the surface, he has achived the right to fight the current chieftan to the death, for his rank. Also, notably, within the Sasqan tribes it is considered ana bomination to be born with the ability to use 'Sisqan magic'. Anyone found able to use this is quickly killed by being tied, and left on the ocean floor to be eaten by the various monsters of the planet. The Sisqa Tribes have many elaborate festivals and ceremonies, such as the 'Festival of Safetey', where the people of the tribe preform an elaborate mixture of dancing and chants (comparable to native american rituals) in order to repel the "Great Star" from ever sending another extension of himself to harm the Sisqa. Another, involves sacrifices to the Great star through the vast systems of underwater volcanoes of the planet. For this ritual, The chieftan of the tribe, as well as three warriors of his choosing, must take several people from their tribe and travel to the nearest undersea volcano system- which is rarely far. From there, they will fling the sacrafices in to the great plumes of superheated water and steam that shoot from the volcanaoes, believing that the fountains of steam would bring the souls of the sacrificed up to the surface to the Great star, in an effort to appease him so he would not send his wrath upon the tribe. If appropriate sacrifices were not made, the tribe belived that the Great Star would punish the tribe- which natural disasters were often blamed on. Whenever a lack of prey to hunt, a disease, or diasterous volcanic eruption occured, the Sisqan tribes would sacrafice their best warriors to the Great Star, hoping to quell his anger, and prevent future disasters from striking the tribe.

  • Technology level: The Ovinyan Sisqa only have a fuedal level of Technology- their most powerful weapons being massive ballista-like spear throwers, which act like giant crossbows and fling large spears towards groups of enemies. Day-to-Day weaponry include swords and spears made from volcanic obsidian. Nearly all tools and items in Sisqan life are almost always made of stone or obsidian. The tribal Sisqa have lsightly less technology, but more or less use the same items, and materials.
  • General behavior: The Sisqa are a warlike species, often quick to anger and quick to attack others. They typically belive that all problems can be solved with bloodshed and murder, more then likely due to their sithspawn heritage. When angered, unarmed Sisqa usually attack with their venomous spines, typically paralyzing their enemy before either beating them to death- or eating them. Sisqa are known to eat their enemies as a sign of their superiority- wether it be the various alchemical creatures of the planet that are eaten as prey, or other Sisqa.

  • History: An unnamed Zabrak Alchemist created the Sisqa race, in an attempt to create the perfect slave race. This eventualyl backfired, though, as a Sisqa warrior killed the Zabrak, and began to form their own SOCIETY . The race argued amongst itself originally, debating on the 'gift' of the force, which they called 'Sisqan magic'. Many of the Sisqa claimed that it was a link to the 'Horned one', and should be purged- while others debated that it was a great power that should be used. Eventually, this left to two seperate cultures being created, and the true origins of the Sisqa race dissolving into mythology. Over time, Sisqa society evolved in to what it is today, a combination of scattered tribes and the Ovinyan Sisqa. One of the most notable events in documented Sisqan history would be the Tribe's war. This occured when several of the tribes near Ovinya began to belive that Ovinya's outright practice of Sisqan magic was angering the Great Star, and causing sickness among the Sisqa tribes. Four differnt tribes banded together, and attempted to lay seige on the city, in order to purge all users of Sisqan magic, and appease the god. After two planetary years of battle, in where several tribes joined in the seige, Ovinya eventually won. Although, during this war, the city was nearly destroyed and millions of Sisqa were killed. Since then, Ovinyan Sisqa have been known to patrol for miles upon miles around the city, routinly murdering any tribal Sisqa that wander withni a few day's travel of Ovinya. The Sisqa were mostly left alone by the greater galaxy, explorers only passed in to it's section of wild space a few times, most of which they found the planet in it's hot season, and assumed it was devoid of life. Only once had exlporers actually landed on the planet, and searched the few small island systems that sat in it's scalding waters- only to find no life. Their life-sensing technologies found only minimal life- the various alchemically created sea monsters of the planet- when they were deployed to SCAN the oceans. Due to it's place at the bottom of the ocean, Sisqan civilization was not found. Therefore, Vamai was never exposed to the Gulag plague. The only other exposure the Vamai System had gotten from the greater galaxy is the occasional Sith sensing and traveling to the force nexus of Vamai's smallest moon; Vagar. So far, none of the darksiders that have traveled to the moon have found the species of perfect slaves beneath the ocean. So far.

  • Intent: To make a wonderful slave race for someone to enslave, to make a unique and interesting new species, to populate wild space with unique species, and to make a fun species in which to protray.

  1. Go ahead and elaborate more on everything. Species subs are adding to the lore of the site, you need to be as thorough as possible in everything you do.
  2. Please specify if it's Type I or Type II atmosphere or both, no need to say oxygen breathing.
